Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Shopping and Merchandise: Savi’s, Droid Depot and More!

Cool .. though since the droids interact with the land, I would guess most guests wouldn't want to ship those to the hotel. How do they keep the lightsabers under control btw? The blades don't retract, right? I know the $25 ones they sell in Tatooine Traders, they would tape closed to "prevent" the kids from opening them up fully and swinging them around. How do they stop kids (and adults) from swinging around $200 sabers in an immersive land?
My droid beeped and booped through out the land, it was the coolest thing. Yeah I would want to keep him with me while walking around.
I can tell you that there is very little policing of lightsabers out. Actually photopass encourages you to take them out for pics especially at night. I'm sure if people get to rowdy with it security might step in

Anyone know how well stocked the merchandise was during previews? Going 5-9 on the last day of AP previews and I'd be super bummed if there wasn't much left by the time I get there

Ok just did a little digging and found the answer:
3. Will Resort delivery and package pick-up be available for droids and lightsabers? Yes, Guests who wish to send their droid or lightsaber to their Disney Resort hotel or to the front of the park will be able to do so.

Thank you!!!

For those who have secured reservations for Droid Depot or Savi's, what is the earliest time you were allowed to schedule your appointment? Has it been earlier than 9AM?

I'm considering a homemade alternative to the droid backpack they sell, although I know that is specifically tailored for the droids. I'm thinking of a mesh backpack so the droid can still pick up the frequencies.

My appointment is at 9:15 and was the earliest they had, although it is on 8/30 when the park opens at 6.

It looks like the rule at Disneyland is that lightsaber owners must keep their blade detached and in its carrying case, although they may hang their hilts on their belts, like real Jedi.

Thanks! I am wondering if there will be opportunity to walk up first thing on those 6AM opening days or if Savi's will simply be closed until the first reservations. Lacing up my running shoes and stretching for a sprint...

I would guess (like Fast Passes) you can't schedule reservations before the park opens to the general public. In other words . .I doubt you can make reservations during the Extra Extra Magic hours of 6-9 am.

This is my assumption as well, but 8/29, 8/30 and 8/31 the regular park hours are 6:00 am opening, right?

I think it will be interesting to see how these EEMH of 6-9 will be for crowd control. You've got to figure that crowds will be pretty darn low at 6-7 am. How many resort guests are going to get up at like 4:00-5:00 am to make it to DHS by 6? There are 3 other parks with EMHs that guests may go to .. there may be some guests who have already done SWGE or aren't interested .

This EEMH may do the trick and spread out the crowds enough (within SWGE) ... that it may not be bad even throughout the day (and thus you will get naysayers showing how SWGE is a "failure" because crowds are low). LOL .. crowds aren't low ..Disney is just doing a great job at crowd control! (which I think is needed for an "immersive" land) .. I've been to Pandora during mid-day where the walkways are wall-to-wall people and doesn't feel very immersive .. same with Toy Story Land (though both lands suffer at having not much walking space in my opinion)

Yes, on 8/29, 8/30 and 8/31 the regular opening time is 6. That said, I didn't see anything for droids earlier than 9:15, although I didn't look too much further because the point of taking 9:15 was so I didn't have to get there before 6. I didn't look for Savi's.

I think they are trying to spread the crowds from 6am to 9am so not everyone head to SR. without a reservation some people might go to droid depot or savi or oga or sr

Love it. I don't mind the early morning, but there is a clear advantage to taking those 9am slots and not having to queue up BEFORE 6... Thanks for the info.

This is my hope... my only hope. (At this point, though I'm still stalking the cancellation thread and refreshing the Savi's page for a reservation in the meantime.) I think it will still be fun to be there early, getting excited with SW fans before opening day. Do you plan to still be there super early yulilin3? Talk about camping out has died down - at least until they give us more information on what they are allowing, right?

Yep still planning on being there early. maybe around midnight

So .. are these more of a toy or more of a decorative prop?

I highly recommend you visit YouTube and use the phrase "savi's workshop lightsaber durability test" to bring some helpful videos involving some actual duels with contact between the sabers and then showing you the dents and dings and such. I'd love to hear your reaction to what you see, since you already own an Ultra.

You must be right.

Has anyone found a workaround yet?
I just attempted to book logged in as my moms MDE- she isn’t going on the October trip but it still didn’t work, I guess because we are connected in MDE so it might think she’s going.

Just an FYI, we were getting the something went wrong message ALL day. I just tried another posters suggestion to create a new account not affiliated with my reservations and I booked Droid Depot in about 5 mins, no problems.

Thanks for looking this up!!

SO do you know how this works, is there a drop off place?

The only thing I know is that Savi, Droid depot and First Order cargo are the only stores from where you can fi package delivery to resort or front of park. If you buy anything else at GE that you want delivered you go with your receipt to First Order Cargo. It'll work just like the regular delivery does

Do you guys think something like this would work as a replacement for the droid backpack?

It's outside dimensions are 14.8x14.6x6.2
