Would someone be able to help me with figuring out the best business CC to get.

If you have not opened up 5 personal credit cards from any issuer in the last 24 months
Definitely the Chase Ink Preferred...CIP..you receive 80k URs after spending $5k in the first 3 months...To keep it simple apply using your first and last name...nothing else as the business name and your SS number as the business EIN

So I'm such a novice at this. What is a *GT rate?

I know @disneymagicgirl answered this question. I was just going to add that AA miles don't work sadly. The only way to get a discount (other than booking a GT room) that I have found is to use a TA (like Costco) for some on board credit (or cash back with Costco) and paying with discounted Disney GCs. The cruises are amazing, and if you can restrain yourself from the crazy "you have to try/book/buy" this on the ship, it's pretty close to all-inclusive, so you can get by without lots of extra daily spending. We love DCL but yes, it's an expensive vacation.

Thanks for the recommendation. I listened early on and they really weren't great at the beginning and then I forgot all about it. I'll have to check it out again and just skip ahead a bit.

They got to the point they awere.doing live shows in front of like 2k people. They had merch and are prob a small part of showing it was still popular enough for year in the life to happen. Kinda crazy how it went. One of them does a maisel podcast but I've never listened since I don't watch. The other I think has one too but a totally dif subject that I'm not interested in.

We've already stayed at POP so don't want to stay there. I did see Wilderness Lodge and I'm considering it. We wouldn't want to do AoA. I did find the Swan for $212 and Dolphin for $196. Are those good prices? We've never stayed there. Do they have park buses like the other hotels?

I don't know how those prices are for swolphin because we stayed there on points, but DH and I liked it. Location is nice. They do have park buses and you can walk or boat to DHS and EPCOT. I liked being right on the boardwalk, without paying the beach club or boardwalk prices 😉. No airport shuttle though, but I'm assuming you're driving anyway.

Yep we'd just be driving an hour lol. I'll have to run through everything with Dh. It would be nice to be in the MK area after DAH, but our off days would be nice near Epcot.

I'm trying so hard not to get DH the new SW biz. Those 80K RR (plus referral?) would be so nice. But I want to wait until the end of the year for CP. Mine expires this year and we got a lot of use out of it. He needs a MSR though.
He has some older cards, plus:
2/17 CSP, changed to CFU
2/17 CF
3/18 CIP #1
5/18 CIC
6/18 Amex Hilton Biz
9/18 SPG Biz
11/18 IHG premier
2/19 Capital One Venture
5/19 CIP #2

Maybe start him on the hilton no fee card and cancel the biz.....
I started the AA cards myself and don't have a lot of use for them so going to skip those for him, for now.

What about the Amex BBP..or a different Amex business card that earns MRs

Those prices for swolphin are too high for my taste, once you add on parking and resort fees.

I didn't save stuff either...Wanna hear something SUPER sad?? I let my mom donate my stuffed Figment that I got in 1983 when Epcot had first opened  And now I have a dd who is Figment crazy and I cannot even hand down that precious toy that I loved so much it was the only souvenir I got that trip (I was only allowed one). It kills me now knowing how flippantly I basically threw him away (didn't want clutter...). Then you have children and perspective changes...at least it did for me...I do save the toys that are my kid's favs. My dh gets me a tub and I pack them up and put them in the attic. If we end up moving, I may have to make some hard choices but for now, I have the space so I'm keeping.

My Mom did save many of our favorite stuffed animals. My girls wouldn't play with them when they were younger because they didn't age very well. Some of them were very sad looking. Mom also kept my wooden kitchen set, table/chairs, and rocking chair which they really enjoyed. The Barbies also kept pretty good. I have tried to save their favorite toys in tubs, but I put their American girl dolls and clothes in archive boxes.

I’m actually not sure yet. At least a year lol. But I think I want to keep a Plat long term because I frequently fly delta to NY and I love the skyclub if I kept a Plat it would probably be schwab because of the cash out option and the bonus you get if you have schwab investments. But idk I may cancel after a year.
Thanks! I should probably have a couple hundred MRs under my belt before even applying for it. I don't really want double Plat AFs, especially if I am no where near ready to cash out. I read about the process on DISChurners awhile back. I will have to make the best MR plan after I finish the personal Plat.

