My favorite was the Phyllis George Miss America Barbie. I got it by saving Box tops I think Corn Flakes. Plus I met her when she was Miss Texas

I don’t remember if she had an exact name.
I met my grandfather once (dad’s side).
He was well off & swung over once for Christmas. I think the whole visit left it’s mark, haha.
He brought me a beautiful Barbie in a fancy dress.

with the exception of the release of the twist and turn barbie i don't recall special ones coming out till i was aged out of playing with them. that said-special barbie outfits would get released when i was a kid and the one i wanted the most was the mary poppins set. i got it for christmas that year. it was a set with both the striped dress and apron and the white fancy dress/hat. i still have both.

My mom thought Barbie was pretty cool, and didn't understand why her son didn't want one.
The first five years we lived in our new house, I was age 3 to 8, and I was the only boy in the neighborhood. So my only playmates were girls who had Barbies, and they liked to put Barbies clothing on my GI Joe. But they were grossed out the if you weren't careful, GI Joes foot came off when you took his boots off. An issue Barbie never had.

PJ was my favorite....really the only one I had.

But I really wanted Malibu Barbie. Loved the idea of her getting a tan!!

But I was generally more into the Marx wester toys. And just wanted more stuff to go with Johnny West and General Custer.

I had tons (I may have been spoiled, but my mom says I was merely "well loved"), faves were the business barbie, pretty in pink, a crystal barbie, and a valentine barbie. I really preferred the dark haired ones though since I came out of the womb with dark, dark, hair. What I loved even more than my Barbies though? Jem - I had all of them, and the Misfits; all the accessories, etc. They were too big for my Barbie townhouse (I wanted that not the dream house) and that made me so mad as a kid! Now, my mom and dad must buy the girl everything Vampirina...lol.

No favorite, but I loved these ones (we were just talking about it in another thread)...Day to Night Barbie

Sis & I each had the Peaches & Cream barbie posted above, but they had slight variations in the colors of the dresses, it was weird, we were like, is this the same Barbie?!

Loved the Star Trek barbie posted above too!

And then this one, the Chinese Empress:

Growing up, we had blonde barbies. As we aged, we got brunette ones!

Mine was "Busy Barbie" - she had hands that held stuff. I remember the TV, but now that I see the package, I did have all of the other pieces as well. She had a nifty patchwork skirt. My favorite accessory was the carousel kitchen -- it was so amazing.
