I have only been to WDW once in 2014 - as much as I tried and tried to get back (as my signature below can attest).

DD and I are heading to Paris for an unexpected trip next month and at first I thought "too much to see in Paris to do Disney".

But then I thought... what are you thinking!?!?! I live in Canada so not like it's a quick easy trip to do ANY Disney park.

Soooo... I don't even know where to begin. We will do a single day pass but will likely wait til we get there to purchase (want to book based on weather). I would welcome any tips to those have been or would like to redirect me to another (more suitable perhaps) message board.

Off to muddle thru the Internet and see what I can find but it's been a little overwhelming so far!

TIA wonderful Disboarders!

umm... *plan*.

as an aside, can you edit thread titles? asking for a friend. :rolleyes1

There is a Disneyland Paris forum on Disboards, so your post might get moved ;)

That being said... I love Disneyland Paris. It's the most beautiful park, in my opinion, and really well designed. Don't be fooled into thinking that rides are the same as the WDW and DL versions - they can be quite different. Haunted Mansion (called Phantom Manor at DLP), Big Thunder Mountain, and Space Mountain are all really different. The dragon under the castle is just the coolest thing ever. They need to figure out how to retrofit that into the other parks around the world ;)

Don't be tempted to pay for FPs. There is a paid system at DLP but I managed to do both parks in one day with no FPs at all.

A lot of the shows and rides are in both French and English. Mickey and the Magical Map in the Studios park is just GORGEOUS, possibly my favourite show in any Disney park. I cried.

At the Studios, right now the only things I bother to make a point doing is Ratatouille, Crush's Coaster, and the Mickey and the Magical Map show. It kinda sucks to get a park hopper just to do those things, but those things make a park hopper totally worth it!

Most of us recommend staying onsite at Disneyland Paris as all hotel guests have access to early opening every day of their stay. General opening time is at 10 am where as the hotel guests are in the park from 8.30am

When would you be planning to visit, as school holidays pay a big part in crowd levels

How many in your party, any children?

Are you staying in central Paris and just wanting to do a one day trip to Disneyland? If so you will need to factor in travel times and train routes from central Paris to Disneyland and than back to central Paris in the evening / night time

Thank you for the info! We are going to arrive May 16 and leave May 23. No option to stay onsite as we have a hotel booked in Paris in the 9th A. I was thinking of Mon 20th or Tue 21st, to avoid weekend crowds. Just me and DD attending - she is 18.

I poked around but couldn't find a DLP section and thought maybe if DU doesn't do vacations to France, there wasn't one? Glad to see I was wrong.

Off to review all the links and thanks for all the info shared @BadPinkTink and @anna_m. :goodvibes

There are no national holidays or school holidays on those 2 dates, but if I had to choose, I would go with the 21st. As people sometimes plan a long weekend from Saturday - Monday. Crowds will be slightly lower on Tuesday.

good to know! thanks. that gives us tuesday at disney and wednesday for one last wander thru parisian streets before we leave thursday.

The tickets you buy on line don't have a date, but are cheaper then to buy one there. So I'd advise you to buy your tickets ahead of time and still decide at that moment which day to go to DLP

this is great... it will allow us the flexibility to do it week before if weather is all over the place. DD looked it up online and said the tickets were for assigned days so will have to see what else i can find.

thanks to you both for the info!!

There are three "levels" of tickets, depending on the day (that's why there is a calendar on the site), if all your possible days are in the same level, you can use it any of the days. Most of the time weekend days will be a higher level (= more expensive), but if you have the choice, I'd stay away from those anyway.

okay, i get it - i ordered MINI tickets for DD and i that are valid that whole end of one week/beginning of the next, excluding the weekend. thanks for the tip! printing out map so we can strategically make our way thru the park and am really starting to get excited!!!

thanks again - disboarders are the best. :)
