Hit my MSR on my CIU and my SUB is pending (attached to the purchase that put me over apparently)
Now I'm not sure what to do next. I am 4/24. The only other thing I am really interested in with Chase is a second CIP, but it's too soon since my CIU app for that.

I am interested in the Arrival+ as I think it would be good to help cover the costs of future DCL trips.

I am also interested in the Amex Gold card.

Not sure if now is the right time for either of those.

Help!

I'd go for CIP2 since that's 105K URs minimum... I will say that I love my AMEX Gold card for dining and groceries. It's bringing in a good amount of MRs without much spend on it. I like it better than my Chase Hyatt, but I do like the Hyatt card because the staggered MSR period made it less stressful plus the status and the Hyatt points of course.

An Escape Lounge is coming soon to PVD.

Ooh nice! Enjoy that @tink1970! That's one thing we didn't really consider when looking at colleges, and it's actually a really nice perk to have. DD was stuck at the PHL airport for almost 12 hours and the Centurion lounge there (and the one at DFW since they rerouted her in the end) was a lifesaver there.

Someone is using my CIC to pay for their Uber rides:(

Yuck. I wonder if it's just that all internet security is a joke these days or if having all these cards make this stuff far more likely. It's probably a combination of the two. Glad you caught it.

Wow, someone on r/churning decided they just won't report their 1099 referral bonuses to the IRS. :sad2:

Oh that's just asking for an audit... What do they know of fear? Love the reference, BTW. :rotfl:

I was kind of like that before kids but nothing forced socialization better than having kids. You take them to the park or the pool and they just start playing with some random kid and now you’re chatting with their parents. Great way to meet others!

Totally agree. And I only have one! But just recently I've met up with friends (one at a time) that I've met through DD's preschool, grade school, middle school, high school, gymnastics team, and ballet. Some of the people I've met are kind of scary (gym moms, dance moms, etc.) but there's always at least one really great person to make friends with. I also have a Disney pal who had younger kids at my DD's school, but we met and became friends at the Grand Wailea pool while our kids played together ages ago. And now that all of our kids are graduating from college it's really fun to meet up and hear what's next for them. ;)

I have a question........ I opened Amex Delta Plat at the end of March, finished MSR so I applied for CIP today.......and got “we need more time”. When I called, it says “30days” message. Should I have waited at least 30 days before applying for CIP? With new Ames Delta Plat, I’m 1/24 but not sure if I made a mistake applying 2 cards within 30 days....

I will say that I love my AMEX Gold card for dining and groceries. It's bringing in a good amount of MRs without much spend on it. Plus it has the 20K referral link if you want more AMEX cards. I like it better than my Chase Hyatt, but I do like the Hyatt card because the staggered MSR period made it less stressful plus the status and the Hyatt points of course.

Small correction: The Amex (personal) Gold has a referral bonus of only 10k MR. The Amex BGR/Biz Gold has a referral bonus of 20k MR. I do agree that the personal Gold is my go-to for dining and groceries and the 4x MR brings in a lot of points every month, especially when my local supermarkets run a promo on VGC/MCGCs.

IIRC, you can ask Chase to lower the cash advance limit on your cards to $0, but depending on the card product (like the CIP) Chase may respond that the minimum they can lower it to is $100.
So if your cash advance limit is 100, and you fund the bank account with any amount greater than that, are you safe?

The "1/30 rule" for Chase business cards is Chase will not approve you for one of its business cards if you have gotten another (personal or business) Chase card in the last 30 days. (Only 1 card in 30 days.) Your application with Amex doesn't count for cards opened with Chase in the last 30 days.

Most Chase business card applications are not instantly approved and get the "we need more time" message. Keep calling the automated status line. 30 days is normal. If it goes to 2 weeks, it's looking good you'll be approved eventually. If it changes to 7-10 days, that's a likely denial and you'll get a letter in the mail with a reason why (could be something as simple as verification). If you hear the "you've been approved" message, congratulations! Good luck!

You're welcome!! I have done my good churning deed for the day now :thumbsup2 :) :littleangel: :cloud9:

Also FYI: From what you've shared, you're getting over 1.5cpp on that redemption, that is a GREAT get!!! Many of us struggle to find a value of 0.7cpp on Marriott and you're getting over twice that :)

The Bonvoy also gives 4 points for restaurants and gas stations, which I think is pretty good. It gives 6 points for staying at a Marriott but I think the 4 points per dollar is a pretty good for those categories.

Thank you so much! That made me feel much better, I wasn’t sure if it is only 1application/30 days for all issuers or not

if ur interested in their logistics and reasoning, this guy does a good job explaining it...

This video cracks me up because it's almost a complaint rather than informational. They'd never make it in Nascar with all the criss crossing of the country they do. I mean the races being 1,000 miles apart wouldn't be a problem if they didn't need all the hospitality and other stuff which is needed because of the nature of the tracks they are at using a lot of streets and not having permanent structures or just their superiority complex and need to show off. (I know it's a much more popular sport outside of the US, but they just scream excess to me). They also seem to just take too much stuff.

Indycar only ships the tires via barge, everything else is sent via plane and is organized by the sanctioning body. Each team is given the same allotment of cars, pieces and weight. With the exception of the Indy 500, they use offices in the front of each car hauler trailer for each engineer and a lot of car owners have motor coaches they use. Nascar is similar. The 500 the space is provided so office stuff has to be sent so they can have an entire set up. A lot of the office supplies I sent the first year I was still sending 5 years later because they didn't use it but had to have it!

For Citi AA Advantage Biz, I thought someone said they bought two $100 gift cards and one $50 gift card on aa.com. It seems like you can buy a $250 e-gift card. Is there any reason not to do that?

Thanks for catching this. I took that part out of the original post so nobody will use that misinformation. This is why I'm reluctant to respond much of the time, but I really want to help out since this thread has been so helpful to me. I guess I need to refer to DH's spreadsheet but there are so many sheets now I can't even find what I'm looking for anymore.

I’d rather stay in and watch Netflix or read a book than go out socializing. It’s like a chore sometimes meeting up with friends lol I’d rather them come over to my place and order take out or something. I do miss them now that I’m in VA. I have no friends here. My apartment has community events every month and it’s a bunch of young professionals like us but I’d rather not do that. lol
Lol you sound a lot like me. I would much rather stay home and read or watch Netflix. I just don't have a lot of fun going out with other people. If we're going to move then sure haha. Honestly, Dh and I don't mind being at home together or doing things just us. I think for some people it just works. We rarely get sick of each other so it's not usually a problem. My parents are a completely different story. They do almost nothing together.

My dad’s mom was 91 when she passed. She lived alone until 90.5. Very active, walked to the post office and convenience store. My dad, very active, worked out at the gym 3x per week. Played golf at least twice weekly during summers. Also played tennis when younger. Got prostate cancer at 67, another cancer at 72, died at 74 from second cancer. Hope I have grandma’s genes, not dad’s.
I'm adopted so I have no idea how my genes are lol. Hopefully I got some good ones
