Plastic drawer towers - mine falls apart when moving from van to tent!

I have seen a lot of people using plastic drawer towers. I love the concept so I gave it a shot on a tent camping trip. But in practical use, I found them a complete pain to transport from van to tent, especially when packed full of clothes! They were awkward and the plastic frames kept coming apart.

Any tips? I loved them for practical storage and easy access!

I think I have what you are referring to. I haven’t had a problem with mine coming apart, the problem I have is we usually have to much weight on the top that it’s a pain to open and close the first drawer.

Yes that is what I am talking about. I found it such a pain getting it from the van to the tent that I quickly gave up on using it after a couple of camping trips. Would love a good hack to make it usable again as I loved it for organizing the tent.

Never have used them for this purpose, but my tip would be like moving 'any' chests with full drawers - take the drawers out, then replace them after moving the base!

I used them in our motorhome at one time - packed the drawers in our home, then placed them in the mh. Don't need them anymore.

We just bought some of these for a pop-up, after about 15 years of pop-up camping! Have not even used them yet. I fully plan to pack the drawers at home, move to the van, and ultimately to the pop-up while not in the frame. The frames will ride on the floor of the pop-up and we will slide the full drawers into them once we set up.

I wish I had counter space for ones as wide as @snowmedic posted. I had to get two sets of narrow ones and we are stacking them.

We use a strap that goes all the way around and ratchets a snug fit to keep it all together during transport. Take it off when we are setting up camp. The one we use is about an inch wide, but they come in various widths. Just be careful that you don't crank the ratchet too snug or it break the plastic.

That sounds perfect. Bet bungee cords (especially flat ones) would do the trick too. Added flat bungees to my cart. Then realized these ratchet straps could come in handy in other ways (maybe even tying up my tarps or my hammocks!) so added them too lol.
