Refresh is not dead- April 6/7 Weekend Test

I didn't know it refresh was ever rumored to be dead???

It was just for 2 days 2 weekends ago when MDE wasn't "holding" FPs that popped up. By the time you clicked it, it would be unavailable. It only lasted a couple of days and was seemingly a glitch (unless some sort of test for something), but the ensuing chaos has subsided as it's back to normal. FYI.

I’ve spent some time playing with refresh over the last week, and I’ve had better luck than I’ve ever had before in the parks. I was able to pulll and confirm (and then release right away) FoP, Splash, Space, ToT, Navi, Soarin, FEA, you name it. After feeling a little bummed after first reports came out, I’m cautiously optimistic that I’ll be able to have really great luck with it on my May trip.

MDE was having serious issues right after that last upgrade(I know shocking!). And the message that popped made people think the refresh ability had somehow been killed off. But if you were diligent(I tested it out myself using AP), even during the "outage" you could get refresh to work. So it's not so much that refresh is back or saved, MDE is just fully working again(for now).

Thanks for this. I remember browsing the forums a couple of weeks ago (been away from the boards for a while) and seeing everyone with their hair on fire about refresh being gone. To be honest, it would have been pretty crappy if that situation had become permanent. Happy that it's "back to normal" now. Refresh is a powerful way to get a lot done.

Last August, I remember seeing all those people in long standby lines for attractions like IASW, knowing that I just refreshed our group of 7 to do it within 5 minutes, which meant instantly due to the grace period.

Just want to put out there...I was trying to get late morning times for Mine Train on my FP days. On my 60+1 day only late afternoon was available, starting at 4:30 I believe. So then I went to my 60+3 day....found a 1:15, but someone got it just that fast. I was then given the 1:50 time, I took it. Not the ideal time I wanted, but at least I got a FP. The NEXT day I was able to bump that time down to 1:25. There are currently no more FPs available for that day, so I will wait as I get closer to my trip to see if I can get somewhere around the 11:30 area.

Although I have obsessive compulsive FP+ plans in the making for our October trip, I am hoping to use "Refresh" to cut several hours of my touring plan. Great to hear!

I would keep an eye out for June hours updates, which will likely happen early May. Early June often has better hours than what is currently on the calendar. IF they add hours, that creates new FP supply. As people adjust plans, it can be a good time to search to see if anything pops up that works better for you.

Some of it was assumptions, but much of it were people reporting on a glitch when their MDE app updated. There really was a problem with reserving FP times that the people on that thread pointed out to everyone and then to Disney. The problem was fixed...thank goodness!

Yes, after you use the 3rd one book the 4th one. Also, after you "tap in" for the first FP, start modifying the other 2 to move them up so you can get and use more FPs. When are you going in June?

Yes, instead of modifying just go do a search like you normally would. You will get a warning but just go through it (keep guests). It won't cancel what you currently have unless you choose a new FP.

I'm not sure where to post this....but I'm annoyed. I was on FB and in my feed there was something about beating the lines at Disneyworld. These two females are charging $15 for line hacks. Something we all know here that is FREE. All these people are paying money for it and it just bugs me that these two females are making money off of something that is easily accessed at no charge. I want to say something SO bad, but I don't do well with confrontation online. People tend to be a bit more "brutal" since they know they will probably never been seen face to face. I didn't want to post the website here as I'm not sure that would be allowed. I mean people do videos on YouTube all the time about beating the lines....I've seen it on other forums too. Ugh...I know I should be bothered....but I am..... I hate seeing people who don't deserve it taken advantage of.

Is it possible to lose a FP trying this? I have Space Mountain 10:10, Big Thunder Mountain 12:20pm and couldn't get SDMT until 4:05pm. After I tap at Space Mountain I will try to move Big Thunder up to 10:15 am but then would I add new FP's and/or try to move SDMT up? Will I lose the slot I have or it just won't be available? What are the chances I can move that at all?!

You only lose the FP if you accept the new time slot with another FP. But technically, you aren't losing anything, you are replacing it. When you tap into Space at 10:10, try to see if you can possibly move SDMT up to anything in that area. It won't give you a time for where you have BTMRR at 12:20, but it will show you any other earlier time that you don't already have occupied by a FP. You could also move BTMRR up immediately to an earlier FP time allowing more times for SDMT to show. I hope I've made sense. Let me know!
