Arriving at 10:00am on a Saturday in June?

@leiaorgana,

I'm so clueless about Seaworld -- I haven't been since I was a kid and remember little to nothing.

We've also got all-day dining, so that's something else to figure out.

I wish someone could just tell me what to do and the order in which to do it, lol.

Sorry, @maryj11, didn't mean to hijack your thread!

I will give you the strategy we use.

Go to the website and check the show times of the day you will be there. Decide which shows you want to see and the times and make a list. The daytime and night time shows are different and we do not miss any of them.

After you know the schedule for the shows you want to see, work everything else you want to do in between the show times. We don't plan that part out really except to try to do the things that are in the part of the park we are in. I consider there to be two parts. The main part is the front of the park and the back part which is where the shamu stadium is in. The back part is the area with sesame street is in. Even if you do not have little kids it is still a fun area and since you have all day dinning, the food trucks in that area are included in all day dinning and have some good food. We really liked the grilled cheese place although I wasn't over thrilled with the chicken strips. They were good, but not my favorite.

If you send me a private message with your email address, I have a file of all the menus that are on the all day dining so you can get an idea of what you will be looking for.

If you have not been in a long time, it is completely changed. I think if you have nothing else planned you should add another day on to your visit esp if you want to ride a lot of the rides. On infinity falls you can expect to get wet, but we still rode it over and over because it is so much fun.

There are so many things to see and I can spend quite a while just touching the stingrays, watching the dolphins in the nursery area, they never disappoint.

Be sure to get in a preformance of pets ahoy and try to see the turtle trek. The area the turtle trek is in is a hidden gem that I think a lot of people miss.

I think SW all day dinning is the best bargain in orlando. So many food choices and unlimited drinks all day alone make it worth the cost for us. I was just disappointed on my last trip because there was only one place with watermelon. My favorite fruit of all time so I kept having to swing by there to get my fix.

Can you tell us a few of the shows that are a must see?

We have a sticky about the menus that
are kept up to date

Many current photos of the menus for various places at Seaworld

Can you tell us a few of the shows that are a must see?

In my opinion ALL of them.

I think the more you see of them, the more you appreciate the incredible work that is done.

Like the pets ahoy show. This is a show a lot of people skip which is why I always specifically recommend. They are rescued animals and it can be anything from dogs and cats to rats, ducks. birds, pigs, etc. It is so amazing to me how they can at one point have so many different animals doing what they do (well mostly) at the same time.

In the dolphin shows I really like seeing the rewards they give the animals because they try to give each animal what they like most. Usually it is just fish, but I have seen them giving a bucket of slushy I guess water, or using a hose to hose them down. They do the same thing with the whales. But you do know killer whales are not whales at all, they are dolphins. I call them big black dogs, because if you stay in the stadium after the show you can sometimes see them playing fetch with the trainers. Usually with a feather a bird has dropped. If you stop by the underwater viewing area not just before a show, you can sometimes get them to interact with you. Just before a show they are too excited.

I love clyde and seamore the sea lions because they usually have a mime before the show that can be so funny. I highly recommend getting there early. (at least 20 min before show time)

One of my favorites I would always visit was the polar bear. Unfortunately he died a few years back. And I so miss Tilly. The killer whale show is just not the same without him.

My son has been going since he was a very small boy. He is 36 now. We go at least twice when we are in the area and we see every show every time we are there.

I don't know which show I would leave out if I could not do them all. Back on 9/11 2001 we were there and the park was closed at 1pm.
(they said out of respect for what had happened in NY and Washington DC. I was totally confused because I didn't know anything had happened)

We went again the next day, but they again shut down at 1pm. That is the only visit I did not see everything in the park during our stay. I was willing to risk it, but I did see how they could be nervous with what had happened.

I love all the parks in the area, even though I no longer do disney because I am just so disappointed in what it has become, but if I could only chose one, it would be SW. That would be easy.

Thank you for all the great information! I think you have a lot of knowledge about SW. I'm glad you took the time to answer all my questions. Usually when I post here I get very few answers. That's why I have been asking so many while I got you on here. I'm thankful.
I never knew the Killer whales would play with feathers and want to interact. I think they are the ones I'm most fascinated with. I will definitely try to stop by there when there is no show. I'm thinking of booking the killer whale tour.
We will try to see as many shows as we can get in for one day.

Thanks for the info. I guess as far as planning our day, I'll use the shows as a starting point, as you suggested. I know we'll get soaked on Infinity Falls, but how wet can we expect to get on Journey to Atlantis? I think I've decided we'll spend the ENTIRE day there. We're not doing any other theme parks this trip, so I think we can handle one day of rope drop to closing. There is just so much to do and I don't know if can make a second day work.

A lot depends on Atlantis. Where you sit, how much weight is in the boat. Expect to get wet. A little or a lot will just depend.
