Off topic, but I mentioned that I needed 40,000 points (was actually more like 65,000+). Dh checked his account and he had 34,000 points which he transferred to me. I purchased another 24,000 (I'm now maxed out for 2019). Then I realized that the 100% bonus points promo is still running, so I purchased more points on dh's account and transferred them to my account. Now I have enough for the extra night next year. Turns out the cost to purchase the additional point is the exact same as the Daily Getaways deals, so now I don't have to wake up in the middle of the night in Japan to try to snag a deal. I am seriously considering trying for one of the Hyatt points packages as I can use them in a heartbeat and I think they are a great value (at least for us).

ask your friends whom u know that work for large corporations... maybe bribe them with some starbucks? ;)
I was hoping working for the largest food and beverage company in the world would do it, but apparently not lol. Not sure I know anyone else... hmm...
AAA Plus gives you 100 miles of towing. CSR and AMEX Platinum don't give you that.
This might be the reason I renew my AAA membership...

I have 4 flights for our Hawaii trip. Austin to Oakland where we decided to stop for 2 nights. Then Oakland to Honolulu. Coming home we have Honolulu to Phoenix, then the next day Phoenix to Austin. I think I could have continued on to HNL from Oak, but we decided to spend a day exploring the area. As for coming back, SW only goes so far and I don't think they'll do connecting flights over 2 days. SW doesn't do red-eye flights where other airlines do, small disadvantage.

Pretty much what we are doing for our March 2020 trip to Hawaii. Positioning flight on SW from IND to either oakland or sj. Leave next day for HNL in the morning. Leave OGG and fly back to cali via SW. Fly back to IND the next day. Hope it also helps to get used to the time difference.

haha, no, im going this coming Friday. am told they will force us to put our phones into bags so no pictures allowed :(
only task i have so far is to look for Ewoks for @Lain wife lol
Can you pm me details on how to get this match? Staying at the Hyatt MCO this week.

I just dug out the CSR book :) says it covers up to $50 4xs a year.
That doesn’t seem like much. A tow around here is at least $75-100. And once when DH was t-boned in a busy intersection it was 250 or 300 (I don’t remember exactly) because the police call the tow to clear the intersection and you get no say in the matter.

Wow! What great info, especially in regards to the pooling! Quick and thorough.
I'm afraid I'll miss somebody because traffic on here is fast & furious, so I'll post a sincere :thanks:for all the suggestions & answers so far.

I initially ventured out beyond DIS Visa & DISC because I realized we could capture so much more than 1% rewards on money we were spending anyway. I don't think I'm up to the challenge of heavy churning, so something that earns >1% back coupled with a generous SUB should fit the bill.

It sounds like I need to shoot for one (or more) of the CIP/CSP/CSR. I see a spreadsheet in my future....
Yes - a spreadsheet is a must :thumbsup2

Right? I guess I expected a bit more from them :confused3

+ $3/additional mile on the Plat, which iirc is better than AAA regular membership.

Not the last time I used it. I paid $28 for approximately a 20 mile tow. I have the regular membership. This was towing the Jeep to the shop September of last year. The first 5 miles were covered, so that would be about $2 a mile.

I'm curious now whether the rate has increased. Will call and check it out later. In any case I have no CSR or Plat. But even $3 a mile is not that bad. My tow was in heavy traffic and an uber or taxi would probably have cost more. The guy took my Jeep to my mechanic and then back tracked a bit to take me home.

Wasn't aware of this. I'll have to look into it. I know some places at Swolphin give 20% off... This last trip I remembered that but our charge at Picabu to trigger all the Brilliant/AMEX offer credits would have cut it close with 20% off so I didn't do it.
I forgot to use it at The Fountain, but our total was within $3 of our Brilliant credits so it might not have been helpful.
Is there a list of places that have a AAA discount? Because I looked all over their website and couldn’t access anything

I want the food one lol
OMG there’s a food one? I need it, even though I have no WDW trips coming up :(
Spoke too soon, looks like DHs (Edit: Barclays) AA Biz is in the mail today along with my employee card. So 5 days from app with auto approval to receipt of cards, including a weekend. 3 business days.

