Is Port Orleans FQ worth the difference over Pop?

I'm currently booked at Pop with free dining for September. I'm tempted to switch to POFQ, but not sure if it's worth the $1700 difference. We always stay at Pop and really enjoy it. Just wondering if I should save the extra money for other things.

I love POFQ But, I would NEVER pay 1700 difference to stay there over pop. POP is a great resort. We love it as much as a Deluxe, Nothing at all wrong with it.
I wouldn't pay 700.00 Difference to stay at any resort. When we go Moderate...its with pin codes and usually maybe 3-400 difference. Thats as much as id go.

We also love both resorts, and we love POFQ more than Pop and I would say no, not worth switching with that big of a difference.

It really all depends on you. First can you easily afford it? French Quarter is my favorite resort but the girls want The Poly on our next trip and the difference in that price really will scare you. Also is it just you or are you bringing children. Kids will probably like POP more.

That price difference feels bonkers high...I feel like it's usually about 100 dollar nightly difference (at least at rack rate) for standard rooms at both hotels.

That's correct. But I have a feeling the OP is including paying for a Dining Plan in the POFQ price since they would be getting it (free) in the Pop price.

I agree! The difference between the AKL and POP 6d/5n packages w/ free dining is almost half that, and ~600 after upgrading the QS plan at POP to DDP. That's comparing standard rooms at deluxe vs. value, too. Must be rack and/or DDP out of pocket? I know that POFQ was excluded from the Disney Visa promo.

I love POFQ and POR but with that kind of price difference I just couldn't justify it. POFQ is a smaller resort compared to POP and you get the boat to Disney Springs---but POP will likely have usage of the Gondolas to get to Epcot and HS which could be really nice as well. Perhaps look at other hotels if you are trying to test out a new resort. Often POFQ doesn't have as good of promotions as some of the other hotels. Think about what you could do with $1700?!

That's a decision we make almost every trip. Love, love, love POFQ. Also really love POP.

I have no answer for you, Skyycamel, because each trip is different. Sometimes I want to save the money, sometimes I want to stay at FQ just because.

I was wondering if there was a meal plan in there somewhere...i never get one, so I never include them in my cost projections.

$1,700 is a huge difference like the others said. I guess it kind of depends on how long you are staying for me. I do like Pop, but I don't know that I could stay there for two weeks, especially if I was going to have multiple resort days. If I had the $1,700 to spend and it was a two week stay, then I might consider it. If it is a one week stay, and you are spending the majority of your time in the parks then $1,700 is definitely not worth it.

How many nights are you staying? I made the same upgrade for my 7 night trip in December and it was only about $650 more for a garden view room at POFQ over a preferred room at POP.

Thanks for all the responses. Pop it is! I just hope the Gondolas will be up and running by the first week in September.
yeah those will be sweet! great and smart choice to stay at POP 1700 is a massive chunk of change
