Debt Dumpers - 2019

But...Pop will have the trams up and going so it'll be a madhouse! The atmosphere at FQ is lovely. DH and I visited it in December and thought it'd be a fantastic place to getaway.

Closing in on another $25 in Swagbucks. Just wishing, like @crazycatstacy that I'd win the lottery. I don't even play it, but I'll dream.

I didn't even think about the skyliner being at Pop and how crazy that might make it! I just want to stay at FQ so I can get Beignets every day!

While the skyliner sounds great and may be a reason in itself to stay there for skyliner to HS, the Pop though in the pictures I see online for it just doesn't look appealing to me. I know it's a popular destination due to price. However, FQ looks great from the resort pics online, and that along with POR seems like a great place to stay for the atmosphere. I'd swing for that one if possible!

I had no interest in anything on Prime day, so no purchases.
Same here. Just couldn't find anything that blew my socks off. And that is good on my budget because we did blow our budget and bought concert tickets to take our family to in November.

Was in an unwanted group text this morning between my brother and his ex-wife, our mom, her parents, and I'm assuming their new spouses. He hasn't been paying child support and she needs help with school supplies. I said I would send her a gift card today to help with them. Aggravates me that my brother is so worthless- doesn't surprise me but aggravates me none the less.

That's really super nice of you. Is she accepting that offer? I would personally turn that down, if I were the ex-spouse, or would be nice if the grandparents -if able to afford unexpected expenses - could be so kind as to help their grandchild/children. Her parents aren't offering to help with supplies or can't? I would jump to help out my grandbaby. Difficult situation to be caught in, I would hope there would not be much more but I would suspect that if support isn't being paid there will be more situations. Somehow out of four children I'm the only one to have kids, my siblings never did and never will, so I don't get to experience nieces or nephews. School supplies may or may not be terribly expensive, depending on ages and what all is included in the term school supplies. When I think of back to school, our supplies run about $100 for two kids, just depends on what brands or ability to get some in bulk or not. But, I also think new shoes, socks, maybe backpack, light jacket, pants, shirts, etc.

Chugging along here! I plan to transfer another $2,000 to our savings account on Monday. I also just realized that August is a three paycheck month. :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

We didn't get to take advantage of the 1st 3 paycheck month earlier this year due to some unexpected emergency expenses, but this one we will! It will be going toward vacation savings since not only are we going to WDW end of March, but we also decided to go on our first DCL cruise in November next year! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

She is accepting it and I expected her to. This is a known issue and typically she will text me if there is something he needs or wants to see if I can help. She said she didn't this time because she hates to bother me and feels like it is not my responsibility. I don't understand either grandparent- my side or hers, they are both able to help but, in my opinion, are too busy blaming the other parent for how things are that they don't focus on my nephew. Prior to my nephew moving to Florida when he was almost 5 he spent every weekend with my husband and I starting when he was two weeks old and he spent a summer with us when he was 6. We have taken him to Disney three times and we see him as our child or a grandchild to us so we would always be willing to help. I send clothes and items randomly to him and I just was with him in Disney in March/April and bought him all new summer clothes for that but he will need some pants and things for sure.

I miss 3 paycheck months now that I'm semi monthly!!!

But I do make up for it by pulling $100 a month to the side for Christmas so that I don't need to worry about it.

dd is bi-weekly but when she started the job i suggested she do her budget based on monthly w/ 2 checks so that she does'nt consider that extra $$$. so far so good-both 3rd checks are lump sum payments to her student loans.

my income is once a month but i do the christmas thing too (so nice to have it set aside when those good holiday sales start popping up).

Made it through prime day. Only bought a few things for our house and a new fitbit that I had the money set aside for already. I already know this month's budget will be a little over what I had hoped, but only by about $100-200 and I can make that up from other columns. Both my kids will be gone for periods of time, so I am taking advantage of that and taking the remaining kid out for shoes and whatever they need for BTS NOW. I was able to cover all but $75 of my daughter's expenses. My son at this point doesn't need any clothes, just needs two new pairs of shoes and I am debating taking him to get fitted for his own pair of spikes for XC. His coach always tells us not to, because their club has a whole rubbermaid full of them, but my son is #2 on his team, and I really think it's worth investing in a pair. I think it could help his performance. But they're not cheap obviously.

Our new budget set up is working really nicely. Our total CC debt now starts with an 11, which is down from last month! Next month is a bonus month for my husband, so we've got about 3k going towards our cards, so I am hoping that 11k will drop much further down.

The end of the year is going to be a very expensive time for us, so I am really really hoping to our CC debt as close to zero as possible. Next year will be all about getting braces paid for (for both kids), and building savings, and funding the 529s that we opened for them.

Also, today was weigh in day for me, and I am down 44.4 lbs. 5.6 more to go until I can open my new fitbit!

You are a gem! My brother is bipolar, but before we knew (years ago) we just thought he was useless (sad, but true). His wife left him, took the 3 boys with her. He never paid anything, didn't see them much. DH and I did the helping, we had 2 boys so when they went to visit my bro, he would watch TV the whole time and they would end up at my place. My mom was kinda snotty about her, so she would only help when I guilted her into it (which I had no problem doing - that's how I roll). That sweet little boy is what matters, bless you!

Which Comic Con do you attend? We are doing NYC Comic con in October.
We attend Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle every year, been taking the boys for years. We used to travel to other cons, too, but after a fruitless visit to San Diego comic con (a lottery for everything) we decided to hit the one we like best. It still costs a lot, though. We drive in on a Wednesday and leave the following Monday (con runs Thur. -Sun.). We rent a nearby condo now to save on all the eating out instead of a downtown area hotel room.

Yeah we’ve pretty much given up on ever getting tickets to SDCC, too. We enjoy NYC as it’s an hour and a half train ride so other than train tickets and admission fees, we don’t have to spend much to attend. We’ve wised up and now go on Thursday since Saturday is super crowded. Wall to wall people but the cosplay is amazing on Saturday. Last year we lucked out and won the lottery to the Marvel and Funko POP booths. We were able to get a few exclusive figures and pops which was nice.

Emerald City is a good con. I know they had big names a few years ago, a few of the Avengers including Chris Evans aka Captain America and Tom Holland aka Spider-Man. Nice to see a fellow con fan in the house..:-):-):-)

I would imagine there is something underlying with him, but he refuses to do anything about it and I have long since ran out of patience. He is on his third marriage and his third child and he just never changes. His two oldest boys are adults and have children and he has never met the grandkids nor does he talk to the boys. He likes to play the Victim and pretend he has no ownership in all this! I could go on and on for days about how frustrating he is but I won't. LOL. Thanks for the kind words!
