How to find a lifelong Disney partner???

So I am in my 40s and live in the Orlando area. When I posted online it was pretty obvious that I spend time and like Disney as I had pics of me at runDisney events, in the parks with my ears, etc. However I didn't specify they had to love or even like Disney. The crazy thing is my boyfriend jumped all in-like he started loving magic bands and pins. He purchased an AP. We go every week to the parks. It's great-but I never expected that. The funniest is he outnumbered me in purchased magic bands within like a week of getting his AP-he has like 30 and I still only have 2! Just look for someone you connect with.

With a little faith and trust, you'll get some pixie dust! The DIS is a great platform for putting yourself out there, though I never imagined it to be an online dating site. But five years ago, someone posted about getting divorced in his late 40's and I was going through the same thing, so after three months of commiserating through private messages, I took a solo trip from Canada, we met, and our friendship became much more...in fact, I met my soulmate. Long story short, we have been married five years and live in Central Florida - yes, we both love Disney, but found we have so much more in common, and now Disney, although still part of our lives, has taken somewhat of a back seat as we just enjoy all the time we can spend together, even if we're just snuggling on the couch in front of the tv every night. I think things like this happen when you least expect it or aren't even looking for it, like God meant them to, so have some patience and let it happen...your post may be just the start of something amazing!

Too bad you're a girl because you sound like my soulmate. LOL I am exactly the same type of person. I'm 47 and have absolutely zero interest in going out to bars and being social. I'm a total homebody that loves nothing more than being in my jammies and chilling at home. I don't really drink like my friends do, so sitting at a bar is pure hell to me, nor do I want to meet a man who hangs out in one. I have no kids nor do I want the drama of someone elses so my pickins are slim to none. I work and save all of my money for travel. I'm afraid of online dating sites these days because I hear nothing but horror stories of them being nothing but hook up sites. I have no idea where you go to meet someone that actually wants a partner? It's scary!

As long as we're putting ourselves out there. :earboy2: 44 years old male. Single. No children. Living in Montreal, Qc. I don't like bars... and don't really trust online dating. Spend most of my savings to go to Disney a couple of times per year. The exchange rate is killing my budget. I would like to retire to the Disney area or at least be a snowbird.

That's pretty much me too. I am 40 though, but have lots of the same issues. If you think people give you the side-eye because you love Disney, they really do it when they find out I don't drink. Most people think that's really weird and it can make them uncomfortable. Combine that with otehr "geek" hobbies like Disney, and most people are quite baffled.

Yes! I often feel like the outcast because of the not drinking thing. I can't say that I "don't" drink, but to most drinkers I don't. I just don't like the taste of it enough to bother. For me, I might have 1 or 2 while on vacation which is the equivalent of 1 or 2 every other month lol. My issue is that at this age, it takes me 3 days to recover and who has time for that? I hear you about making people uncomfortable. It's funny because I wouldn't want to live like the drinkers I know, and they think I'm the most boring person in the world, but honestly, I can NOT imagine finding fun in sitting with the same people every night on a bar stool. I have Marvel movies to analyze! lol

We need to form a group and all do a weekend meet at Disney....you know....like we're rich! LOL Only it has to be in the cooler months or you'll never see this girl. I don't do heat of ANY kind. ugh! For me, heat can suck the fun out of any good time. I only hit the parks when I can throw on a light jacket. Perfection!

Nooo, you're in the perfect place, where the hockey is! lol Too hot in Florida. What is the exchange rate? Did you know that it's cheaper for me to go to Paris for 8 or 9 days than it is to go to Florida for 3 or 4? I did that in November. I went to Paris and London, and saw Disneyland Paris, flight and hotels for $1250, 9 days! In fact my sister and I are doing it again this year. To drive ourselves to Florida, stay at a Moderate for 4 nights, with 2 day hoppers and the dining plan was $1320 per person to take a 4 year old with us. I just can't . I kid you not...only 2 days in the parks and it was going to cost that much.

I am trying to get a trip to Paris/London together too, and to do Disney. That's a great deal! I am also thinking about a solo trip, and a couple of days is now over $1000 with flights and all. I still want to, but it's just a bit pricey now.

I found my deals on Orbitz and Hotwire. This year I got 8 days, flight and hotel in Paris for $845. Now what we do is jump on a train for about $100 to and from London for a couple of days and keep our room in Paris and just book a night or two in London and carry a small backpack. Disneyland was around $85 for a one day park hopper. Food was cheap all over Paris. London a bit more expensive but not crazy like I thought. I took 600euros to Paris and cashed in 200 to bring home and 200pounds to London and we ran around trying to find things to buy in the train station to get rid of it before we headed back to Paris. Very doable!

Good idea! Even if you don't find your soulmate, chances are you'll at least make some new friends.

I'll be at WDW last weekend of October and again last weekend of December. Anyone else going around either of those times?

You are not alone OP. I have come to realize that finding a partner at my age is not an easy task. I love Disney and it certainly would be nice to find someone who does too. For now I will settle for going with my boys. ( So glad they love Disney as much as I do!)

Right now if I want to buy 100$ USD it's going to cost me more than 135$ cad. And it's even worse for Euros if I ever decide to cross the pond. o_O.

I should talk to yo about planning that trip, haha! It has been a bit overwhelming.
