Morning everyone! Just made my ADR’s for our November trip!! Was able to get everything I wanted, as well as the times. Going to ‘stay home’ and eat a couple of the days! I booked Park Fare breakfast (will be our first time eating there!), and we’re going to do Narcoossee’s for our anniversary dinner ☺ After seeing @trishadono pictures (which are great, by the way!), I’m even more excited to get back there!!!! I’m under 30 days till our summer trip!! Can’t wait to get back home :cloud9:

Congrats on getting all of your ADRs, sounds like a great trip! Hope the next 30 days goes fast for your summer trip :wizard:.

Today is my anniversary and its the first time we're not at the GF and WDW in two years on this day (my honeymoon was WDW also). With that said...I just informed my DH I hate being home today, I miss being at the GF today its the perfect place to celebrate....lol . We don't return until late September this year because the kids wanted to join us and my DS in the NYPD police academy and doesn't graduate until July 2nd. Still hoping he gets that time off but either way we're going...lol . They can meet us there!!:goodvibes

I hope everyone is having a magical day, I hope to hear from anyone returning so we can live vicariously through their trip.:cloud9:

Happy Anniversary!! :)

Septembers really not that far away...you'll be checking into the GF before you know it! Congrats to your DS....I hope he's able to join you in Sept :goodvibes.

I am excited to try Park Fare! Looks like a lot more food compared to some of the other breakfast buffets. My kids still enjoy the characters, and are excited to see new ones! (We typically do Ohana or Cape May Cafe). I love breakfast, so I honestly don’t care what characters are there, as long as the food is good!!

Park Fare breakfast is pretty good. My favorite is Cape May followed by Ohana, but I did like PF. It's also a fun character meal :earboy2:.

My husband and I will be staying at the Grand Floridian at the beginning of a August. It is our first time staying there. I have a few questions about transportation. We are doing the Villains Afterhours and I would like to know what would be available for getting back to the hotel from the MK afterwards. Also, what would be available for extra magic hours and early morning magic at the MK? What time should we plan on taking the transportation if we want to arrive early? I wasn't sure if the Monorail runs that early. I have stayed at the Contemporary and Polynesian before but I can't recall. I have one more question about the transportation to Epcot. What would be the best way to get there? I know it was easy from the Polynesian and don't recall any issues when I stayed at the Contemporary, but I have read others post that it was a hassle from here. I appreciate any information that anyone could provide.

Only buses are available for paid after hours events. They put all Monorail resorts together

For the others there will be transportation. Though we personally use ride share for anything early simply to remove all unknown

So exciting!!! Your plans sound wonderful. I haven't had breakfast at Park Fare since DD needed a highchair and she's 22.:rotfl2: I hope you got a good time slot for Narcoossee's so you can enjoy the fireworks and electrical parade from there.

Just wanted to say congratulations to your DS! We don’t live far from NYC and I worked in city for many years. I greatly appreciate all NYPD officers. Best of luck to him and enjoy your September trip! We’ll be there the end of August for our first GF stay! :yay:

Happy Anniversary!!! :flower3: Sorry you can’t be in Disney today, but September is only 3 months away!! (BTW we also had our honeymoon in Disney!!!)

Best of luck to your DS!!! So exciting! Long hours, but definitely a rewarding job! We are in NJ!

I actually booked Narcoossee’s two nights.... one at an earlier time, one later for fireworks. We typically like to do an early dinner and then go into the parks at night, but thinking we might be able to go into the park and then come back early for dinner instead so we can see fireworks! We have time to decide which one we want to do!

Thanks so much, I will definitely be at the GF next year...its just not the same!!

I worry about the job, be he LOVES it. We're in NJ all the time...shopping, restaurants & family.

Happy Anniversary!! :)

Thanks so much. I hope it works out too! His girlfriend of 2 1/2 years just broke up with him and after that and the academy, my DS needs a vacation!

Thanks so much, your very sweet. Enjoy your trip in August!!

Hi everyone

Quick question, actually a favor for whoever is visiting next. Since Miznor's is closed I thought I heard you can sit in the tea room in the evening with a drink. Can anyone confirm that for me?

Also, if anyone can find out when the new bar is planning to reopen.

Thanks so much

We have a lot in common! I also live outside of NYC, work in the city and will be down at GF for the end of august. :flower1:

We just got home so thought I'd give an update on our GF stay.
Checked in on 5/28, out on 6/3
Room was ready about midday but we didn't come over from Universal till dinner time. Got a 3rd-floor room in Sago Key.
Requested a King with a day bed and that's what we got. It was also close to the elevator.
Sago Key is a fine location. Good for bus stop, walk wasn't bad anywhere else. We looked out at the Monorail.
We had a strange schedule this trip, mostly late starts, late nights.
I think Housekeeping decided to put our room on the list to clean during the time they'd normally do turndown service or something, as it was never cleaned till very late, after 4:00, even when we were out all day. And one day we got missed totally, mostly because DH forgot and left the sign on the door till really late. But it worked for us, one day didn't kill us. And late room servicing was never a problem either. We were either out at the pool or the parks.

We used both pools, and even rented a cabana for half day. Really enjoyed that. Staff was wonderful.
2 other days we got one of the big oversized covered chairs at the Beach Pool, which were nice and comfy.
Found it sort of strange that there was no hot tub at the Beach Pool. Used to a hot tub at all the pools. Seemed like a small pool too. It was a really hot period, we arrived in Orlando on 5/23 and didn't have a drop of rain until 6/2, when there was 1 brief shower and yesterday was the first day with significant rain. Pretty much every other day was cloudless so pools have been BUSY

Ate at the QS a couple of times and it was good. Had good interactions with staff at the front desk. My big disappointment was this is the first time I've had to deal with a resort adding a parking fee on when we don't have a vehicle. It was easy enough to get removed but annoying. We arrive via RideShare at BWI all the time and they don't stick a parking fee on so not sure why GF would. The driver clearly said drop off and the guard knew we were NOT driving ourselves in and parking
