FP TIER changes at DHS as of August 29th

We will just spend less/no time in DHS if the lines are ridiculous. We go often enough that a day at the pool would be a welcome and much less exepnsive change.

I'm glad we are doing After Hours next month. I plan on soaking up the park I love now before they completely change the game here.

I am also looking forward to Universal this fall. I don't even have to think about it! Just show up.

I don’t understand the point of putting them back to tier 1, do they think it will help because I don’t think it will. The stand by lines are going to be ridiculous unless they change the system to allow you to book just a tier 1 use it and then book another because as it stands now you have to use all 3 before booking another tier 1. Also not really anything left to book for tier 2. I read that they may be doing away with FP for Star Tours at first.

The standby lines may not actually be as bad as you'd think, since it's a pretty proven fact that with less FP, the standby line moves faster. With the way they're supposedly changing things, the FP selections will be spread out. But I think its likely we won't really notice a difference because the park will be really crowded either way.

Yeah, the only difference we will notice is inability to reserve the FP that we want. Lines will be the same as all FP will still be completely gone.

That's just down right horrible. Spend hundreds of dollars for a family of 4 to get into the park, and only be guranteed to ride one ride.

Disney can do better than this, and they should.

But the stand by lines are still there. The rides are still there.

I think it's pretty bad, too, but they aren't shutting people out of the rides.

I get what you're saying, and yeah you're right. I just don't think its right that you can only get one fast pass for a ride. I'm just annoyed you spend that much money, and this is what you get.

I don’t know if this is a good idea or not but my sister and I have DAH at MK the night before our DHS day so we’re not going to get there early. I think I’m just going to sacrifice our (2) tier 2 rides for early morning since I don’t really care about any of them anyway. Get to the park and immediately ride our tier 1 ride and try for a 4th fastpass for another one. We have an ADR at Sci-fi for lunch and if that’s all we get to do then so be it. We plan on taking our 3 granddaughters next year and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a LONG time before we go back. My opinion of Disney is getting worse day by day.

The changes don't go into effect until the day SWGE opens, so those reporting before then you're fine until August 29th.

This sounds like a terrible change. Ugh. I have a trip planned in November (a few days after the extra EMH end) so I guess it will be interesting to see if HS is manageable at that point.
I have a tripped plan for early December - Main goal is SDD and TOT. It may be a do these 2 rides and leave.

Contrary to popular belief rides operate better when there is no or less FP. That said they aren’t changing the FP allotment here. This is about spreading the crowds. With SWGE opening that means higher crowds. They want people going to the people eating attractions like Star Tours and the shows.

You can get more than one FP at a time, you just might not be able to get one for every ride you want, not at first. I understand the annoyance. And I think most everyone in this topic does. But this is Disney trying to be proactive and spread the anticipated crowd around, instead of in line for the same 3 rides. It's a challenging situation to manage, and Disney thinks this is the best way.

Maybe i misunderstood something then, I understood the change would be 1 FP for a ride, then you have to use the other 2 on other things before you can get another one.

You are not guaranteed to only get on one ride. You just have to wait standby like the days before FP.
yeah, i agreed with that above. I think i was pretty annoyed when i wrote that post and wrote something that was incorrect.

It's still an annoyance to spend that kind of money, and only be able to get a fast pass for one ride (if i understand correctly).
