Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

I have a feeling they won't be offered anymore. KennythePirate has said on his website that he will no longer offer this service.
I wonder how they will let guests know what's offered and when? Just a posterboard they can take photos of, or what? You don't mean they are eliminating the activities, right, just the calendar to hand out? I emailed DSS to ask, I'm curious what they will say now.

I imagine they're still handing out the activities guide at the hotels. I just meant that the various websites may not be posting the schedules for each month online anymore. Some of the other hotel threads on this board have posted the June schedule (i.e. Pop Century).

We stayed Polynesian Concierge n/k/a Club Level from 1994 to 2010, every single year. For all of the reasons you enumerated, along with the retirement/departure/separation of many beloved CMs those stays ended. We have been back to visit our beloved Polynesian, but not stayed since 2010. I have fond memories but during the final stay in 2010, we realized the magic was gone for us with regard to CL at Polynesian. It made us sad, but wow have we saved a lot on vacations thereafter.

Always interesting the ebbs and flows of guests, families, Disney, CL, etc. We only know CL 2013-present and have stayed at Poly CL each of those years. We have such fond memories and have met many beloved CMs, many who have become important parts of our trips.

I guess in some ways we are that “new family” to take the place of someone else who has moved on. We don’t know what we missed in prior times. But it struck me how a few of your brief descriptive words match the way we feel about the place today.

They should give you a printed handout when you check in. If they don’t, they have them at the CL CM desks.

Thanks! When I was reading on a lot of the resort threads that this months wasn’t available and they weren’t being posted online I had taken that to mean they were discontinuing them all together. I’m glad to find that isn’t what people meant, and it’s just that KTP isn’t posting them which is trickling down to a lot of other sites. Or at least that’s another supposition I’ve read. If nothing else I’ll find out Friday when we get to the BWI!

You're absolutely right. . .it is that sense of 'Ohana that is created along with the memories. You have ties to those who came after our group of beloved CMs--we are still in touch with a few. Our kids grew up, those we were close to at Polynesian moved on and it wasn't the same for us. It will, however, always have my heart and be my favorite for all the lovely memories family and otherwise.

Just wondering how the parking situation has been lately? I heard that the parking lot fills up sometimes and you have to use valet. We are driving down and I would probably drive to AK and DHS if I know I can find a parking spot when we get back in the evening.

I have a laundry question, if I am staying in a studio, can I use either laundry room at the Poly or only the DVC one? I know that the DVC ones are free but if the machines are being used, I wouldn't mind going to the other laundry room and paying to use those machines. Looking at the Laundryview app, it appears that the DVC laundry room has less availabilty.

If you e-mail Signature Services they may be able to send you a copy. I believe that is how the YC/BC got the June recreation schedule. Someone with a CL stay e-mailed asking for it.

I'm a bit surprised the calendar hasn't been integrated into the MDE resort section yet. They have an events tab, that rarely gets used.

You can absolutely use the resort laundry room if the free DVC units are unavailable.

I am curious about this too, as we will be staying at PO FQ, but my DD, SIL and granddaughter are at Poly all week. I was hoping we could check out of PO FQ on Friday morning, and then drive over and park at Poly for the character breakfast my DD scheduled. This way we can just leave from Poly, instead of bussing over and back from PO FQ just to get in the car and drive 4+ hours home.

I don't think it's that bad at all. Last year when we stayed it was fine all week both times (June and October). Also we were there for dinner 2 weeks ago and there was plenty of parking. Based on my experiences the last 3 trips, I think they've done a really good job of restricting parking at both the Poly and Wilderness Lodge to those who are guests or have dining reservations. Just be sure to mention you are there for dining and they will check your magic band.

For anyone who has stayed club level (in Hawaii building), I have a question. I’ve been trying to read (& search) the thread but I can’t seem to find whether the elevator is close to the lounge. We are celebrating my sister’s 65th birthday in September. Pop is 87 and has trouble with distances (back fractures), and both will have ECV’s so I would prefer first floor. If we are lucky enough to also get close to the elephant, and don’t have far to walk, he won’t need to take his ECV. (Sis just needs hers for the parks). Thanks for your help. This seems to be a very friendly group.

Hi!
The elevator is right outside the main lounge room on the second floor. Have a great trip!!
