The Broadway show thread where we discuss all things Broadway

We are seeing this in May. This weekend we see Hello Dolly with Betty Buckley, we are very excited!

I LOVE HER. Dolly is part of our season at PPAC next year, I'm considering opting out of it but if she were touring I would HAVE to keep that show.

I have heard that Mamma Mia is a crowd pleaser, it's our group's 75th anniversary season so they definitely wanted to do a show that would fill seats. I like that there are lots of female principal roles, we are very female-heavy and it can get frustrating when they keep choosing shows with a couple of good male parts and one female principal.

No - Cleveland

Are you seeing A Bronx Tale by any chance? We are seeing it next weekend, can't wait. Would have LOVED to have seen it in NYC with Chazz Palminteri in it but weren't able to get there before it ended.

Our tickets are for next Friday - but I need to call and change dates as it's my younger son's confirmation night.

We are going Sunday (28th) afternoon, really looking forward to it! It's one of my fiance's favorite movies so I bought them as a Christmas gift. When I got them, I did not realize he would be running the Football Hall of Fame Half Marathon that morning. He will have just enough time to shower & hop in the car and get to Cleveland!

We saw Paper Mill's "Benny & Joon" this past weekend. We are probably the only people that haven't seen the original movie, but we did know the story. I'm not totally sure I would go see it on Broadway, but the cast was outstanding. Bryce Pinkham was superb!

Same! Didn't see the move, but i thought it was pretty good! So happy Bryce was good, We Saw Conor Ryan as Sam and thought he was fabulous too!

I figured either "Sam" would be wonderful, since Conor was so good in "British Invasion"!

Going to see 'Benny & Joon' tomorrow. We haven't seen the movie either, but are looking forward to the show. Loved British Invasion!

Agreed, he was great in British Invasion as well!

Are you a subscriber? How do you feel about next season? I’m very mixed

Yes - we've been subscribers for years. Not thrilled with a repeat of Cinderella so soon- since they did a R&H version of it (not the latest Broadway version) a few years back. I've heard very good things about Chasing Rainbows (from Goodspeed) I'm sure we'll like Unmasked and Sister Act is good for a laugh. Hoping The Wanderer is good - we enjoyed seeing Dion live a number of years ago and enjoy his music and his stories.

My DS first show - and meeting up with an old friend ! The amazing Patti Murin (Anna) - such a sweetheart !
We loved it !l

We saw Beetlejuice a few weeks ago. My daughter (15) liked it but I was meh. The 2 leads were amazing but I just didn't love it.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago. I went in not expecting much, but ended up really enjoying it.

Won lottery tickets for Oklahoma last week. It was....interesting. Really enjoyed the actors, except Laurey :guilty: Really enjoyed Ado Annie and Curly. The set was.....interesting. The complimentary chili and cornbread at intermission were good! And Brian Stokes Mitchell was there so I was all giddy. :yay:

First post here....before the DVC Members Cruise in October, I will be going to see Frozen at a reduced price for DVC, and Ain’t to Proud! Looking forward to seeing these.

My last Broadway Show was seeing Tarzan in 2007. We all enjoyed it, but it closed soon after we saw it.
