If anyone is looking for may 2020 flights two days ago I booked on the BA app direct flights for two people on the 30th April returning the 13th May for a total cost of £735.00 I have never presses the confirm button quicker. Tickets all printed and seats all booked . Yes this cost includes 23kg of luggage .

Hope this helps someone n

We have booked BA for September... not quite as cheap as that but still loads cheaper than virgin!
Daughter booked Virgin for departure on 11th February 2020 for 2 Adults and 2 Children and the flight was around £960 on the day of booking last month - even the rep was mildly surprised at the price - Classic Economy so 23 Kg case for each person included.

Great price, pretty much cheaper than Norwegians base price with luggage etc.

We will be taking BA from the US to LHR the end of the month and would like to know if they measure the suitcase or just weigh it at check in. With my suitcase I am just at the height limit the length and width are fine. I know on the airlines we use in the US it seems with the weight sometimes their scale is a little different than the number we got when we weighed it at home right before we left for the airport so do not want to have an issue if they come up with different measurements than what we have and say it is slightly too big. I do have a smaller suitcase I can use but we will be doing a 2 week London and Paris plus a day and a half at DLP trip and would prefer the bigger one if possible. Thanks!

The Weight is more important ( manual lifting regulations ).

If in doubt of weight take a few items out ......... making way for bought items while on holidays .

Also you will have an overhead locker small bag and an Emptyish Rucksack / Backpack

Are you referring to the checked in bag for the hold? Or have you gone cabin bag only?

I think you’ll find for checked bag no size limits but weight, which they will enforce. Cabin bags they are more likely to be picky about the size with due to space restrictions in the cabin as well as weight for this too. There are also times when the cabin bag will end up being taken to the hold if they run out of room in the cabin.

The rucksack mentioned above would come under personal bag that must be small enough to fit under the seat in front, so not very big and if taking this no handbag as well!

I was referring to a suitcase that will be checked in the hold not taken in the cabin. It gave measurements on the website along with the weight so that is why I was wondering if they actually measure or just weigh. Thanks!

We've never flown with BA before but the cost is coming out at almost £1000 cheaper than VA (3 adults in May 2020) Economy on the outward journey and PE on the way home (got to pack all those Bath and Body products, Pop Tarts and Swiss Miss drinking chocolate  )
We'll have to get to LGW but DH has offered to drive us down and collect us :lovestruc
Do you have to pay extra for drinks or is it like Virgin where it's all included?
Also, when can you book your seats? I'm getting a little confused (not difficult at the moment ) Is it not until 24 hours before you fly?
Thanks :flower3:

I seem to remember when we went with BA to Barcelona last year it was 24 hours before, unless you have flying club privileges. But we were sat together. They don’t do the Ryanair thing of deliberately splitting you up if you don’t pay! I think transatlantic it’s free soft drinks and a glass of wine with your meal.
