Official AK Moonlight Magic Discussion

FP+ is only available during normal park operating hours.
And it's not needed, anyway. With nobody in the Fast Pass line, the standby queues move unexpectedly fast. You almost never stop moving.

You get a really good sense of how big the Fast Pass to standby ratio really is during normal operation.

Tried again this morning and was able to get in for the 8th this time. Everything sold out in about 17 minutes this morning.
Curious what number were you in the Q when it started up? I was 2165 and never got past 1704.
Last registration I got down to 200 and got a message - great news your going to get in... and then they shut it down.

Barred again.:headache:
This time I was 1491. They paused the line at 9:14 when I was 943. They announced everything sold out eight minutes later. That seems to mean that were only about 500 parties served this morning across three dates. Still so bummed.

Wow. We were able to get in (8/8). When the virtual queue opened there were only 146 people in front of us. I'm so sorry so many are disappointed again. This has been crazy.

I got lucky and started in the 250s- didnt log in until 8:30.

Bittersweet morning, Congrats to those who were able to snag a last minute ticket...sorry to those who could not.

I'm curious—And I don't to start an argument, just a general observation—I'm seeing reports of people who got to the page very early, including the night before, yet received very high queue numbers and did not get tickets. Meanwhile, I dropped in at about 7 min to 9 on the 1st day and got a number in the mid-200's. Do you think the system was pushing those who logged on very early toward the back of the pack? I know its supposed to be random, but did Disney kind of punish the people who were super early trying to get that early spot, even though we knew that the queue didn't open until a set time? I honestly don't know, and really no one knows what happens behind the scenes at Disney. But it just seems odd IMO.

No. It's completely random (I've been following posts on here and FB), and I understand it, but do not like it.

My own anecdotal evidence of that sort of supports your observations. Last time I tried for HS i logged in maybe 5-10 minutes before 9. I was 117. For AK i logged in on one device the night before and entered the queue (3000ish), forgot i had that screen open and used my laptop the next morning and logged in again 5 or 10 minutes before and had a number somewhere near 1500. I also kind of wonder if there is some sort of algorithm that takes into account the date you made your reservation, if you are at your home resort, points or cash, etc.

I am not. Own OKW but staying at BLT, and likewsie made the reservation pretty much at 7mos. But it is an interesting observation, or hunch.. IDK?

I'm staying at AS Sports on cash with a 40% CM discount so I'm about as cheap as you can go, and I got a number in the 600s when I logged in about a half hour beforehand, so they certainly didn't prioritize me based on how much I'm spending. A second browser window opened at the same time was in the 7000s. Also FWIW, the browser on my phone was still on the lobby page from the night before and it got a number in the 3000s.

We are staying at AKV Kidani Village on a free (comp) room that was made by DRC. I clicked the link in the email at about 8:40am and was assigned a number less than 200. So, truly a random number assignment.

I assume you have not followed the continuing saga of the misery which is fighting to register for MM events. Selling out in 2 hours is the norm. Many, many disappointed people in the past and unfortunately there will be many in the future. There is simply way more demand than space. They don't call it "The hunger games' for nothing :sad2: If you want to participate, then you need to be on the computer at exactly 9 and even then you may not win.
Unfortunately, this is correct. We have been to 2 MM at AK in 2017 and 2018. In 2017, I didn't get the original email so I was "late to the party" with attempting to reserve spots. So, for that year, I had no idea how easy/hard it was to get the tix. I did eventually get tix, about a month before the event, after I checked the reservation site daily for about 6wks. In 2018, I had problems with the site recognizing my reservation and didn't get it straightened out for a couple of days but I was able to still get tickets for MM at AK. So, yes, given my past experience, I thought for sure I would have no problem signing on the same day to get tickets. It is just plain crazy that they are gone in an hour.
You have been lucky with stalking the link? I thought it closes, or at least it used to...
In 2017, I was able to get tickets about 4 wks before the event. I just looked back on my posts to be sure and I mentioned something about maybe having to do with others canceling their tickets around the 30 day mark? But back then, they are released earlier than they are now. So I don't know.

Question. Since the event doesn't officially start until 9:30 but they're letting members in at 6, does that mean we should make fp+ for 6 - 9:30? We had already planned to be at AK anyway on the 8th and had FP for Na'vi, KS and FotLK. I switched Na'vi to 5:55, but FotLK's last show is around 4 (I think) and KS is showing no FP after 6 pm. Actually NO attractions are showing any FP availability after 6 pm After I modified the NRJ fp, everything dropped off the availability list except RoL. I know we don't need FP during the event, I'm just concerned about the 3 hours before it actually starts. TIA.

I have Kali at 6:05 and KS at 7:05 on 8/8, plus the new Animation Experience at 4:40. We're hanging out at our resort & pool and then going to DS for lunch and the afternoon.

Add on question, I hope it's okay. I believe one needs a park ticket in order to make FP ressies. Would the MM ticket show up in MDE in order to make FP res?
