**Disney After Hours-Hollywood Studios** FAQ & Discussion Thread

That's a really good point, I totally forgot I could walk! And I'm staying at Yacht Club so it's kind of amazing I forgot that, haha. I was thinking how very long it would take to use Disney transportation between parks. Thank you!
That walk is so convenient! Maybe take the transportation back to YC depending on how tired you are haha

I attended the April 6th After Hours and absolutely loved it! I don't know how I'll ever go back to regular park days after this. We didn't have day tickets and were let in around 6:40. Started with FP for Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster then did Star Tours (walk on), met BB8 (maybe 2 groups on front of us) & Kylo Ren (no wait). Once the event started, we did Toy Story Mania multiple times (probably 7 in total?) No wait and a few times we were able to ride again without even getting out of the vehicle. We did Slinky Dog twice (maybe 10 minute wait each time), Swirling Saucers once, another ride on Rock N Roller Coaster and 4 or 5 more rides on Tower of Terror. We didn't do any characters once the event started, though I did get my husband's picture with Buzz, as he was just wandering around Toy Story Land looking lonely (this was right at the end of the night). I was a little frustrated with some of the snack carts (ie. had to visit a specific cart to get my husband Coke Zero...then stuck waiting in line behind several people buying souvenir cups...waste of time. Visited at least two carts that ran out of bottled water and had to go elsewhere. Some carts only had ice cream, no popcorn. No snack cart in Toy Story Land). But it was amazing to be in the park without crowds and I was completely satisfied with the low/no wait times for all the rides.

Just trying to understand all this...(I'm new to the DAH scene 8-))

1) There are no FP+ during DAH. Right?

2) In the above scenario, kikibrown is entering the park on a DAH ticket (no other ticket like park hopper etc). The DAH ticket allows you to make FP+ selections for that day up until the start of "after hours"? Is that correct?

3) A kind of related question. If you do have days left on your park hopper ticket and you have a DAH ticket, assuming you have not used your park hopper on the DAH day, how do you prevent the park hopper from being used when entering for the DAH at 7:00 pm (since they are both linked on your magic band)?

Yes, we are getting into Orlando on 6/14 and are only going to HS after hours, no other parks. I was able to make 6:05-7:05 for RNR, 7:15-8:15 for HTOT, and 8:20-8:35 Fantasmic FastPasses. Thanks for helping a newbie!

Just got our tickets for May the 4th. We are excited about the addition of some Star Wars meets like Phasma and Rey. Only thing Im worried about now is that the party will be much more crowded because it's a "special event".
We are going that night as well and I am worried they will oversell this event. But, it should be fun. We are doing costumes, will it be strange if we arrive to the park around 7 for Fantasmic, already dressed in costume? Will that be allowed?

We’ve there on the 4th too. Regardless of the popularity it’s still a limited event and even when sold out, DHS DAH events were getting positive reports. I’d be surprised if it didn’t sell out, but it won’t be any more crowded than any other sold out evening.

I’m doing all 3 DAH’s- sort of a test run. If they turn out as I hope, it will completely change how we tour the parks.

To me, it would depend on the participants and what they enjoy. When taking my granddaughter (4) I would do MK, but with my daughter (15) we would likely choose HS to ride TSM, RNRC and TOT multiple times. We also enjoy AK after hours but wouldn't choose that one if only picking one.

We are struggling with choosing a park also. We had planned on all three but not sure if we will be able to afford it. Hubby wanted MK or AK and kids want DHS. Kids are all teens. We are leaning towards DHS or AK mainly because there are a couple of EMH at MK during our trip. The other parks don't have them. Our plan is not to do any early mornings and mainly tour at night.

If you could only pick DAH at MK, DAK, or HS, which would you pick?

Tough call and it would depend on my reasons for wanting to do any of them. HS allows you to ride SDD with short waits, AK is great for FOP. But for the most rides and park experience, MK hands down. I couldn’t decide, so I’m doing them all! lol Easier choice for me though, just 2 of us and an AP discount made it not so pricey.

We are waiting to see if they do an after hours for DHS this December. I am hoping when the dates for the latest ones expire, we might know!

Would be even better if you watch from Japan or France. You'd be very close to the IG exit. That's what I'm going to do on the 17th

Booked for May 10th! We were on the fence since we did the AK AH and didn't think it was worth it (even with our AP discount), but I think we'll get more out of HS. More attractions and closer together, plus we're celebrating both of our kiddos birthdays, so we're giving it a try. I've been enjoying the reports back...trying to get our strategy together! :)

I am torn.

AP rates just came out past June and I can get some decent deals. I currently have 4 nights in June and am planning on doing DAH in HS. Do I just keep what I have, or book for July and hope DAH in HS is extended?

Did you get the AP rate for your June stay? That discount is much better than the new AP rates.

Personally, I wouldn’t rebook, but I really want to do the DAH’s. You could hedge your bets and book for July and wait to see if DAH dates open. If they don’t, you can always cancel.

I do have the June AP rate. It is slightly better, but the flights seem to be worse. I did really want DAH at HS (I could still make MK work in July) so I should probably just keep it. Plus I have some ADRs and my FP+ already picked. :)

I'll just keep checking airfare. I can't see it going up any more than it already is (about 2x what I normally pay) :crazy2:

I know nobody knows ... but what's the consensus of this group? Do you think DAH will continue at least through early August (before Star Wars opens)?
