@wendow and @vanjust14- I believe you are fellow Provident mortgagers- Do think if I put in memo Aug Payment in the memo but have it sent at the end of June, Provident would credit it properly? It’s on a MC so no monkeying with the name or anything. Trying to make the most of 1.5% fee.
They always deposit my payments right away and so far all have credited correctly but I’ve not paid that far in advance. I think @vanjust14 has been able to call and get her multiple payments credited correctly.

Obviously really behind, but am I a cucumber?? What the heck. Lol

So is it a guarantee to get that upgrade offer? I ask b/c I still don't have an upgrade offer for my old SPG card (can't keep up with the name of them now). I am trying to decide what to do with DH's hilton biz card. He does paid stays there, so I'm not sure I want to be stuck with the lower earning with the lower card for a year until he can upgrade. Maybe in my case I should have him go straight for the aspire?? Or just keep the biz? It just doesn't have good categories except hilton charges.

I don't know that it is a guarantee but it does seem to be very common.

The government secret has been released for Quarter 3...

Looks like I will be putting away my Bonblah biz card (old SPG biz) which I've been using for gas. Also glad that one of the gas stations nearby stocks Amazon GCs.

Met the MSR on DH's CIP so fast that I'm thinking of getting another card. Maybe getting on the grAAvy train. I've been trying to pay attention, but lots of details!

I had the Citi AA Biz before, earliest statement was August 2017. This was before I got serious about churning, so not on the spreadsheet. With the bonus posting without a mailer being uncertain, I'm wondering if I should just wait until September to clear 24 months?

So maybe the Barclays Aviator Biz. In California, so think they pull TU? Which is fairly clean - 3 inquiries and one of them is from a HELOC (does that count?). I have a downgraded Arrival, which doesn't get any spend except for when I took it to Europe last summer (true chip-and-pin). Do I need to put spend on it before I apply? And the other caveat is, if I'm unlucky, they might ask for verification after being approved. Did I miss anything?

PSA: Southwest gift cards purchased on or after 6/5/19 have not (yet?) credited on Amex cards with the airline fee credit

There are several reports in today's r/churning DP thread that Southwest gift cards purchased on or after 6/5/19 have not (yet?) credited on Amex cards with the airline fee credit. FlyerTalk also has numerous recent DPs of Southwest gift cards not crediting against the Amex airline fee credit. Typically, the airline fee credit reimburses qualifying purchases within 2-3, maybe 4 days, but these DPs go back longer that usual.

Hopefully this is just a glitch causing the delay -- and that's entirely possible (e.g., the glitch that didn't count transactions or trigger credits on 1/31/19, the glitch affecting calculated spend towards Delta bonuses around March/April); and not a change in coding by Amex or Southwest that stops gift cards from crediting.

I know several of us have been approved for the Amex Platinum and other cards with the airline fee credit recently. Tagging -- @PolyRob, @Killer Fish, @Jax1023, @Psychodisney, @amalone1013, @orangecuse, @havaneselover, and any one else I missed; and some are considering an upgrade to the Biz Plat, like @schmass, @kidsfirsttrip, @AmyAnne, and @1st*toright, or a Hilton Aspire.

You may want to hold off from selecting Southwest as your airline of choice or purchasing Southwest gift cards with the expectation they'll credit. I'll keep an eye on the DPs as they come in, but you can and should check with the FlyerTalk airline fee reimbursement reports threads for your selected airline before making any purchase against the Amex credit.

If you've already selected Southwest and gift cards no longer credit, you can usually chat with Amex and they'll let you change your selection at any time during the year as long as you haven't spent any of the year's credit.

I can be the bad datapoint if it doesn’t work. I chose SW waited for 2 days and bought 2 $100 gift cards on Monday...no credit yet...will keep everyone updated.

Did the charge post yet? Does it say "Document Type: SPD/AIR FREIGHT" or something else? When AA GC stopped crediting, the document type changed to gift certificate.

Very interesting having both a period and a space. Makes my 15 character German & Norwegian name with unusual spelling for each a veritable walk in the park!
My BIL is Greek, so my sister traded our easily spelled, but usually mispronounced last name for one that is always either misspelled or mispronounced (unless you are Greek) or both. It is 11 letters long and starts with Gz. Poor nephew is Alexander plus a long middle name, giving him both an X and Z in his name with a total of 31 letters in all.

Thanks for the info. I’m planning on using it for EBCI on several flights, not bothering with gift cards.

Thanks for keeping our little community here updated on the important reddit news. Just as an FYI for those who might not know, flyertalk has threads specifically devoted to each of the airlines that can earn travel credits through AmEx -- I always check there right before I attempt a purchase that I want to code as travel. And that Southwest thread is showing similar reports of problems: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ame...mbursement-reports-wn-southwest-only-121.html

I’ll add to that a strange DP that perhaps any spend from 6/7 or that range of days has not counted towards MSR:

Just so you're aware, those might not pending immediately once that charge posts. I met our MSR on Monday 6/10. Transactions posted on Tuesday 6/11. I still do not see my 80k points pending yet. I'm not worried at all...just pointing out that it can take a little bit of time for them to go pending :)
@bernina - my 80,000 points are now pending! :D :D

Happened sometime between 6pm today and now :D (and the awesome thing is my stmt closes tomorrow)

My first name has seven letters and my maiden name has eight. I am thankful my parents gave me a two letter middle name! I feel fortunate to ONLY have 24 characters and one z!