My app, on the other hand, is still pending.
You have to let us know if it arrives today. I was approved Thursday also, tried to expedite but they said they can’t. I have until Friday to pay DS’s travel soccer which would cover MSR in one charge . Fingers crossed.
IDK why but Barclays hates us here....
Citi hates DH. They think he has a delinquent account which is the one he closed 2 years ago. Citi being Citi.
Knew I'd forget something! I'm not 100% confident on pursuing a business card, but just realized P2's hobby-related sales could qualify. Hmm.....even more options to confuse me!
Also, how difficult is it to redeem UR? All of my experience so far has been cash-back through either gift card or purchase erasure, so it's been extremely flexible.
I know a few answered already, but URs are like a purchase eraser though for any purchase (or part of any purchase) No need to be a travel purchase or any other requirement. I just used some as a deposit to my bank account for some Disney GCs I bought, or it can be a statement credit. Or transferred to Airlines or hotel, or used to book travel including some events, museums, etc. I recently booked 3 cruise excursions with URs plus a sightseeing trip in Vancouver.

Great churning/travel day for me today. Informed delivery is showing my Barclays Jetblue business card and DH's employee cards are in the mail. Will use Plastiq targeted 1% Mastercard offer to pay my student loan then pay cable and phone to knock out the $1,000 MSR!

On Saturday, DH applied for the Amex Everyday and was approved and my referral fee of $100 statement credit posted today.

I also booked our tickets to Italy for spring break of next year. My dates are fixed so I didn't want to mess around and wait for lower fares. I booked what I could afford and now I can stop obsessing and just plan our tours and research our trip!:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

I budgeted $2,000 for flights and got that for 4 people on Non Stop Round Trip (JFK to Milan) on Emirates. We are spending Easter in ITALY!!!pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Yay for your tickets! We are going to Italy in the spring also! I don't have dates finalized yet. We were originally thinking May but the kids' homeschool activities always end around then. It's really not a good time for them to leave. So we may have to move it to April or June. I should probably actually start planning. :scratchin

Hi all... I don't know if you'll remember, but I posted here briefly back in October. I had every intention of participating but shortly after... my little Havanese puppy got sick and I was caring for her round the clock for 6 months before we lost her in February. She was my little shadow for 13 years and I miss her a great deal.

Spring is always a lovely time for new beginnings and with the nicer weather I'm beginning to think again about next year's travels. (This year's are already planned - Sept. in Hawaii and December at WDW:)) . @Albort You have my attention with the MLife>>Hyatt status thing. I'm a HUGE fan of the Grand Hyatt on Kauai, so you've peaked my curiosity, however, I am not a member of your Dis Churner's group (or reddit at all for that matter.. that place scares me! lol) Still... I've read back enough to know that I should ask for an invite and maybe finally learn the ins and outs of reddit. It seems I need to ask your great benevolent Dictator @SouthFayetteFan ? :worship: . I also read about @Haley R ! :rockband: Wow... so much cool stuff coming up for you!!! (Does that sound totally stalkerish cuz when I read it back, it does. Oh well. lol Do what you will with me, Budget Board rockstars.)

I have always been an Amex girl. Amex bought my Beach Club Villas contract (Charles Schwab, how I love thee), sent my husband and I and all four of our kids to Hawaii and to WDW two times each, introduced me to the fabulous Waldorf Astoria Orlando , pays for a monthly dinner "in" with my husband, and pays for lots of lovely little things whenever I stay at a Hilton (which is pretty often). I've focused solely on MRs since 2016 BUT... I suddenly find myself in possession of the much coveted CIP about 14 months sooner than I imagined ever possible. (thank you thank you DOC, you are my hero!) . So now... I need you people to teach me how to do Chase. And maybe, just maybe...

how to do life, without my puppy again.

We have an LP store at a local mall and... wow. It is BRIGHT. Hopefully I don't offend anyone here by saying this... but it's cute clothing if you're under the age of 7. At 30, I don't need to highlight certain areas of my body in neon pink...
Hey! I love our Lilly store!!!! The dressing rooms are so pretty. It's so U of R though (I'm not really the U or R type!).

I remember my mom went to a wedding of a friend's son and the groom made a comment the day after the wedding about the bride's butt in a pair of Lilly pants. Let's just say that marriage didn't last long.

And Lilly is my go to for DCL sundresses.
