I will soon be shopping for a preowned car for DD. Does anyone have any good ideas of how to harness that spend for rewards?
See how much they will let you pay with a card... maybe MSR? With DHs we could do $3k with no fees. I didn't inquire as to what the fees were because we didn't have an MSR at the time, so we did just the $3000... plus the sales guy first told us that was the limit and then mentioned more after the fact that there was a fee above that amount, in a "who would do that anyways" tone, and DH had already written a check for the rest, so... :badpc:

Another Altitude Reserve shutdown on Reddit. The takeaway seems to be (at least to me) do not put a single charge of $3k or more on this card. $2k is reported to be ok, my biggest single charge was $1900 and I was fine. People are being shutdown despite organic spending according to a comment and one said they were even a Private Client.

So the key to staying alive longer might be socializing? I may be in trouble....lol
My dad’s mom was 91 when she passed. She lived alone until 90.5. Very active, walked to the post office and convenience store. My dad, very active, worked out at the gym 3x per week. Played golf at least twice weekly during summers. Also played tennis when younger. Got prostate cancer at 67, another cancer at 72, died at 74 from second cancer. Hope I have grandma’s genes, not dad’s.

The real secret is some good genes.

Now how can I get me some of those?! I started getting gray hair at 22, and at 37 I have a solid streak up front (I call it my Anna-streak!), so I hope that's no indication!

ETA: I saw your next post, it reminded me of something... my dad's mom has had several heart attacks, mostly when she was in her late 50's. She's 79 now, but not in the best of health. My dad, who is one of the healthiest guys you'll meet. Never drank, never smoked, ate pretty healthy, went to the gym a lot. Had a widow-maker heart attack at age 52, while leaving the gym. He lived, thank goodness, and they told him it was genetics that contributed. My son has congenital heart defects, so although I don't have any issues now, it's definitely something I'm aware of!

wrong quote! meant to quote amalone's above about being terrible at meeting people!

I was too, but like someone said previously, having kids in school and activities exposed me to a lot of people. If no children, it can be harder, but I always encouraged my kids to join groups or clubs to find like-minded people. Of course, my DS works from home and associates with people while playing video games (some of those people he knows personally, some not).

I just noticed my mortgage statement says “any partial payments that you make are not applied to your mortgage, but instead are held in a separate suspense account. If you pay the balance of a partial payment, the funds will then be applied to your mortgage.” So it sounds like I can use Plastiq and MCGCs to make some partial payments and then make a payment for the balance. I wonder if it will work as easily as it sounds. I wish Plastiq would run another promotion with MasterPass. I need to find the ones with the 1% fee

Navy fed?

Did you lower your cash advance limit first?

Yes I did.

Awesome! Just curious are you in one of those states that was listed? AR, IA, KS, MN, MO, NE, OK, or TX. I'm not but it still seems like you'd be able to do it, just not get the increased APY.

No, I’m in RI

And yes, horses get transported on cargo planes! Here's a good article on it with a video showing how they're loaded on the planes and travel. Not something I've ever had to do, but definitely happens more than you think. Lots of people import horses from Europe or will fly to Europe to show at some of the biggest shows.

Another weird thing that gets shipped in cargo planes is racecars. With Indycar they basically take the wheels and wings off and then bag the car up.
