Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Page 1460

I have been meaning to go through a lot of these pages - got through I think about 50 - 100 of them shortly after we booked back in January, but then have gotten sidetracked. Sorry if this question has been covered:

I'm curious about the room layouts. I've seen a layout view for the 2 queen rooms that shows a table on the opposite wall. The videos on YouTube I've seen though show those all with a couch opposite the beds and no table in the room. The 1 King rooms seem to all have the table (from the videos). Has anyone seen rooms with 2 queens and a table?

Do you have an upcoming trip booked? When/Which resort?

As far as reading through the thread, I usually suggest you check out the posts on Page 1- lots to see there and many links that will take you down different roads. Then catch up on the last few pages (10-20-30). You can also make use of the "search function" if there is something in particular you want to know about.

And of course, keep checking in and keeping up with current posts!

Does anyone know if the rapid refill in the BC marketplace is the new machine that is computerized. I know they have one in Yacht Club but I like the idea of being able to get seltzer and powerade rather than soda all of the time :)

:welcome:

When is your trip?

I see that someone answered your question. Thanks, @PCFriar80

:woohoo:

We have a cabana eserved for my 50th birthday in August. Were you able to request cabana 4? I would love to be further back from the pool but not sure how to ask for it.

:welcome: to this form!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15. Which resort? BC/YC or BCV?

:cool1:

What are the sizes of the beds in a studio villa at BC? I see that it says queen online but I had a friend recently stay at AKL and their studio only had a double bed. Thanks!

Do you have a trip booked or are you in the planning stages?

Quick question about visitors to BC. I just got word that my aunt is driving up from Ft. Lauderdale to see us on our arrival day. Is it correct to assume she will have to pay the daily parking fee? Is it $35? We are CL so I know she won't be allowed to come into the lounge, but could we grab a bite by the pool area?

Following up on my question since I'm here not and got my answer... it was a hard "No" by 2 CMs that they could not join us in the CL lounge. First I asked at the front desk and the CM said yes but there must have been supervisor at the next counter space because she piped right up an said no (sort of with a tude). Then I asked again up at the lounge and was told no. No big deal of course. We ended getting take out from marketplace and hanging out in the solarium for a long time.
They didn't have to pay parking though and they came back twice.
While they left to check into their hotel we checkout CL lounge until our room was ready. Nice area.

Thanks for posting about your experience. I hope you had a nice visit with your relatives.

Views from YC CL SV rooms:

if you are by chance in a standard view room, please take a pic of the view and the room number. I'm trying to figure out which of the standard view rooms has the best view.

We have the same view booked and are going in a few weeks. I’d love to see the views to get an idea of what to ask for. Same on the food. I’m in the midst of canceling some ADR’s and trying to get a sense of if the food options in CL will be enough.
Have a great trip.

I’m not who you were asking, but I’ll include the view from room 5186 YC SV CL taken JUNE 2018. One of the photos shows the shared balcony from our balcony, we were 2 doors down from it (I think).

@ninafeliz

Thanks for posting those great pictures from room 5186. I have added these to the YC Room view thread.

Do you recall the details on the bedding in this room? 2 Queens or King Bed? Daybed or not?

TIA!

@Laurieannc and @jemtx there are around 10 entries for Yacht Club Standard View club level rooms there. In the Standard View index, these are the room numbers on the 5th floor, 5XXX.

Here is the link for that thread-

Thank you! I did read the first page (several times) - and thank you for it - it's great stuff. We are booked at Yacht Club 8/11 - 8/19 for a Garden View room.

Honestly, the one thing I'm having a tough time with is what kind of room requests to make. Our last two trips with the kids (we did a kid-free long weekend last summer at Coronado) were at Wilderness (April 2018) and Polynesian (August 2017), and we had a very good handle on what we wanted for rooms. We learned what to really ask for and got lucky both times. (Poly it was 3rd floor and close to main Ceremonial House - we had a room in the first building next to it on the 3rd floor. WL we got a great room - 2nd from top floor, almost to the end which gave us a great fireworks view.)

With Yacht Club, we're having a much more difficult time figuring out what we really should try to go for as far as room requests. From what we can tell, there don't seem to be those rooms that are so much better located than others or the rooms where it's a lower category but you're really getting an upgraded view, etc.

Here’s some pics of our room and view

Awesome set of pictures!!! Thank you so much.

Hope it has been a fantastic trip!

September 17-21 yacht club

Got it!

I'll make the adjustment on my next update of the Be Our Guest list.

Does anyone know if something is going on at Cape May on 10/30? I'm still shocked that there are no dinner reservation times at all that night! (Since my 180 day mark...) Ugh, this is my husband's must do and we missed it last time so I really need to get it in, but rearranging plans is making it difficult!

That IS weird!!!

I don't know the answer, but I just checked the day before and the day after and there were tables available then. But like you said, nothing on October 30.

Have you tried calling the dining reservation line to see if they have any answers.

:confused3

My husband and I have the same room category, YC GV booked for a 2 night empty-nest trip in early October.

I'm not sure if I will be making a room request or just leaving it to the luck of the draw.

We don't need a daybed. Either bedding configuration, 2 queens or a king bed would be fine with us.

