Halloween Time Superthread 2019: "Oogie Boogie Bash" Party to Be Held in DCA ONLY! and Other Halloween Time Information

I tried to scan the barcode and the number, they scan fine, the number pops up, and the app says it is not a valid ticket. I think it is just looking for actual park entry tickets and not hard ticket event tickets.
You might want to give Guest Services a call about this. That's odd that the tickets scan fine, but then come up as invalid. Our MHP tickets have always scanned in without a problem in the past. Hmmm...

Disneyland Paris’ Halloween season is amazing, like the best time to go in my eyes, but their Halloween parties completely let it down, not any characters that aren’t out every day during Halloween (minus Edgar last year) for £70, for a character person it’s just not worth it unfortunately.
Thanks for sharing. I've heard that DL's Halloween party is the best out of all the parks but I still want to go to them all...lol

I've done all three and can confirm: yes, it is. :D

Mitchell has already summed up Paris perfectly. It used to be great with a cavalcade after which you could meet most characters - that's how DBF got an Esmeralda photo and not me. *sighs* But they scaled back a lot and it is not worth it anymore.

I had lots of fun at the WDW party too (especially because it had some characters that I hadn't seen), but after a week I was ready to "come home" - I had done a split stay in 2017, WDW for Halloween and DL for Christmas season.

EDITED TO ADD: Regarding the scanning issue, I had gone for e-tickets and was very delighted to see that they were added to the app automatically.

Can you guys help me? I’ll be in LA area the first week of October with my gf. We have the possibility to choose any of these 3 days to go do DL one day only

Oct. 1 – Tuesday – Halloween at DCA

Oct 2 – Wednesday – Nothing on calendar

Oct. 3 – Thursday - Halloween at DCA

As we want to go to DL, which day do you think will be the less crowded?

I’m trying to think as the crowd: On a Halloween at DCA day, a lot of people will come do DL because DCA will have less hours. But at the same time if I think this way and choose to go on Wednesday, I believe a lot of people will think the same to escape the crowd of the DL on the Halloween at DCA day and DL will be worst on the Wednesday.

Appreciate any help you guys can give me to choose the better day.
sorry for my bad English.

Thanks

Anymore tips for me on this question? I appreciate any help as I'm having a difficult time to choose the day.
thanks again!

I don't think there is going to be a huge difference in any of those days. I would go with whichever day(s) work best for your trip and schedule. Do you have to decide now? If you can wait until mid-to-late-August, I would see what the published schedule looks like and see if any day has longer hours or better entertainment offerings.

hmm thanks for the reply.
The only difference would be the hotel day in Anaheim.
I'll wait for the the schedule so

again, thank you

If you still need to book your hotel you may not want to wait for the schedule. Prices are pretty high now already due to SWGE. If you wait til the schedule comes up you will have even more limited options at even higher prices.

You can make any of these days work, I agree. Is there anything special you want to do or see during your day?

After reading all the SW stuff this morning... I am second guessing staying off site... we have always stayed on site, enjoy the perks, but I thought that this year since we are doing OBB one night, and two park days only (3rd day doing Universal) that we would save a couple bucks and stay off site... now I wonder if I should move us to PPH in case that will help us with seeing SWGE on one of our two park days. I know none of you have a crystal ball... and it will be October, things will be busy I know, but they will literally have had months to get things figured out right? The max pass entry or whatever will come after this reservation period... what do you all think?

Dumb question.

I know Oogie Boogie Bash is brand new at DCA.

When it's NOT a party night, does WOC show the regular show? Or is it Villains for the entirety of Halloween season?

If they do things like they did at DL it will be the regular show on regular nights and the Halloween party show on Halloween party nights... I don’t know how easy WOC can switch between shows. But at DL the NBC fireworks were only on MHP nights.

WOC is able to present two entirely different shows on the same night. They did this during the holiday season during the 60th. One show was the holiday show the other the 60th show. It's all on a programming board so it's a matter of picking which set of programming they are using at that show time.

Does anyone know if the Oogie Boogie bash @ DCA is replacing Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party Or will they be happening at the same time? The tickets that are on sale for Oogie Boogie are only for Sun/Tue/Thurs so is it safe to assume Mickeys not so scary Halloween is on Fri and Saturday?

We are thinking of attending the halloween party on halloween - is this a very crowded day?

The Halloween party tends to be one of the very first parties to sell out and is guaranteed to be a sold out event each year. That being said, a lot of parties sell out and the party on Halloween shouldn’t be any busier than any other sold out party.

I went last year for the first time on Halloween night and it was packed! Way more than what I am used to. We usually go the 3rd Friday in October. I'll stitch to my original plan going forward.

Prices for October have been high for some time now. We're going the third week in Oct and there's a convention that week so, prices have pretty much doubled!

Yes. Even September was pretty bad already. I'm staying with friends most trip, but they don't have their schedules yet. So I have had backup reservations since January. Even then the prices were about 20 to 30 Dollars higher than I am used to

To clarify: MNSSHP is only at WDW. Mickey's Halloween Party (MHP) used to be at DL up until last year. This year, the Halloween Party is the Oogie Boogie Bash at DCA (not DL). There are no parties at all on Fridays or Saturdays during Halloween Time this year.
Look at the first post in this Superthread; all the information you want is there.
