Too old for character meets?

Definitely! I loved the Character Breakfast as my nephews did and have tons of shots of just me with the characters. I didn't do the autographs because we're trying to reduce clutter, but I think for the next trip I want to try having them sign a photo frame because then it's art!

My last trip to WDW I was a 14yr old who was "too cool" for the character meets, but now I wish I would've got some pictures! So would it be weird for a 25yr old guy to meet, take pictures, and/or get character autographs? I'm taking my first solo trip 10/31-11/3 since Halloween is my favorite holiday so I really want to atleast get a picture with Jack and Sally!

I'm 35. Went to WDW this past February. I made my own autograph book (actually it was just a pocket notebook but designed a cover for it) and collected them for the first time. Never too old for characters & autographs.

And if you can afford it, character meals

And as long as you're cool and polite to the princesses, it's not creepy to get pics with them either. Most will ask to take your arm when photo ready but my first time meeting Rapunzel we did a back to back pose. I think she saw I was a bit shy and decided I might be more comfortable being a "ruffian".

No matter the character and no matter one's age, they'll do their best to make sure it's a good meet.

The characters do NOT make you feel awkward in any way. It’s a no brainer for anything with a full body costume.

I did feel out of place as a 40 year old man using a fast pass to see Tinkerbell by myself... but feeling that is all on me. The cast member made no judgements and made me feel welcome. I am sure I wasn’t the first, won’t be the last, and certainly wasn’t creepy about it.

I’ll admit I expect to feel just as out of place doing the same thing with the princesses later this month. However, it’s worth it for the photo op.

Right there with you. I'm always feeling a little awkward around the princesses in part because a)I'm aware of things they have to put up with and b)still trying to shake off "they're for girls" mindset. Tinkerbell was one of my favorites last time I visited too.

I celebrated my 60th Birthday with Winnie the Pooh and gang. I am turning 66 next month and I have already booked 1900 Park Fare and Crystal Palace for our next trip. You are NEVER TOO OLD to do what ever makes you happy. I mentioned to my wife that maybe we shouldn't do the character meals any more and she almost tore my head off, thank goodness. I go to WDW to feel like a kid again and I get that feeling every time we visit. Worth every dollar.

I’m 38 and sobbed like a five year old when we met Tiana last year. My partner and I did more character meals that time than I ever did as a kid, including CRT. We plan on doing even more next trip! Maybe it’s different as an adult female but every face character we met with seemed to enjoy interacting with us and cut a little more loose than with the kids. Jack Sparrow in particular was a hoot. But, I am also a cosplayer so I’m used to “playing dress up” and it doesn’t feel awkward having conversations with people in costumes.

I was 51 and brought to tears when I first met my hero, Mary Poppins, on a family trip. I'm not that into character meets when solo, but I made a beeline last year, when I glimpsed her on a side path in MK. I was charmed all over again.

You are never too old in Disney.

We are a family of all adults now. Along with our signature restaurant dinners and hanging out at Trader Sam’s, we always do character meals. Every time we go to Cinderella’s Royal Table for breakfast; ‘Ohana character breakfast; Cinderella’s stepsisters, stepmother, and Prince at the Grand Floridian; Pooh & Friends at Crystal Palace...we have no shame.

It's never weird, unless you're weird about it. If you love the characters and appreciate what the performers are doing for the art of it all, nobody will have any issue with this ever. People of all ages and backgrounds meet the characters every hour of every day. If the characters embody the magic of Disney to you, then you should definitely go get the photos you missed all those years ago.

What performers?😜

My husband is a 6’4, retired military, full sleeved biker and he turns into a 5 year old when he sees Stitch. He even has a Stitch tattoo! (It also means I have to go to ‘Ohana every single trip, but he’s worth it) So, no. Characters are great!

I don’t, however, wait in long lines to meet them because there are other things I’d rather do.

The Halloween Party is an amazing time. I went a couple years back at age 36 dressed up as Russell from Up and took pics with everyone. Have fun and enjoy yourself!

Personally, I don't think it's creepy at all. My wife and I are in our mid-30's and we enjoy meeting characters both at in-park spots and during meals. We don't spend a 'ton' of time doing it, but for characters we want to see, we make it a priority. I completely understand that feeling of "How does this look?" or "Will I look creepy?," but that should only throw you off as long as you let it. The parks and world of Disney were created to allow everyone, including us adults, to feel like a kid whenever they want. Run with it!

After we had been going to WDW for 6 years, my mother in law and father in law decided they wanted to go. My father in law, who was 74 at the time, had never flown nor been farther away from home than he could drive. We bought him an autograph book and he was like a little kid, just about running from character to character getting autographs and pictures taken. The characters were great with their interaction with him.He was especially excited to get an autograph from Dopey, who he met with Snow White in Germany. You're never too old.