If I do go ahead with my multiple CIP plan, I am extending a lot of cards out for URs, but won't have any real MSR. All the MSRs will be spoken for. I may try hitting up Citi AA miles because I am bitter about the removal of benefits from my other cards. 😂

Are Bonblah points transfers usually instant? I called in to have 3000 points transferred to DH's account to top his off for a 2 night stay I'd like to book. This was about 2 hours ago. The points are showing in his activity, but it does not reflect in his point balance.

Could you also just go for all the Amex Biz MR charge cards?

Hi and Welcome
Most of us here start with chase cards due to their 5/24 rule which means they will not approve you for a card if you have opened 5 or more personal credit cards with anyone in the last 24 months

A lot of the Chase cards with the highest sign up bonuses require you to put $3k to $5 on them to receive the bonus URs

.... you said can put $1,500 on a card in 3 months...so unless you have large bills coming up....insurance, taxes or can prepay utilities.....I wouldn’t recommend them....you don’t want to incur additional expenses to receive a sign up bonus

Some Chase cards that would fit your budget
If you fly Southwest their personal cards offer a 40k RR sign up bonus after spending $1k in the first three months....

Not sure which Chase Freedom card you have does it have the quarterly 5x spend categories or earn 1.5 points on all purchases.

You could open whichever one you don’t have...both Have a 15k UR bonus after a $500 spend if....you apply through a support link on our reddit DISchurners page

The no fee Disney card also offers a $200 statement credit after a $500 spend

Thanks for your reply. If my husband adds all of his expenses on a credit card with my expenses, we may be able to spend $3K-5K. What Chase cards do you recommend?

We have both of the Freedom cards and the Disney card already.

That's exactly what I needed to know since we haven't stayed there. Thanks for your input! I'm thinking we'll probably end up doing WL because the pool looks fun and it's close to MK
We were there once for a night or two in a BRV studio post cruise. We liked how it felt like a world away from the parks but it isn't and you can even see MK fireworks. Apparently you can buy lounge access for $99 which is pretty cool. We loved the Geyser Pointe restaurant and ate there more than once.

You can buy lounge access? I had no idea! I'm not sure if we would do that or not, but it's an interesting thought. I'm guessing that's per person/night?

question- to merge my Chase biz and personal,I have to call right? no sm?
I just did this and had to call.
If anyone has old Playmobil toys they DON’T want to save for their grandchildren someday, they resell really well on eBay!
Good to know, because after the Legos are done, I'm starting on Playmobil!
We have all our kids' Playmobil saved----2 pirate ships, the big island, the little island, the Victorian house with the extra level added, all the furniture, etc---plus a ton of Brio trains and track (no Thomas bc ds was too old for that once it was popular), so much American Girl doll (4 dolls total plus furniture and accessories), and the play kitchen still
The Red Corsair was my son's favorite thing in the word for YEARS. I am so sad he is all done with it but he's 15 so... :(

Ugh, I need to rant. I’m going to Maine Saturday and the Portland airport rental car facility closes at 12:30. We land at 12:10am. I tried calling the place to let them know we maybe a bit late but to wait and I keep getting transferred to their international call center. Ughhh they also said if I was delayed they won’t wait but don’t worry I can pick up the car up to 15 hours after my reservation. Like ok but where the hell am I going to go while I wait for you to open again at 6am??

You may have already been able to get in touch with the counter in Portland but I would bet they are there till the last plane comes in. I have to go up there frequently for work and the last time I didn't land till 12:30 AM and the rental counters were still open. It was surprisingly quite busy. So if you haven't already, try to get in touch with the counter in Portland.

sorry about the car but all I can say about Portland is Empire Chinese Kitchen and Holy Donut. Yum.

I haven't been to Empire Chinese Kitchen but Holy Donut...oh yum!!

My girls each have 4 or 5 AG dolls with accessories and some small furniture pieces that they’ve saved. We won’t part with those either. Starting to sound like I should be on an episode of Hoarders :rotfl:
We have bunches of American Girls too. My oldest has passed them to my next two younger girls. I'll save them and split them among the girls someday. One year for Christmas my sister gave my DD her old American Girl. We sent her to the doll hospital and had her all cleaned up and new looking. That was a special one ♥

We have so much AG stuff!! I will eventually pack it all up and save it but right now my youngest is still all AG, all day. I love that she's 10 and still loves her dolls. I do dread where I am going store them all, I'm afraid the attic might get too hot and distort them. I guess I'll figure it out when the time comes.
