I'm so sorry! I cannot believe this is happening to you again. Hopefully this will be much simpler than the stolen wallet before.
It's a non-event thankfully. It seems like one of my cards is compromised quarterly. Having a lot of cards has its pluses and its minuses:)

And last night on my way home from CLE I almost left my backpack with my wallet, keys, and laptop in the Charlotte airport. I actually boarded the plane (Boarding Group 5--thank you Barclay Aviator) at 11 PM and my co-workers texted me that I had left my backpack. They all already had two carry-ons but snuck it on. So really it's a miracle my wallet isn't stolen more often!

I don't even know what sport that is  The only time I ever care about anything sports-related that isn't horseback riding is the Olympics. Then I go full USA chant for two weeks.

But seriously, I've always wanted to go to the Olympics and I've always wanted to go to Japan! I told DH it's a two for one deal. I don't participate in the kind of horseback riding to ever compete there, but I definitely still love the equestrian events and am pretty excited that we'll be experiencing it firsthand.

Boooooooo

Thanks! Maybe I'll go ahead and do it. Once this SUB and referral points come through, I will officially have enough in URs and GCs to pay off our trip!
The Stanley Cup is hockey :rotfl:

We watch both...everyone here..(except for my son-in-law who is a Ranger fan) is happy the Islanders sweep the Penguins
I don’t like or dislike the penguins or the islanders so I didn’t care too much about that series. I didn’t make a bracket this year and I’m glad. I honestly could care less about the lightning being out too. I really only care about the jets and I want the predators to lose lol

2019 Christmas Spectacular tickets are on sale. This is part of dd's 16th birthday present. Some of the tickets say Standard Admission and some say Chase Cardmember Preferred Seating. Anybody have any experience with this? I'm just on the regular Ticketmaster site.

Dh and I go out and do things together but I’m really not great at socializing. I’m hoping when we move we have a community pool and I’ll try to meet some people there. I’m also planning on volunteering a lot after we move
I was kind of like that before kids but nothing forced socialization better than having kids. You take them to the park or the pool and they just start playing with some random kid and now you’re chatting with their parents. Great way to meet others!

Wow, someone on r/churning decided they just won't report their 1099 referral bonuses to the IRS. :sad2:

That person would have had much less audit risk had they reported the 1099 income and then reported reductions for whatever expenses or adjustments they have. There is an automated matching so it’s almost a certainty they will receive a letter. Then, the IRS will absolutely have eyes on their expenses and/or valuation adjustments. The other way, it may have gone right through without issues.

I’d rather stay in and watch Netflix or read a book than go out socializing. It’s like a chore sometimes meeting up with friends lol I’d rather them come over to my place and order take out or something. I do miss them now that I’m in VA. I have no friends here. My apartment has community events every month and it’s a bunch of young professionals like us but I’d rather not do that. lol

I'm terrible about meeting people. And a happy homebody. It's my biggest fear about moving really, attempting to make new friends.

You got your CIU on or about 2/20. Three months out is just around the corner, around 5/20. Another 80k UR SUB from a CIP#2 is too hard to turn down (and do you still have an open CIP to use for support for another 20k UR?), especially if you're only about a month away from applying. I'd spend the next month getting your Chase credit lines in check. And if you want another MSR to work on, consider a business card that won't take you to 5/24. If you do decide to go for CIP#2, that'll still leave you at 4/24. Is there really no Chase card that interests you? Hyatt maybe?

I do have an open CIP so if I can self refer than that is definitely too good to pass up. I suppose I can just bide my time for another month. Put some spend on my Barclay's JetBlue so that I increase my odds when applying for an Arrival+.

I don't currently have any Hyatt points so that's why it isn't really on my radar. I guess it doesn't hurt to diversify though. Not gonna lie, I've thought of going out guns blazing past 5/24 and picking up a Starbucks card for my last app LOL.

Thanks for the advice!

I think your post caught @SouthFayetteFan 's attention because P2 has a stash of MR he'd like to cash out, but P2 got the pop-up on the Schwab Platinum last year during triple dip season so he decided to hold off. For him, this method isn't really helpful because I don't think P2 has a Platinum to cash out even at 1 cpp.
Yeah... ::sad trombone:: ...back to Home Depot and Olive Garden gift cards for me LOL!

I will admit that in a dark alone moment I considered pulling something like this (but not this exact move). It was truly a very frustrating piece of my taxes this year (especially since it affected my whole strategy and some phase outs).

Obviously I ultimately did the right thing. :)

I think the Hyatt card is worth looking at. That'll probably be the card that takes me over 5/24 again eventually. The Hyatt card gets you Discoverist status, an anniversary Cat. 1-4 FN cert., and a tiered 50k bonus after $6k/6 months spend. UR transfers to Hyatt 1:1 so you can add to your Hyatt SUB balance, and is usually regarded as a deal as far as redemptions go.

Yeah, but as of yesterday, those stars have been massively devalued. You're not going to get nearly the same amount of espresso drinks, sandwiches, salads, or protein boxes as you would've before.

I just noticed my mortgage statement says “any partial payments that you make are not applied to your mortgage, but instead are held in a separate suspense account. If you pay the balance of a partial payment, the funds will then be applied to your mortgage.” So it sounds like I can use Plastiq and MCGCs to make some partial payments and then make a payment for the balance. I wonder if it will work as easily as it sounds. I wish Plastiq would run another promotion with MasterPass. I need to find the ones with the 1% fee

I will soon be shopping for a preowned car for DD. Does anyone have any good ideas of how to harness that spend for rewards?
