Let's Rediscover the Magic! - New TR 7/26

Sounds very busy, but glad your DS got some great life lessons in there. Take it easy (as much as you can) and have a great trip!

In addition to this being the week that we're leaving for vacation, it is also the week of our county fair
You guys really know how to pack it all in!!! It really does all seem to pile on at the same time.

It was a proud parent moment for sure.
It is so great when you have a moment like that, for sure. Congrats you the parents!

So anyway, I haven't been on the boards much. I haven't been at work much. I get to move animals tomorrow, go to work Friday and then I'll be sleeping in Florida Saturday night. Holy crap, I'm tired and I'm not even at Disney World yet.
Well, try and relax a little while in Disney! And have a great trip!!!!

Wow, DS looks so much older! Good for him on staying so level-headed with his first 4-H showing. I know it's a lot of work!

HAVE FUN ON YOUR TRIP!!! I can't believe you leave within the day! Have such a great and wonderful time - and I will cross all my fingers and toes that the meltdowns are minimal. Whether a full report or just some highlights, we'd love to hear about it once you're back!

So... we're rolling out in less than 12 hours. I just got a text that mom and dad have booked 4 nights at the tail end of our time in Disney World.

I take this as a positive. DD wanted mom to see her swim like a mermaid so they plan to be there for that. They will also help control the chaos our kids create and have made it clear that they want to help and not make us change any of our plans or FPs...

However, here I sit trying to see if we can add 2 more onto a couple of ADRs without causing a butterfly effect on our plans!

Exciting! In case you don't have luck changing your ADRs, it may also be possible to add them at the podium if you ask nicely. I would highly recommend looking the evening and night before as well, as many folks make changes right before they'd be charged a fee!

Good luck!

Day 1... don't want to jinx it but he's doing better than expected so far. Better than the oldest who is now too cool for princesses and has way too much attitude. As I type he's napping in the stroller and is worn out from chasing popcorn eating birds.

FYI... seeing inconsistencies in rider switch already.

Space gave DW a rider switch to come back. BTMRR would only give it to the older kids so they could ride again. They wouldn't give it to me. I had to use FP and be back within the window. Good thing we were there early enough to make it work.

Here's hoping it stays magical. (even with the older anti-princess)

So glad LG is doing good! I'm sure dealing with oldest son's coolness is easier to deal with than LG's outburst.

I'm really worried about this.

Fingers crossed for a magical trip all around! Sounds like you're off to a cautiously good start. :)

The rider switch issues have the potential to be frustrating. I don't like the bit where you needed to still use your own FP window...that feels totally counter-intuitive to the purpose of rider switch. Like, what if there was some kind of problem on their end that caused you to be late getting back for yours? I understand if they're going to require everyone in the riding party to have a FP, but not if they do it the way they did that time.

Thanks for the updates! Glad to hear DS is handling things well so far. Hopefully the Disney birds continue to mellow him out enough to allow you to keep him in the stroller the rest of the trip.
Ugh, kids and their attitudes. It's a test of your patience.

Hope you were able to work your parents into your plans for the last half of the trip, and if not hope you didn't stress about it too much. Extra sets of hands is always a plus when it comes to kids and Disney.

Day 2: jinxed it. Meltdown occurred on spaceship earth. I feel sorry for everyone else riding when we did. When did they make that ride longer?

I'm a little bit mixed on this crowd thing. Honestly, crowds in general have not been bad at all. No overcrowded walkways, etc. However lines have been stupid long. I honestly don't believe we've waited less than 20 minutes for anything when using fp or rider swap. I saw areas of the spaceship earth and jungle cruise queue using fp that I've never seen before. It is kind of getting me frustrated from the planning perspective that you expect fast pass to be relatively fast. Might not be an 80 minute wait but at least you let the people getting in standby know they'll be there that long. Maybe I've been spoiled in the past but I've not experienced consistently long waits in fast pass like I've been seeing the past 2 days.

Sorry Day 2 wasn't as good as Day 1! Here's hoping things get a little more magical!

Have a great rest of the trip :bounce:

Oof! Day 2 sounds a little less warm and fuzzy. How frustrating about the fast pass lines! Your crew looks pretty fabulous, however, in the Garden Grill picture with Pluto. :)

Thanks for the updates and picture! Sorry Day 2 included a Meltdown. :(
I also noticed the longer waits for FP- especially on the Jungle Cruise- and they were letting people in the FP line that DID NOT have FPs... I wish they'd be consistent.

Oh no!! If today was ruff that means tomorrow will be better (fingers crossed). Your family picture is really good! Looks like everyone was enjoying their meal.

Sorry to hear about the rough second day. I agree with you that attraction waits have become much longer than they used to be. Too many Fastpasses distributed, maybe? :confused3
Here's to hoping the rest of your trip is more like your first day!
