T-Rex review. Agree or...?

Overpriced themed dining. Prefer the other overpriced themed dining, RFC lol...which I book direct rather than thru disney dining.
Either Great for kiddos ..

T-Rex is definitely not Applebees, Applebees is terrible. It's more of a Fridays. (Trust be there is a difference between the two.)

It's an over priced Fridays dinner with cool atmosphere for kids. You're going there for the appetizers, burgers and sandwhiches. Do not go for the "entrees".

Kind of a tangent to the main point but in Ohio Applebee’s definitely has a step up on Friday’s. They’re both mediocre but Friday’s went down the tubes here over the past 5 or so years. I would hope T-Rex has them both beat.

What does everyone think? My parents loved T-Rex and we've done rainforest cafe (meh but the coronarita was awesome)

Thoughts on the review?

I haven’t heard the review yet but I ate there about 3 years ago and hated it so much I will NEVER go back. Food itself wasn’t bad but the service was so slow. We were a table of 2 adults and 1 kid eating around 2 pm in a mostly empty restaurant. Our experience took over 2 hours and we didn’t even get dessert. We were on the dining plan so we ordered it but after waiting 20 minutes we got up and left.

It wasn’t like we got fancy food. We ordered burgers. Our waiter disappeared for like 40 minutes after bringing out the main course. When we finally saw him again we signed for our meal and ordered dessert to go and like I said it never materialized.

They order basic items and they get criticized for being too basic (Mac and Cheese Steve). If they branch out then it is their fault for not going basic. They can't win.

Getting appetizers and desserts I think is appropriate for all dining reviews so you can have as large a breadth of samplings as possible. If you aren't going to get those then don't take those parts of the review into account if you use the reviews for your planning.

Don't blame them for ordering "the wrong thing". If it's on the menu, it should be good. If they are no good at making cream sauce and mushroom ravioli then take it off the menu.

That said, the only mistake they made was going to that train wreck of a restaurant. It's terrible Applebee's food with terrible Chuck-E-Cheese-grade animatronics.

Anyone else have trouble listening? Checked two podcast players and both played a second copy of Toledo instead of TRex so I haven't been able to hear it.

I'm having the same problem. The audio version is just the Toledo review again instead of TRex.

I always found it to be low level chain Applebee's/Chili's level. I don't have a problem with Applebee's/Chili's at all. Last time we went (2015), it was worse. The adult entrees were Applebee's quality, but the kid meals were nearly inedible. (And at that time, my kids would eat a happy meal from McDs, so they were not foodies) We did submit a review and got a call back from the manager, but we wouldn't be returning anytime soon. In 2016, we went to RFC instead and enjoyed that much more.

I have had better food here then at other table service restaurants at Disney. At least at T-Rex, you get a really amazing ambiance that I enjoyed as much as my children. Their iconic dessert (Chocolate Extinction), is a great family dessert. My kids still talk about it. The fact that it will remain a memory for them is enough for me to give T-Rex a positive review and recommend everyone to experience it.
