Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Upcharge or Add On Events Thread

so about 6 weeks ago i booked a VIP tour in WDW bc we are going the 3rd of dec to the 8th well...the day we picked dec 5th. i dont know if i am very lucky or going to waste my money our intenetion is 100% to spend the morning in star wars land. now food for though the price we were booked at is 550 per hour.....i see a few posts up its now 650. that tells me we will have access to the land. why else would the price go up so much. i am so glad i booked it now bc i was going to be up on a list to be called....
When I called and asked about Private VIP Tours the CM told me that the price was based on the date. She said the weekend (Fr, Sat, Sun) would be $550 an hour and the Weekdays were $425 an hour. I didn't hear anything about $650. I called after the ROTR date had been released on July 12.

I called the day ROTR opening date was announced and was told $650 for the 5th, 6th, and 7th then it drops to $425 after that.

I don't know if this is the appropriate place to put this, if it isn't, I apologize. I just booked a VIP tour for December 8th - they still don't know if they will have access to SWGE but it can be canceled up to 48 hours prior and you don't pay until then so I figured, why not book it.

I'm also interested in finding 8 more people to join the tour so I can actually afford it lol

Are you planning on just doing DHS and SWGE?

Right now I'm strongly considering just doing HS and SGE. I'm waiting to see how they handle SGE opening and any VIP tours in HS before I decide. I'd love to maximize whatever a Plaid could provide in SGE. It's unclear what exactly that will be. Never done a VIP tour before. I'd love to know how people handle splitting tours. I imagine that the logistics in the splitting of a tour could be challenging.

I split a private RIP tour at Universal for Halloween Horror Nights last year. Some of the people who joined me were friends. Others I found on the Universal forum on DISboards. You can find an appropriate forum for yours. Basically, I posted that I had spots available, when the tour was, and that people should PM me if they are interested. If you discuss a price per person directly on the boards, that could be viewed as selling, which is verbotten. I had people pay me via Paypal once they agreed that they wanted to go. You may delay payment for yours since WDW doesn't make you pay immediately I split the total cost by the the total number of people allowed on the tour to determine the price per person. Also, don't forget to include a tip for the guide in your price per person. Most people tip between 10% and 25%. It's usually easier to collect the tip amount up front from each person rather then letting each person pay it themselves/ That way someone can't decide to stiff the guide. It was very easy, and I wasn't really out anything, since I was able to fill the tour. Since I bought the tour, I told people that we would be following my plans and explained what I wanted to do. If I was flexible about something or someone had something that they absolutely wanted to do, then I tried to accommodate that. You will have to pay for the tour yourself; Disney won't let multiple people pay. Luckily, I don't think you have to pay for WDW VIP tours until a day or two before the actual tour date. The Universal RIP Tour had to be paid for in full when I booked it in June for an October tour.

Awesome. If anyone books a tour in Nov. for the 8th through the 16th, my party of 3 would be interested depending on the price.

We have a tour booked for Sept. 2nd and got the same call! We are willing to have another family join us too!

I love this idea. We're six, so a group of four could join us the first week of January. I'll also be there in mid-November with a SW *insane* girlfriend, and could join another group. LOL, VIP Tours are so $$$$ that there needs to be a special thread on the DIS meet-up section just for consolidating parties into tours. :P
GL to everyone who gets to do this, and we'll be waiting for your breathless reports!

ETA: I just called the VIP Tour line, and asked about RotR. The CM said they only know about Smuggler's Run, and don't yet know whether RotR can be added after it opens. FYI

If i remember correctly I believe they said it was something like $550/hr X 7 hours = $3875 for up to 10 people (that was for my period of 11/1-11/10).

We're going to WDW December 9th. We might be interested to join your group if you could change the date
