Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

Could anybody help me with this please?

Are you at Jambo or Kidani as that will drastically change the answers? If you are going to a one bedroom I would really recommend Kidani, the layout is so much nicer and the second bathroom is great. I thought that the construction at Kidani was over as well, as it was just the outside balconies.

Could anybody help me with this please?
Elephantay: I had the same dilemna when we were hoping to travel in April. We could not. However at that time I had also heard this as well. I could get very little information until finally I was lucky enough to get an awesome person via telephone who investiagted thoroughly (contacting back office onsite etc) to discover that in April there would be issues with one savanna view and stated we should request the opposite savanna with the hope it would help the situation. I have never been, thus I have no idea about distance etc. Keep calling until you get an awesome and ambitious WDW guest service agent who would be better able to assist you. I wish I were more helpful, but that is all I know. We rescheduled our trip for November as my mom passed away and we could not travel.

All of the villas were refurbished in 2016 they are not up again for a while and those I have been in are still quite nice and in good repair. The value villas are not bookable in Dec-Jan but DVC is saying that it is because of the resort refurbishments impacting these rooms and not that they are being refurbished themselves but DVC has not exactly been transparent about those rooms. The value studios are about 316 sq ft whereas the regular studios are about 365 sq ft, my guess is the regular rooms are also about 365 sq ft since the villas are converted hotel rooms, but I don't know that for sure. What is the price difference and how long are you staying? I personally, would probably choose the larger king room if more than a couple nights as I would want the extra space, even though we don't really care about having a king bed. Not sure about the ROL question I haven't seen the new show so I don't know how long it is.
The price is $50 more per night for AKL regular room than Value Studio. We figured we were better off with King Bed booking as otherwise we could actually get a bunk bed & queen, or 2 queen. Prefer more floor space also. Thanks for your help. It's hard to decide.

We arrived today for a week stay in a 3 bedroom villa on rented points. We came in the room to find a gorgeous flower display from the front desk as well as a fridge fully stocked with drinks and a note to call when we need it filled. Then tonight a cast member knocked on the door with this beautiful wood piece covered in chocolates and treats. We asked her who this was all coming from and she said as thanks from the front desk???? What the heck?

Love our villa on Kudu Trail and the view!!

Seeing a lot of pics on another FB group about the heavy machinery in the Savannah for the refurbishment. It seems to be currently in the main Savannah off Kudu. It seems that currently zebra is ok. But, my reservation is for the end of next month. Will it have reached zebra trail by then? We haven’t had much luck recently with room requests, so I’m afraid that we’ll face the construction, have construction noise, etc.

My mom and I will be at AKL - Jambo from 7/19-7/22. First time at the resort... so happy to be able to make one of her dreams come true for a change.

Just booked our vacation 01 October 2020 for 10 nights standard view at AKL. Never stayed there before although we have dined there. We had to cancel our plans this year so decided to pick this location. Now to get the research done and get to grips with everything for the trip. :flower3:
