Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Almost there. 1st leg of the journey done, 3 hour drive to the airport. Early start tomorrow 3am. Got 2 flights tomorrow with a 3 hour layover. By the time we get to YC and to bed, it'll be 24 hours on the go tomorrow. Wish me luck lol.
See ya real soon. X
Hydrate!!! All those connections have you on the go and you forget to drink! Also, a nice fruit or good fresh foods to keep your energy up...exciting to rest your head at YC at the end of it! Have a great trip!!

:welcome: to the thread!

:cool1:

As others have said, we really don't know the impact at this point or how well Disney has planned to prepare for the additional guests.

Lockers:

I'll add a warning/reminder in the locker post that in the event of a pool closing, the lockers are not accessible so plan accordingly.

:welcome: to the thread!

Do you have an upcoming trip to the resort?

:goodvibes

Health Club and Spa:

@DisneyGirlMI or anyone who is there now- can you report back about whether the Spa/Health Club are now open?

:thanks:
The salon opened on 8/4. The spa and fitness center is due to open on the 10th.

I've read on this thread and also googled but I can't find the answer to this question. Do the "quiet" pools at BC and YC have hot tubs as well or are the only hot tubs located at Storm a long Bay?
My husband enjoys the hot tub in the late evening and we found out the hard way at CSR that the hot tub was in the main pool area and closed early.

Yes, you can find a hot tub next to the quiet pool.

Just read a post from this morning. Seems Disney is no longer going to put lotion in the rooms..... might want to pack your own from now on......

https://www.disboards.com/threads/no-more-lotion.3763770/
We’ve been here six days so far and we’ve received lotion once. But the toiletries have been hit or miss. One day we had no shower gel, then we had two shower gels and no shampoo, then one day no conditioner. It’s been weird.

My dad was a groomsman in my mother's cousin's wedding. He wore an ear piece to listen to the ND game (cousin was a ND grad and son of a ND grad who scheduled his own wedding during a game and really should have known better). My dad is also not known for his reserved reactions to sporting events so I'm sure it was quite the sight. At another wedding (same family) my mom was trying to get my dad and her brothers out of the bar where they were watching the ND game by saying the priest was ready to give the blessing. At which point the priest turned around and informed her it would wait until after that set of downs.

Needless to say, I had an off season wedding.

Glad you were able to work out a compromise!

Wait, they don't have the bottles attached to the walls? Darn it. I really dislike those tiny bottles.

Just wait and your wish may come true sooner than many of us want. First they came for our plastic straws, plastic lids, and plastic shopping bags. Now they are coming for our tiny bottles of shampoo, rinse and lotion along with any other small plastic disposable item.

Hmm, makes me wonder about all these MBs that floating around out there. :chat: :magnify:

So many magic bands...

6 days away and I’m nervous! I try to plan down to the finest details, checking every potential opportunity, EMH, painting hour, cabana rental, ordered cheap matchy shirts from Old Navy, my mom was sweet and called to order us all matchy shirts- I assumed they were Mickey or Minnie- but they were all Auburn University shirts (our 2 girls go there) and my Dad and I went there- so now we will be advertising football kickoff and must get family pics decked out in our orange and blue...I guess it’s just getting real and it’s bringing up scary memories from our last failed family trip. Does anyone have any positive vibes/pixie dust/or ideas to blow away these jitters??? I know we will love BC but I think our whole family is a bit apprehensive for things to go well- kind of like driving again after a bad wreck...are there any fun things your family does that is a tradition that makes you smile?? We need more of those to consider!!❤❤❤

I guess our “tradition” is to unpack everything then head out to explore the resort. It doesn’t even matter if we’ve stayed at that resort multiple times. Walking around, looking in the shops (for me :P) getting a snack, smelling the Disney smells, people watching, it’s all fun and relaxing. Also, usually I’ve booked an early dinner somewhere, because we normally arrive around noon - 1ish & are not hungry right away, but will be.
Don’t worry about your last less than magical experience. Leave that memory back on the Interstate, enter under the Welcome sign, with a empty plate, ready to be filled with numerous happy & magical experiences!:tinker:

Hey Dee, officially moved from POR to YC-GV for a brief two-night stay Oct. 27-29 to decompress from an eight-night Eastern Caribbean tour on the Fantasy. It;s nice to be coming home. Planning on significant SAB time as long as the weather cooperates.

We always take either a late night or early morning stroll around the lagoon (oftentimes both) when things are a little quieter just to chill out and restore some calmness to the day after the craziness of the parks. Sometimes it's good to give each other space to breathe and realise you don't have to be together every moment of the trip .too. That way everyone is happy to seee each other when you do spend time together and nerves are less likely to be frayed. Try not to worry too much I'm sure you'll all have a great time :)

Thanks to SWGE AP previews, we are now returning to WDW in just 2 weeks (we were at AKL through July 28). Booked YC August 16 - 18. We just really love it there and it's pretty convenient to DHS.

I literally have no FPs, no ADRs, no plane tickets yet. It's a super quick, last minute trip for sure, but feels like a happy, little bonus.

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the list.

:yoda:

We did the exact same thing! We are at the YC August 16-18, with the AP preview 9-1 on the 17th! I did make 3 FPs at the MK on the 16th and 2 at DHS for after the preview; and an ADR at Skippers Canteen Friday night and LeCellier sat night, and we booked plane fare. We spent more on plane fare than I would have liked, when it came down to it we just couldn’t book Frontier and spent quite a bit more to go United :confused3 . I’m excited, we’re telling the kids this weekend!

Edited for spelling 🙄

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

I just changed my Dec 8th to Dec 11th trip from Contemporary to YC. It was only $100 more so thought it could be worth it to stay close to Epcot and DHS. BC is also coming up. We stayed at BC for one day on a previous trip for free due to a Disney Error in our favor. I got YC water view room. Is this a good move or should I go back to BC garden view room for $40 cheaper? I think it was a good move switching from Contemp though to be closer to EP and DHS.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

I love both resorts- your question about YC WV or BC GV with a savings is a tough one to answer because everyone's priorities are different.

View is not an important factor to me because when I am on a Disney trip, I tend to be very busy with park time. But the full balcony is something I want so it is nice to have the guarantee of a full balcony at the Yacht Club compared to a 50% chance at the Beach Club (all view categories). But I'm a cheapskate. Not sure the lure of the balcony, which I would only be using in early morning hours (could be cold in December), is worth $40 a night to me.

:goodvibes

I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of what groceries are available in the gift shop? We are staying in a 1 bed villa so will have a kitchen. I’m ordering groceries but don’t want to order too much, so was just curious what they had available.

I didn't offer you a

when I replied to your post orginially.

When is your trip?

:dogdance:

We always request a full balcony when staying at the BC and so far are results are just about 50/50. But some of the times it has been too hot to sit on the balcony, so it didn't matter too much. Another time we got a standing balcony was a free upgrade from a standard view to a wonderful water view, corner room, with two great views. :)
