Goofy's Kitchen Vs. PCH Grill for Breakfast Buffet?

We usually stay at DLH and end up having breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen. The setting is nice and the quality of the food is solid. This time, we are finally staying at PPH to see how it is but also to save a little money. We asked the kids ( DS15 and DD11 ) what they like when it comes to eating when we go to Disneyland itself and they mentioned Goofy's Kitchen.

We've also tried the Character Breakfast at DCA, but haven't tried the PCH Breakfast Buffet yet. How does PCH Breakfast Buffet compare to the others?

The kids are older now, so the whole "meeting Mickey" Characters and taking pictures isn't as big of a deal anymore. I think the main think that we are looking for is just a decent to solid breakfast.

Just like how PPH is considered the "lower Tier" Disney Hotel ( when it comes to price ), should I expect the same when it comes to quality where it's a step up above a Breakfast buffet at the Residence Inn?

What are your thoughts on the PCH Breakfast compared to Goofy's Kitchen?

I actually prefer PCH over Goofy's. The food is quite good. The selection isn't as large as it is at Goofy's, but I like it better. My preferences are 1. STorytellers, 2. PCH Donald's, 3. Goofy's and last is Plaza Inn in DL.

Oh, and you get Stitch at Donald's....

Is there any real difference between the food between Goofy's, Storyteller's and PCH Breakfast buffet?

Watching video reviews of PCH, I don't get the impression that there is that much of a difference. For the kids, they will eat the standard pancake, waffles, bacon and sausage. But for the Wife and I, we'd be looking at other types of fare to eat.

PCH 100%. It’s our favorite breakfast buffet. I think the food is better than GK & the character interactions are always great. We really love Stitch & his antics are always really entertaining to watch.

I agree with Malcon, Goofy's Kitchen does offer a slight bit more variety, they do more elaborate shows, and for me I always like me some chef goofy.

But PCH is so much more quite and relaxed. The character interactions are great but just no where nearly as crazy as it is in Goofy's.

It all depends on what kinda vibe you are looking for.

Storytellers is probably the best food wise between the 3. Much less chaotic, and usually fairly empty in comparison. The character's that show up to Storytellers arent a lot of peoples favorites so it gets less traffic then the other 2.

Who are the characters at Storytellers?
Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, and Pluto. Others occasionally appear also.

oh wow, i guess i havent done a character breakfast there in a while. the last time I was there, it was Meeko from Pocahontas and chip and dale. I didnt realize they had changed them. My mistake then.

If your kids don't care about characters, then you are wasting your money at character breakfasts. You can get better food at much lower prices elsewhere. While I agree with malcon10t's order of preference for character buffets, don't kid yourself--you are paying a LOT for the characters. If they are not a draw, pick other places!

How long should you expect to spend at PCH breakfast? I’m debating doing a late breakfast/early lunch one day....just trying to figure out how much time we will be out of the parks.

Iceman is correct if your kids or yourself dont care about the characters.

But if like me you do care about characters, expect to spend a good amount of time there. I'd say at least maybe 40min to an hour. This gives the characters enough time to come to your table, interact with you guys. Take pictures and watch 1 or 2 of their shows they put on.

It sounds like a lot of time but when you are interacting with the characters and taking photos, sometimes time can just pass by super quickly.
