FP TIER changes at DHS as of August 29th

They said no FP for the falcon. My hope is that given the success at DL, they’ll do a similar system of timed entry into SWGE for WDW (maybe with a standby line as well). If you’re going to do this, makes sense to use the existing MDE/FP infrastructure.
Good point. I hadn’t thought about the land vs the ride as far as FP goes.

It seems like the land itself is the real attraction anyway. Even with the extended EMH this would work. Onsite guests go early and use their FPs at another park later in the day and offsite guests can use the timed-entry. Crowds = distributed.

Why does everyone think they have to make 3 FP selections before making a new one? Make 1 selection, then as soon as you tap open that app and start pounding for a new FP on another tier 1 ride. They are making all the rides tier 1 to make people wait in lines outside of SW:GE. It's very simple to ride everything you want to ride, it just might take some work.

You have to use 3 in a tiered park before you can get another tier 1 in that same park. What you’re saying works when hopping.

You may find the FP FAQ helpful. Excerpted from Post #8:
A second Group 1 attraction in the same park can be scheduled only as a 4th FP or beyond. In other words, scheduling less than 3 FPs for a day in a tiered park is not a shortcut to getting a second Group 1 FP in the same park faster.

The best solution to this madness is to do 1 ride in EPCOT and then hop to DHS. Then do as many Tier 1s in a row as you can pickup... If you can get to DHS (after another park) within the first hour, it should be pretty easy pickings.

Yes this is a good tip. I didn’t think of it that way.

That won’t work. The best solution for tiering is to park hop and do half days. We’re riding all 3 TSL with FPS, but we’re hopping. Luckily, our trip is before they tier so we’re getting multiple rides on TOT and RRC. We don’t play with getting additional FPS in the parks, don’t need to when you hop.

No, the best solution to all this is to not even care about FP’s at HS. Show up to HS at 5:30 am ready to RD. Head to SDD and TSMM and then ToT and RnR. I’m thinking you’ll be able ride those 4 rides in an hour, two tops

Why would I get up at that godawful hour when I don’t need to? There’s nothing I want to ride bad enough that I’ll destroy the rest of the day dragging a kid out of bed before dawn. Good thing is, I don’t need to. But if you’re kid free and don’t mind doing it, it would certainly work. On second thought, for SWGE, using extra extra hrs, I just might. For SDD and the rest? No way.

So let's make the only "attractions" that someone needs a FP+ for Tier 1 and all the stuff you can do with minimal wait Tier 2 (which in fact is just about everything I try to skip).

As long as it only start Aug 29th. My trip is the 24 to 31st and I was hoping to get HS done early in the week. Like before GE opens :)

Yup they have attempted to ruin my week too. I'm planning to do your plan as well.

Changing all the rides to a Tier 1 might be a vast conspiracy by Kermit to FORCE people to see the Muppets!

Last two trips Muppets has been full each trip I went so ... that might backfire.

I have a tripped plan for early December - Main goal is SDD and TOT. It may be a do these 2 rides and leave.

Serious question. If you are not an AP, do you think you would get your monies worth doing this?

I said something similar upthread. SWGE aside, you could be done with every ride by 9am.

While I’m speculating what 6am-9am will be like in the rest of the park, you gotta think you can cover a ton of ground during that time, right?

I'm not really keeping up with this because I don't plan to go but this 6-9 am ... is the whole park going to be open? Not sure why stuck in my head only SWGE will be open those hours.

Am I infuriated by this? Absolutely, however this all makes sense.
Disney has finally answered the question of where all the people are going to go when Galaxy’s Edge opens. They’ll be in 3 hour standby lines for rides that opened 20 years ago.

YUP. WHY would I wait in ANY line for any show at that park? Shows that should have already been replaced. If I chose to wait in long lines in SWGE, let me but I want to be able to enjoy the rest of the park without such constraints. This just reinforces my current decision to not renew APs after having them for ten years straight. I think it will be a mess for so many reasons. Multiply Pandora many times over.

Yea with kids it would change things. Obviously it’d be different with each family and if you know your kids can easily adjust then it would be worth it I think. Just take a nap later in the day

Can you explain this further? I'm not sure I'm understanding. How would doing a ride at EPCOT allow you to do tier 1s at HS?

Once you hop, all tiering rules go away. You could:

- Have one pre-booked FP in EPCOT (take your pick)
- Once you tap in for the EPCOT FP, grab a Tier 1 from DHS
- Go to DHS with no tiering rules and do Tier 1s one after another
