Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Shopping and Merchandise: Savi’s, Droid Depot and More!

I have seen that the lightsaber is between 34-36 inches long, but I am not sure what it would be if I detached the hilt? I have contacted Westjet to ensure they will let it on the plane, but they want the dimensions. I want to ensure I am giving them accurate information. Worst thing would be that we come through with two lightsabers that they won't allow on the plane!

I just measured my light saber. It's 43 inches long, but split up it's 12 inches and 34 inches.

I posted about my flying experience in another thread last week. Here it is:

Side note, I was super stressed out about how I was going to fly home with my light saber. I planned to have my friend drive back to MCO if I wasn't allowed through with it (read some reddit entries where people had issues). I only had my backpack and a duffle bag (no where near large enough to fit the saber blade (detached)). I checked my duffle bag and planned on using my backpack and saber bag as my two carry ons. When I went through security (TSA precheck), I asked the agent if he wanted me to remove the lightsaber handle (heavy metal and plastic). He said "no, you should be fine." I walked through security with no questions asked. When I boarded my flight (Southwest), I held the light saber bag against the front of my seat with my calves (super light weight) and no one noticed it/asked me to move it to the bins.

We have a 5-9 pm slot Sunday night. I'd like to get the spira card. What are the odds it will still be available by the 5pm slot?

Thanks!

Better than for me for the 21st ;). Of course, I’m not sure they will be available for the AP Previews. We’ll have to hope Saturday’s preview folks will report back!

@MomOTwins At Disneyland more people could enter the land with your reservation. I would think it would be similar at WDW.

From Disneyland's Savi page.....

Checking In
Guests should check in no earlier than 15 minutes prior to their reservation time at the check-in location in front of Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers. Each person in your party must be present upon check-in and admission to Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers. Late arrivals may not be accommodated.
If the virtual queuing system is being used, Guests with reservations for Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers may enter the land up to one hour prior to their reservation time at the Fantasyland entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
If the party size is larger than the reserved party of 3 for the experience area, and if boarding groups are required to enter the land, up to a total of 6 Guests may enter the land in connection with the reservation. The experience area is still limited to the builder and 2 Guests.
Please be prepared to present your reservation confirmation, photo ID and the credit card provided at the time of booking.

That makes much more sense! Thanks.

I hope to purchase a Batuuan Spira when I enter Batuu and use it to pay for our Droid, Lightsaber and Oga’s drinks. Does anyone know if I can purchase the Spira and load credits onto it from another Disney gift card?
You must use a credit card or cash to buy it at first, but it has a serial number and pin just like other cards, so you can reload it and transfer from other cards online, too. I just did that last night!

I have tried searching this thread but can't find the answer. I have been trying to book a reservation online for Savi's mid-December. I keep getting the error message "Something went wrong. Please try again. I tried calling and was told it can only be done online. If there is a better phone number please let me know.

You can only do it online. Have you tried making another MDE account and booking one that way.

Try incognito mode as well. Sometimes the Disney site can be weird with caching issues.

Are there any pins, cups/mugs, or ball caps that are specific to Walt Disney World’s SWGE and not both DL and WDW SWGE? Particularly any that will be available at the AP preview?

I don't think there's anything specific to wdw other than maybe some pins. They do have special cm only merchandise that says wdw

Yes delivery to front of park or resort will be available

I've been looking for this information for days and am so glad I came across it! I started thinking about how I was going to need to carry around a lightsaber inconveniently for hours and this will make that a non-issue. Thank you!

Yeah there are specific pins. Other than that I don't think too much is different.

What is the best time of day to make a droid depot reservation? Do they have more stock in the morning and it wanes as the day goes on? I am considering going to the droid depot before MFSR, but I would also like to try to beat the line at rope drop :)

I guess there's a chance that they run out of certain things as the day goes on but I haven't seen any indication that they are slow to restock as the daily supply gets low. They HAVE had a problem with not having enough stock for the long term, however. Hopefully that isn't as much an issue for WDW as it's been for DL.

If you see something you really like, do not wait to buy it. Even during the CM previews they have had some issues with with stock. For example for the droid depot they have been running out of the clear domes for the R unit. Also for the day of my preview I wanted this month but it wasn't there, my son went yesterday and found it for me.

just when I picked out a clear dome for later reference. I'll have a backup dome in mind then.

I need that mug too.
