So I just completed my 4th Bank Bonus for this year.

Now the last one was offered by my bank (M&T) where I've had a checking account for 20 years. But there offer was for a new checking account where I have to use the debit card 15x and would get a $100 bonus. I thought it was weird since I already had a checking account with them. But I had a day off from work and decided to go in and just ask.

I was surprised the branch manager said I could do it and signed me up. So I've completed that bonus got the hundred and just this past weekend I got another one from them.

Not sure if this will work again but anyone ever done this? Does it seem they'd let me do this offer again. I mean I wouldn't t mind doing 15 dollar transactions again... :rolleyes1

Off hand I think M&T can only get the bonus once in a 12 month period now. Especially with the same exact offer. Evidently it was a fun ride a couple years ago when they weren't enforcing a restriction and some got quite a few bonuses, but they seem to have wised up since.

I suspect that's why this offer worked for you too - you hadn't received a bonus in the look back period - even though you generally wouldn't be considered a new customer. I guess M&T is weird. Maybe it'll work again?

Oh, no--I'm sorry. These transitions are so tough for kids. I have one having panic attacks (her hands go numb and she completely shuts down) and I hate it. Hopefully going through this today will help with his 1st day.
@Alexle2007 - if he agreed to go back and is there now, it will probably be fine. The fact that he went back is a good sign.

I know quite a bit about panic attacks in a teen. She's 27 now and back then I didn't understand it but we eventually got through it. It's not easy and hits you in the face when you are not even expecting it and trying to do all the right things for them, and can occur even when the activity is their idea. Stay patient so he can trust you to understand.
I don't have any specific advice to give other than you will both get through this. My oldest DD has some anxiety in new situations and I think the fact that he went back and he's staying are good signs. Is this week specifically for new students? My DD's school does that and I think it really helps on the first day, they're not walking into a totally new situation. Hugs that he comes home talking about all the new people he met today and that this makes the first day much smoother.

@Judique has some really good advice.
Thanks, everyone he survived his 2 hrs and 15 min. This was a summer camp called Middle School Success. I am hoping they can improve his organizational skills since they were supposed to be working on that this week. His only complaint was that it was only girls in the class. It turns out his 8th grade ELA teacher is one of the instructors so hopefully that will help him feel more comfortable when he goes on 8/23 for his first day of school. Hopefully tomorrow goes smoother but it is DH's turn to drop him off. (and, of course, he will not act like that for DH.)

That should be the same mailer that's being discussed in that comment. The offer itself seems reasonable, I think it's the same one on the site right now, but what was great about the mailer was it didn't include the bonus restriction language. Does it say anything in the fine print on the mailer about "American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have received a new account bonus for a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® account in the past 48 months." or something similar? Apparently that's what's popping up on the application page when you go to apply using the 9 digit code from the mailer.
The only restriction I see is it stating...if you are an existing Citi AAdvantage cardmember you are not eligible for this offer on your existing account

OMG, I just need to vent! DS12 had a severe panic attack when I tried to drop him off at summer camp this morning at his new private school. He was fine getting ready, the drive there and then when we got there he broke down and refused to get out of the car. After many, many minutes he got out and we walked in (late, of course) and then he refused to go into the room and ran out of the building. Completely frustrated, I start driving us home and we are 10 min into the drive and he says I am ready to give it a try. This time we use a different set of steps and the admissions asst opens the door and she walked him to camp. At that point, he was 45 min late and camp lets out at noon. If this is a snapshot into the Aug 23rd drop-off for the start of the school year, I better have a couple of glasses of wine before we get out of the door because I was beyond frustrated. Now to research strategies for dealing with panic attacks...
My oldest son had a lot of anxiety issues when he went through puberty, It was pretty serious for a couple of years...panic attacks galore. If it’s any consolation he grew out of it. At 16 he’s pretty relaxed about everything.

My CIP is here! A few questions:

1 - When I called to confirm receipt of the card it didn't work. The automated system transferred me to the fraud department (!) who asked me a ton of verification questions before activating the card. Is that normal??

2 - I know the business cards don't show up on your regular online account. How do I set up an account to be able to access the CIP information online?

3 - Does Chase care what type of spend I put on the card, especially relating to the MSR purchases?

no one has any personal AA mailers? I’ll pay $30 for one.

I'll let you know if I get any. They used to come every other day and then - poof - none for several months. I just figured it was because I didn't use them. I wasn't under 5/24 then so I just ripped them up. Now if I could get some biz mailers.....

1..I didn’t have to call, but I had an old SW business card

2..my business cards are on a separate login from my personal....

3..No...you can pretty much justify anything as a business expense....but they have never asked me

I received my Hilton SUB for my Surpass! I was a little nervous since I closed by Hilton biz right after opening this account (after I self-referred no less). I'm up to almost 300k Hilton points. Not sure how I'll be using them, was hoping for the Hilton Hawaiian, but if the Citi biz mailers stop working I'm not sure how we'll get there, or at least it might take a little longer. I'm very bummed if the mailers do stop working, of course DH just got one last week that I was planning on using in Sept. It will be interesting to see how it all turns out. I'm trying to keep hope alive that they may still work. I did go to the site and it does include the 48 month language. :headache: Oh, and also my Citi stmt closed from Citi card #2 but my 2nd mortgage payment via Plastiq hadn't posted yet so I have to wait another month to see if I receive the SUB so I'll be in suspense another month.

That's all I recall from the last mailer we got here (many moons ago), so it seems like there's no indication on the paper, it only pops up when you go to apply. Sneaky. (Or cheap - didn't take the time to update the form letter before sending the latest offer through the printers)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You just made my week!

The bride isn't stressing, but the mom certainly is and the mom is also travel planner so double stress right now.

One more spot -- the area around the Warming Hut cafe is another favorite of ours and is on the way to Fort Point. The Warming Hut sells drinks, lite bites, and souvenirs (closes at 5). But really, it’s right next to some grassy knolls with sweeping views of the Bay, from the Golden Gate Bridge to the City skyline, as well as Torpedo Wharf, basically an old pier that you can walk out to for a different view of the bridge.
