Nah. They make me feel old too.You need to hang out with older people...
No mate. We have no Public holiday celebrations to mark any of the Monarchs, historical or contemporary. There are several traditions tied to specific Kings & Queens but they don't really get much coverage, they are more a Historical society thing. The closest thing we have I guess is Remembrance Sunday.
There some days I don't work at all - they're called weekdays.
Morning gents.
Um... That's about it. Not much more to report. Work, work, work and more work.
Anniversary tomorrow 24th which is why I stopped. She is still on probation for a couple of more years as I was 28 when we started dating and she hasn't been with me to the break even point yet but I wouldn't want to break in a new one at this point either.
Mentioned it before that coaching this team meant a lot to me, one last chance to be part of something with Declan. And another one of the parents told DW that it was nice that I was the coach for some of the boys when they first started playing in grade 6 and was there when they finished school ball in grade 12. I have a feeling the banquet tomorrow night may be a bit dusty.

Very happy for you and Declan! Was thinking about how they did yesterday and saw a post you were tagged in by DW but didn't include result but did have a pic with the medals so I thought they won the whole thing, but lloks like it was still a great weekend and end to their playing days. Great memories that the two of you will have for the rest of your lives. All the road trips, the injuries (luckily none major) and just the time together as Father & Son. Well done Dad!It's been an up and down weekend so far. Our boys fell just short of winning the banner at volleyball provincials. We lost 2 games to 1 (15-11) in the third set. It was a great match, the boys worked their butts off and never gave up. They could have easily packed it after losing the first set, especially given that the other team destroyed us in the round-robin the night before.

Tonight we get to see Declan and some of the same boys compete for the title of the Lion King. A light-hearted and comical pageant of sorts that the grade 12 boys compete in as a fundraiser for the Safe Grad. Should be an interesting evening.
Happy Victoria Day!!
Always love it when we celebrate some old Queen and get the day off.

Sounds like it's time to put the next vacation date on the horizon.

I feel the opportunity for a communal frosty beverage presenting itself......That's the one we're doing too!

Happy anniversary mate to you and the lovely Mrs wasnotafan.
Congratulations to you both!
Thanks! After 24 years I can safely say that tonight's special plans consist of her falling asleep in the recliner and me trying to get a grant proposal written.Congrats to you both! Any special plans?

Well there's at least 100 minutes over the last 2 years that I could have spent on a better purpose than cooking up slightly disrespectful double entendres about princesses.

Afternoon gents! Not much here other than worked backside off yesterday around the house and just hanging with the family with a couple of nice pot roasts for dinner. Did book Spring Break trip for next year with just me and the boy to hit Galaxy's Edge for the first time (maybe second for me depending on DDCC8). Enjoy the families guys - cheers!
Norm, hope your youngest pulls through, but she still has 3 years. Sometimes at that age it is better to heal than play through. District track for us on Thursday. DD doesn't have much chance of state tournament unless everyone in the 4x400 has their best times of the season. If she sticks with it I look for her to do well in 300 m hurdles by her senior year. For a little school we might actually send 2 girls to the state tournament this year for high jump and 100 meter dash.

Morning, folks.
Happy Victoria Day (or May two four) to the other Canucks. Hey Dan, you celebrate that too?
I was shocked to find that this year is her 200th birthday and nary a mention. I only found out because I googled to see if we were celebrating birth, coronation or death anniversary.

Any of you dads have any experience with the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom board game? Is it any good? I was thinking of ordering one or two of them ahead of our trip so my girls had some of the cards for when we went.

Happy Monday. Is the week over? Youngest dd withdrew from regionals. I'm disappointed, but she's 14. Maybe it's a good thing she doesn't try to play thru pain.
... And, she's #1 at her HS as a freshman, and there isn't a close 2nd. I just hate that she didn't want to try. Good luck to your daughter as well.
Happy Anniversary. Yeah, it's one and done for me too. I bought this one a house and financed it over 20 years. What's the going rate for --ahem-- "escorts" by the hour?....
I have a few of them and they're not nearly as good as in the park.Any of you dads have any experience with the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom board game? Is it any good? I was thinking of ordering one or two of them ahead of our trip so my girls had some of the cards for when we went.
