:offtopic: For this thread but I didn’t see anything on the HR thread, soooooo.......how was your stay at what I consider our 3rd home!!!!!
:) Fine. I love HR. We were on 7th floor and honestly, their CL disappoints me more and more each time. It's frankly pitiful. Nothing but bagged chips for snacks? 1 dessert choice per night? I love everything about the place but they should probably just drop the whole offering if what they had last week is what they plan for the future. Free stuff at other hotel chains beats what they do
Loved our day in the cabana too

Totally agree the CL has always been the worst of the 3 that offer it at UO, have to go to PB or RP if you want the best, I had really hoped the refurb would’ve amounted to something, glad you had fun we canceled our BC stay this month but turned around and booked HR CL KS.......:confused3 decided to come down anyway!!!!!

I got quite the surprise for the Fam later this year at GF for what I booked!

Hi everyone! Looking for some advice on our next couples trip. We are pretty torn between going back to the Poly on our May 2020 trip or trying the GF. We fell in love with the Poly on our first stay there last fall but the GF has also been a dream of mine since I was a kid, and we enjoyed our brief time visiting on that trip (we had a spa break at Senses). For reference it’s just me and my partner, in our 30s and we don’t have kids. We also would not be doing CL as it’s out of our budget and we’re not really interested in the lounges anyway. Would we be nuts to do a split stay considering they’re right next to each other?

Both are great resorts! The Poly is my overall favorite, but I also like the GF. If you're really unsure about whether or not you'll like the GF, I think a split is a good idea to try it. I'd probably do the GF first and end with the Poly. Even if you end up liking the GF, you'll be leaving it for a resort you know you already love :).

I talked it over with the better half and she’s really keen on this idea so thanks for the encouragement. We are thinking 3 nights at GF and 6 at the Poly. Now I get to research a new resort!

I've done the Poly/Grand split a couple times. I adore both resorts, (DVC owner at both), but for such different reasons. Usually I prefer a split with different resort areas, but sometimes it just works out that both the places you have a hankering to stay at are in the same area. This is a nice split because the themes are so different. Also it's so easy to move your own luggage, if so inclined. It's an easy walk, even with luggage.

You're welcome! I think that's a great split. Have fun researching/planning :goodvibes.

I think thats a great idea and I agree with friend MickeyNut1 I would save the Poly for the second stay since you know what you like. If you miss the GF you can always walk over and visit. Anyway you slice it, your trip sounds amazing! Planning and researching is half the fun and totally a part of the whole experience. Enjoy all of it! :goodvibes pixiedust:

BTW I just watched a video sent in the Dis daily email. It featured 3 families that got to experience SWGE before anyone else due to their love of Star Wars. To know me is to know that its not a surprise, but I was sitting crying while watching the whole thing....What is wrong with me? No need to answer....my family has a million different answers at any given time...:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

I'm also going to HR in less than 4 weeks. Staying non-club this time on purpose. Your post just reaffirmed that my decision is correct.

Hi everyone

Quick question, actually a favor for whoever is visiting next. Since Miznor's is closed I thought I heard you can sit in the tea room in the evening with a drink. Can anyone confirm that for me?

Also, if anyone can find out when the new bar is planning to reopen.

Thanks so much

The band is on the first floor and there is a temporary bar set up behind that. All of that is in front of the Garden View Lounge. There are a few people sitting in there but people also sitting out in the main lobby area with their drinks.

Thanks so much. I really can't wait to see the new bar, loving that its going to have an outside balcony. I don't think I am going to be able to drag myself away when it opens. I just always loved sitting and relaxing in Miznors, it was always beautiful and I love the cast members in there. It truly always made me feel like I was on vacation, my DH and I can sit there for hours at the end of the day and sometimes before we left for the parks.

Well, after 6 years of not being at Disney, we have FINALLY decided to come back home to the Grand Floridian!! I'm so excited, I can't even stand it! I know SO much has changed since we've been there, and I think we're all excited for Star Wars land. We're patiently waiting for the June 2020 packages to come out, and we decided on lagoon view. I love this thread so much because it's so fun to drop in on everyone's trip while we're waiting patiently for ours to come. If anyone has lagoon view pics, I would LOVE to see them!! Our first trip we were in Big Pine Key overlooking the water, and it was amazing. It's so fun to be back !!!

My husband and I will be staying at the Grand Floridian at the beginning of a August. It is our first time staying there. I have a few questions about transportation. We are doing the Villains Afterhours and I would like to know what would be available for getting back to the hotel from the MK afterwards. Also, what would be available for extra magic hours and early morning magic at the MK? What time should we plan on taking the transportation if we want to arrive early? I wasn't sure if the Monorail runs that early. I have stayed at the Contemporary and Polynesian before but I can't recall. I have one more question about the transportation to Epcot. What would be the best way to get there? I know it was easy from the Polynesian and don't recall any issues when I stayed at the Contemporary, but I have read others post that it was a hassle from here. I appreciate any information that anyone could provide.
I don't know about the AH events, but I did the EMM at Mk last summer and got a monorail a little after 7, I was there WELL before they let anyone in for the event (since they hold you until right at 7:45 before letting you step foot past the train station). They had the monorails running on time for that, and I know they do for EMH as well since I never had any issues at GF last summer.

Ok, Mr. Peter Werner posted his review.

I have to say he wasn't totally wrong. I still LOVE the Grand Floridian and I don't think anyone but myself could change my opinion. I just have so many beautiful memories there and its not just the rooms that make my stay magical.

I would love to hear what everyone thinks.

Can you post a link?
