Gay Day Schedule 2019?

@Elephantay The park with the largest increase in crowds for Gay Days is Magic Kingdom. On that park's designated "red shirt day" the park tends to have a moderate increase in crowds (there are many folks who come to gay days just to go to the parties off-site, and MK is the only park they will go to on their trip). However, I have never found the crowd unbearable in the way some other large events are. Really the only attraction with drastically increased wait times is Country Bear Jamboree (all the bears decide to meet up there and the queue wraps outside. the one time a year where that show is a hot ticket! haha)

The crowd increase to the other three parks on their red shirt day is negligible. So don't stress about planning your schedule around those.

I'm bummed I wont be there for either gay day period this year. Just didnt work in the schedule, but Ill be there starting June 19. I'll miss the very social atmosphere in the parks that gay days creates. I'll be wearing a few pride items on my trip anyway, still pride month!

So in your opinion we shouldn't avoid whichever park is listed as a gay day on touring plans? Not like some of the other groups that cause huge crowds?

SInce this is the first one at WDW in August, and many GLBT folks are sticking to the traditional schedule in June, we really don't know what the impact will be. But, I doubt it will be as crowded as when everything was held in June. And even so, four years ago, I traveled with a group of 16 people during gay day, ages ranging from a few months to 62. I was the only gay in the group. We went to MK that Saturday, we had the Cinderella breakfast in the castle and spent the rest of the day in MK. Everyone had a great time, and the crowds were very manageable. And if you're traveling with youngsters, the Character meet & greet queues are usually a bit shorter on Gay Day. I avoid August for the heat, not the crowd levels. I wish I could do the first weekend in June this year, but I have to wait on a 10 year old to get out of school...but I will be there June 4 to 11.

Today was our AK day, notwithstanding this being the traditional MK gay day. I wore red, my husband doesn’t have a red shirt. We only saw a handful of other folks in red at the AK, not counting the obviously not gay ones. One couple was wearing their Boot Edge Edge shirts, which my husband hadn’t heard before and misinterpreted as them being into line dancing.

I also saw a pair of teens holding hands, and though one was a bit androgynous, I’m pretty sure they were two high school boys, in spite of them not wearing red or other identifying symbols. The normalcy of that is just heart warming.

I'm only trying to find out about the crowds- not if there will be a higher number of gay people than usual :)
Just people in general!
