Magic Bands Upgrade

I just received a call to let me know that the magic band I ordered is sold out and I can now only choose a solid color band - they are sold out of all upgraded bands and even some solid colors (I only hand a choice of 5 colors). Disappointed as my trip is a week, so there is nothing that can be done.

Did they call you unprompted, or did you contact them first? I'm wondering if they've stopped shipping/processing orders and are now trying to deal with them in the order of trips (so since your trip is next week, they called you, but since my trip isn't for a few more weeks, they haven't dealt with my order yet)? Since my order is stuck between the "confirmed" stage and the "shipped" stage, I'm hoping they'll give me an update soon...
 
The one that showed a blank circle for us but that did come correctly was a Thanos band. The one that showed a plain yellow and came as that instead of our upgraded band was a sorcerer Mickey. Did your Thanos one come correct also?



I just checked, and as of now there is not a charge for any of our three bands that came upgraded correct or the one that was supposed to be upgraded and came plain. Previously I had a pending charge for the $40 plus tax. Now I'm not sure if I should continue to pursue their offer of getting us the correct band, or if I should just buy the one we didn't get from shop disney. If I end up buying it I wish I had done it yesterday when they had free shipping, though! As soon as I buy it they'll contact me and offer to get me one, though, that's guaranteed!



Our blank circle one was a Thanos that did come correct. Did yours come?



This is what should have happened when something went out of stock instead of just shipping something random. However, in this disaster, I think it happened to too many people and by the time they contacted everyone this would have been the case - no alternatives to choose from. What a mess!

According to tracking, they should come sometime today. I will report back as soon as they come. Hoping they are all correct. They all showed correctly, except the blank Thanos. I am hoping it is just a glitch since your Thanos was blank and came correct.
 
We received our magic bands today, including 3 upgraded ones and a solid blue (free) one. All arrived as ordered, even though one of the upgraded ones showed up as a blank circle after the order was confirmed.
 


Our bands are supposed to arrive Friday. With two bands showing as non-upgraded in our account (despite having a confirmation email to the contrary), I guess it'll be a bit of a surprise what actually pops out of the box.

I'm a little hopeful since the bands we ordered that aren't showing up in our account are showing up as available on the Shop Disney site. It's a bit disconcerting that there are solid color bands showing up as linked to our names though. I'm feeling a bit bipolar about the whole thing.
 
My bands all arrived as ordered on Friday. My only complaint is they forgot to put the souvenir luggage tags on the box even though they shipped the luggage tag bands (clear plastic bands to affix tags to luggage) and gave the pamphlet showing us where the tags should have been.

I have perspective. I’m going to disney world. Also my luggage tags aren’t as dire as not getting what was ordered or site being down.

Also I support phases roll out based on arrival date. Which isn’t exactly the same as “first come first served” since that typically applies to early bird getting the worm which is exactly what happened. Be that as it may, I had a couple days left to customize so i didn’t “take” someone else’s band spot, I don’t think.

Not to be a downer, but we had that situation and the band came as a plain yellow one. I ordered Sorcerer Mickey for my son, and on MDE his showed a yellow band in the little circle by his name. When our bands arrived he got a plain yellow band and the rest of us got the ones we ordered. The sorcerer mickey band is available on shopdisney right now.

I hope you get the ones you ordered, though!
 


I ordered on Monday and got a shipping confirmation yesterday and tracked for eta on Friday.

Our trip isn’t until July so this is some quick turnaround and faster band delivery.

But as noted earlier, if we were to cancel our trip we would need to pay the $15 discount per premium magic band back to Disney. Just food for thought.
Same here...July trip and our bands are supposed to arrive Friday!!
 
anyone heard on when the upgraded magic bands will be restocked?
I did an online chat this am. I asked a polite question about when they might have the upcharge bands available again...and a rather unpleasant chat CM said they didn't know when or if they would ever restock.
I don't think she knew anything. I'm reasonably sure they will restock the upcharge bands.
FWIW, I just checked shop disney...they have a whopping total of 67 bands available for full price purchase.
 
Well, in an odd turn of events, MDE is now suddenly showing the correct magicband instead of the plain one which it had been doing for the last week or so. Also, the charge that had once been showing up as going through, then was showing up as pending, has now been completely removed. HA! No idea what is going on, but it does say my order is being fulfilled and is shipping soon and I can no longer edit it…so maybe I’ll actually get what I ordered? :confused3

Same here. I got three upgraded correct bands and a plain grey instead of Donald for my youngest despite having a correct confirmation email. No kind of notification from Disney of them swapping them out etc.
 
Wow. I would be pissed. That is unacceptable.
Exactly, and there is nothing in the box, no email, nothing indicating that they swapped it out. I was worried this would happen because it was showing Donald in MDE and then changed to grey. I talked to three different CMS and they all said visual error and then said ShopDisney would contact me if they sent something different, but NOTHING>

Not sure if they are shipping the others at normal time :confused3We start our stay June 28th.
Confirmation was correct, I am confused, but ah well...This was an epic Disney fail...

I have chatted with three CM's and to be honest, I don't think anyone of them really knew anything about this. Two gave me vague canned answers and one I felt was pretty much telling me that Disney would never send me something I didn't order in place of what I did without contacting me. (Welp, that happened)
 
I did call Disney. They took my info and said it was escalated and someone would reach back out to me. No idea on when or what that resolution will be. The CM was nice and friendly, but didn't have any answers. I reiterated that the biggest annoyance was the lack of communication and the lack of awareness of this problem and what steps or solutions are in place for those with incorrect orders.
 
This is what's happening to me (and a couple of other people, too, I think), and thus far I don't think any of us have gotten anywhere with guest services. I was told that they can't see anything during the time between "order confirmed" and "order shipped," and unfortunately, that seems to be where my order (and presumably your order) is stuck. They told me to call back this week (once I am over 10 days from Tuesday, the day I ordered) and maybe they'd have more information available by then. I'm not holding my breath.......
Thanks for responding! I'm Canadian so my order won't ship, I'll have to pick it up at the resort. I'm not holding my breath for mine.