Location- GV rooms can overlook the back entrance (lakeside) courtyard. These are fun for people watching! Also very close to the YC lobby. There is also the wedding gazebo courtyard view which is very nice and some of these rooms have a sideways view of the lake. There may also be some GV rooms that are at the far end of the resort, overlooking the tennis court (near Swan/Dolphin). These could have a long walk to the lobby, but would be closer to the boat dock/Hollywood Studios when employing the "secret exit" (I think...)

Here's the link to the index for the Yacht Club Garden View rooms in the YC room view thread:

Actually, now that I think about it, either via online checkin or by phone, I will call in a request for a high floor since we prefer that.

Just upgraded from Pop to Yacht Club for our November trip to Food & Wine... SO EXCITED! We got a water view so I’m hoping for a gorgeous view of the lake. Can’t wait to check out Stormalong Bay and the gondolas!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

We just switched to standard view BC from savannah view AKL for our December trip. We saved around 3k and I've always wanted to stay at both resorts so I'm happy with the switch. I know the weather may be to cool to swim but the boys are going to flip when they see the pool!

I have to admit I don't know a lot about the BC because I didn't think we'd ever be able to stay there. I'm excited to do lots of research in the next 6 months!

As far as research, we suggest you start with the info and pictures on Page 1 of this thread, and then keep up with the most recent posts.

Of course, please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you @natebenma. We'll for sure be staying at the BC from Dec 15th to the 22nd. We're celebrating my step sons 18th birthday and both boys first trip.
We have 2 nights before at POFQ. I'm trying to get those nights at BC but they don't have availability right now on the BB offer. If I'm able to add those nights I'll let you know.
I still can't believe we get o stay at the BC. We are planning 3 resort days just so I can soak up every second there, lol.

Coffee maker in BC rooms? Do I need k-cups?

I'm curious about this too. I know they were changing them and want to be sure I order the right pods for our trip in September.

Great question about the coffee makers... unfortunately, I don't know the answer.

The BC rooms previously had the Cuisinart coffee pod one-cup machines- the pods were not super easy to find- I think you could order on Amazon or from Walmart. You could/can always ask housekeeping for more if you need them.

Over the past year, we have heard reports of some of the machines being replaced with Keurigs. Unfortunately, we don't know how many or which rooms have the Keurig machines.

:confused3

If we get confirmation that all of the machines have been changed over, we will let everyone know.

:coffee:

It's booked, flights are confirmed! Mid-August vacation! We are FINALLY getting to stay at BC resort!! I'm still amazed how expensive things have become, I remember the good old days where we could score 7 nights at a Deluxe with dining for 2 adults/3 kids for under 3k...Now, it's 4 nights for 5 adults at over 5k (not counting airfare- but that was gratis because I gave up my seat 3x back in March- WORTH IT!) but that includes dining- I booked the Chase dining deal and have booked all our restaurants (Teppan Edo- never been there, Grand Floridian Café- been there once, but need those shrimp and grits!, Cinderella's Castle- been there twice, but this time purely going because it's smack dab in the middle of the park and hey- it's a castle!, Cape May Café- never been, and some place in AK-Yak and Yeti?)
Having never been to BC/YC (we've stayed at OKW, POR, Poly, ContR, AKL), I'll be going through all these posts looking for tips. I did request balcony, we have a Woods/Garden view...looking for tips on how to enjoy this resort. We are mom/dad and kids are all college aged, we love slides...wondering the best time of day to enjoy the pool....I'm assuming August is the WORST weather month for heat, but we're used to heat living in south Texas now. Are there any events scheduled at the resort? Game rooms- my kids love board games/card games? Any tours that tell cool things about the resort? This will likely be our one and only trip here, so want to plan it all out- we are HORRIBLE, we plan out every hour!!! Daughter was in the college program, so she is itching to get back and see the new changes since just last year- she has already planned out our fastpasses that can't be booked for another 2 weeks. Just to let you know the excitement around here...if you have any tips your family loved about BC- please share!! This trip is a redo for a family cruise that ended on day one last December...medical emergency. We are ready to celebrate healing!!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

Sounds like a fantastic, and well-deserved trip.

Like MickeyT said, take some time to read over the first page of this thread.

Morning is a great time to enjoy the pool- least amount of crowds and more of a choice of seating locations. There are afternoon activities at the pool. Volleyball may be of interest to your crew, but a lot of the other poolside activities are geared to younger kids than college age.

Has anyone seen a place where you can borrow board or card games? Quite often we bring decks of cards and dice/Yahtzee scoreboards on vacation to use during downtimes. Lots of fun little nooks and crannies/public spaces where you can play.

There are different arts & crafts classes offered now, at various times. Check the activities calendar that I will post here around the first of the month of your trip.

I am not aware of any resort tours at the Yacht & Beach. There is one over at the Boardwalk. Not sure what the schedule is or if it is daily or weekly.

I can share with you a fun fact- one of the elevators in the main bank of elevators (near the BC Marketplace) is fake! Go around to the back and you will find a bunch of pay phones where the interior of the elevator should be.

Please let us know if you have any specific questions!

:woohoo:

That's by far the best and most important feature!

We should come up with some Y&B specific combinations.

I'll start with a few for the restaurants:

Who can figure this one out? (It was the best I could do with the emojis available)
