Can you share a place you couldnt wait to eat but was a huge letdown

BOG. I’ve done all three meals and the whole thing is overrated IMO. I’d never stress about not being able to get an ADR here.

1900 PF. Terrible food! Literally the worst I’ve ever had in Disney, probably in the top five worst places I’ve eaten anywhere in my life. To be fair I am allergic to strawberries, so none of their signature soup for me. Character interaction was just meh. They were in a rush and seemed to ignore the girls and favor the boys. The inside of this place is so blah! No windows, no decor, just totally uninspired. Actually the decor reminds me of all the family owned diners in PA I grew up around. Nothing wrong with that for a diner, but for a character meal in one of the most gorgeous hotels on Disney property, I expected something nicer.

CA Grill... sort of. The sushi here is amazing but that’s it. We always say we’re going “just for sushi” but at least one entree always sounds interesting, and after a few bites we always wind up regretting it. The sushi here really is amazing though, for that alone we keep going back.

Agree and it can be very noisy. May not bother some people, but fair warning.

Agreeing that Boathouse can be noisy but it has at least 5 different eating areas so let them know at the podium if you want a quiet area. All bets might be off on the weekends though as it's pretty popular with the locals also.

Morimoto Asia street food (qs), the sushi wrap was bland and claggy. We soaked it in soy to try and get some flavour into it but even that didn't work. Went straight in the bin. I've had better sushi from questionable petrol stations!

D-Luxe Burger. All the reviews looked so good, but what I got was a greasy burger - so greasy it left a huge puddle on the paper - & undercooked fries :crazy2:
That's so weird we've eaten there a few times and it was always impeccable. Gutted for you that they obviously dropped the ball big that day!

Art Smith's Homecoming. Worst food and service I have ever had a WDW. I'd heard such good things about it and booked an ADR, but, it was abysmal. I really want to give it another go, but, it was an expensive mistake I don't want to repeat.
I have to agree with this completely! I was so looking forward to this place because of all of the hype about him being Oprah's personal chef and how she insisted on that hummingbird cake for her birthday every year etc....My friend ended up sending her food back because it just tasted bad. She got the bbq but being from Tennessee, she said it didn't taste like any bbq she ever tasted. Now granted, I think she has baby mouth so I wasn't trusting her so much, but mine wasn't much better. I got the fried green tomatoes...literally my favorite food ever! Nope, not great. I also tried the little fried chicken sliders because I heard his chicken was amazing. Not so much. And for the hummingbird cake that was so raved about? Meh. Tasted like banana nut bread with frosting. The name implied this super light fluffy something.....nope.

That makes me feel better about not booking it for our next trip. It lost out to boathouse but was a contender.

It's so crazy how different people have such different experiences. We ate at Homecomin' for the lunch last November and I thought it was the best meal of our trip. The chicken biscuits were melt in your mouth good, the mac and cheese was perfect, and I thought the Hummingbird Cake was fantastic.

50s Prime Time. My family and I will go to places for the atmosphere and were expecting a great time with the server....however we waited for more than an hour even with reservations, we hardly saw our server and she wasn't engaging at all (and my parents tried so hard to get her to engage, pointing out that the rest of us didn't eat our vegetables or we had our elbows on the table and the server gave nothing) the food was meh...overall it was not worth forgoing our usual Hollywood Studios lunch spot (Sci Fi Café) for.
This happens to me every. single. time I go there! It's gotten so bad that if it happens again, I'm not tipping. I've even requested a playful server because I was with newbies and no matter how hard we try to get them to engage they NEVER do. We have to sit and watch all of the other tables around us having fun. For me, if you don't do the antics then you're not doing your job. I'm not going to supplement your income if you don't provide good service, and not playing along is bad service to me. And I don't really care about the "everyone has a bad day" junk because when I was in the service industry, we were taught to leave our problems at the door.

Be Our Guest dinner I have rare food allergies and one of them is mushrooms and almost all the dinner options at the time we went had mushrooms and the way they were cooked there wasn't anyway to remove them. It's not BOG's fault but it was a let down for me. Stupid food allergies lol.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but Hollywood & Vine was the only meal of our trip last year that we were disappointed in.
The buffet dishes were interesting, but nothing totally blew me away. And the offerings for the "kids menu" items were lame, my kids (who were scarfing down food like crazy the whole trip) barely ate anything other than the desserts. We were there for Minnie's Halloween dine, and seeing the characters in costumes was fun, but I left wishing we had chosen a different character experience or saved our money and just gotten CS that night. It was the only meal of our entire trip I regretted.
I don't think you're going to find that an unpopular opinion. lol

Sci Fi Drive in. The only good thig I have to say about that place is that the horrible food temporarliy distracted me from the fact that I was eating while looking at the back of my family's heads. The movie clips were lame, but not the good lame.

Mickeys BBQ, Yak and Yeti, Le Cellier and BOG is definitely overrated not a 2TS deal on the meal plan at all

Le Cellier. For the price I would have liked for seating to feel more intimate. I was sitting as close to other patrons as I was to my own family. Food was decent, seating ruined the whole experience.

I know this is an unpopular stance, but generally speaking we find nearly all the food at WDW to be disappointing, especially when the astronomical check is presented at the end of a mediocre at best meal. I try to justify it as the “experience”, but it’s still tough to swallow. Some examples are O’Hana, Crystal Palace, Akershus, Raglan Road, garden Grill, Pecos Bills, BOG. We have had a few good meals at Via Napoli and Captains Grille, but the bad ones outnumber the good, which stinks. Last trip we ended up eating offsite a few times and while leaving the bubble is something of a downer, eating and paying for a decent meal is nice.

We did USO this last March and I found the food there to be vastly better than Disney.

It’s one of the hardest ADRs to get.

'Ohana - I could forgive the mediocre food if it didn't take an hour past our ADR to be sat. Food at dinner was overcooked, salty at breakfast, and we had to wait for what seemed like an eternity after we were done eating for all the characters to come by.

1900 Park Fare - Still a great meal, but we were done eating long before we saw a single character. Russell, our server, was exceptional though.

Be Our Guest dinner (before prix fixe) - Overpriced and very salty! Couldn't imagine using 2 credits for this place now.
My husband thought Russell was one of the best parts of our trip last summer.

I agree that the servers need to leave there problems at the door. I have never eaten at 50's but I will someday and hope I get good service.
