Well, on our way up Main Street, I felt someone grabbing my backpack up and off of my back. I turned around and this woman was still holding my bag saying how she loves it. And I get it, it was villain themed and it was the night of Villains after hours but there are ways to tell someone you love something they have or are wearing. Grabbing them is not one of them. (I was complimented by a very lovely woman the next night about my outfit who from about ten feet away was able to convey the same message, without touching me!)

OMG! Personal space! Seriously!!! I may have lost my sh-- if someone did that to me. I totally understand why you were upset.

I always cry when I hear it and see it in person!

We made the quick walk back to the Contemporary after the party (this was so awesome to be able to just make a ten-minute walk back!)

You handled the crazy bag lady way better than I would have! Living in Europe, pickpocketers are everywhere and habit would have overruled manners in that situation. It seems like vloggers are getting a lot more preferential treatment than they used to. It's deterred me from going to first nights of parties, because they have kind of become dedicated to media personnel.

I have heard of Poshmark but never considered looking for accessories. I will have to check it out!

It's super fun! It's basically a secondhand selling site for clothes and accessories! Hopefully you'll be able to find some good stuff!

OMG- I know exactly what you mean about the youtubers. I haven’t been to any special events that a lot of them were at but I can’t imagine how frustrating it would be. They always say they will give you their real opinion but if they did, would they be invited back very often? That’s why I trust the smaller bloggers/vloggers opinion a bit more.

I mean between the very obviously swayed opinions and then the VIP treatment I just don't get how that can be a fair portrayal of what a Disney event is! I never had either until the first MNSSHP and they basically had reserved viewing for everything. Plus, at the Cruella party which they got into for free, they all barreled in front of me to meet Cruella and then were like on top of my meet and greet. It was very annoying!

Wowww I would have flipped out on that lady that grabbed your bag! Some people have no sense of personal space/manners. I try not to let other people affect my mood but it’s hard cause I’m easily annoyed!

The waits are pretty low! I’m impressed. I was pretty disappointed with the wait times when we did AH earlier this year.

It was a very low crowd night! I think maybe since it wasn't the first one and it was the more expensive party less people were inclined to go!

YES. I couldn't agree more. This is the exact reason I'm starting to step away from YouTubers I used to really enjoy watching. Disney's "media team" treatment is going to ruin people who were once considered reliable sources of info for the parks.

Right??? Dan and I used to LOVE watching some youtubers and now all they seem to do for content is things that they are invited to. Every once and a while is fine but we really prefer just seeing people being in Disney and being a normal day guest otherwise it gives false expectations!

It was honestly so strange! And then for them to talk about me as I walked away was the kicker! Like did I ask to be touched by a stranger? Absolutely not!

Overall, this sounds like such an amazing event! I love M&Gs, but for VAH, I kind of like that there are no M&Gs, too-- it really allows you to focus on the rides and entertainment!

Yeah it was definitely a nice change to not worry about trying to meet a specific character! I mean I'm sure they could have sold out a lot more nights if they had but I really enjoyed it!

That's exactly what's happening! Like I said, I'm fine with Disney comping tickets/food/things or even when they get invited to previews that are separate from the parks like for Food and wine I don't mind but when they get sectioned off areas that take away spots from actual paying guests that's when I get annoyed. I believe they all got fastpasses the first VAH too so paying guests had to wait longer to get on rids while the media got to go on all the rides super quick. Like thats not going to accurately portray the night nor does it allow the people who actually paid to be there to have a good time. It's really a shame and honestly has caused Dan and I to find new youtubers to watch!

Just a sidenote – while I enjoy watching Disney vloggers and all that they put into it (they deserve to get something for what they do) I do feel like Disney is promoting false advertising by inviting them all to events but then giving them special treatment, viewing areas, fastpass lines to rides. Not only does it hinder the event for those who paid to be there and aren’t getting special treatment, but it also just doesn’t portray what the night is actually like. They could easily comp their tickets and give them giftcards to try food without creating this unrealistic VIP experience for them. Most of the events and things that Disney puts on can speak for themselves, and if they don’t, well then people deserve to know what it would really be like if they are paying $150 to go. Like I said, I love watching Disney vlogs and you know when they get invited they all will be swayed somewhat but I just don’t get the whole VIP thing when that’s not actually how the night would be for a normal person. Okay, I’m off my soapbox! Lol

Agreed 100%. It's also frustrating to "regular" people who paid for say, the first day of Villains After Hours and then stand in line watching media go through fastpass lines. Plus, I feel like a lot of vloggers become less honest once Disney starts inviting them to things because they don't have to honestly weigh the value of events!

We stopped to get some pictures with the awesome Villains pamphlets that they put out for the event. They were way nicer than the normal park ones, almost a thin cardboard? They were definitely cool!

Finally have a chance to join in! I was away at my cottage in PEI for three weeks but am home now and looking forward to catching up!

I mean, I was too, but I’m always at a soft hum of “I wish I was in Disney right now” so that was nothing new for me lol so I began to fantasize about squeezing in a weekend trip to Disney.

I am always in that mode too!

3:45AM rolled around and we were both up and ready to conquer the day! When I was little I LOVED early morning flights, there was something so magical about getting up in the middle of the night to travel to Disney World. And I still kind of feel the same way!

I will say though, even with the chatty girl, this was by far our best travel day yet. Everything went super smooth and the whole magical express experience was, well, magical! I still feel like for some trips we will still rent a car (depending on our plans and how many ubers may be necessary) but for this trip it worked out really well! Especially when you have absolutely no wait and the bus leaves as soon as you sit down!

Perfection!

While I LOVED staying Club Level, the whole checking in process/interaction felt a bit weird. Could have totally been me just being tired but I guess I was expecting someone super friendly and he just felt a bit cold (especially when he didn't remember us from a few minutes prior). After a brief tour of the club, we were left on our own and it was finally time to start our vacation! ​

Not the magical way you expect to start thing off!

I think my very favorite part of the Atrium Club Level has to be the view. Granted, you can get the same view from California Grill but that’s if you are one of the lucky ones who gets a table near the window lol which we never are!

So nice!

Dan and I both ordered the Croque Monsieur with fries. To drink I chose the Peach Bellini and Dan chose the Kronenbourg 1664. Had we not been on the dining plan, I would have just gone with a soft drink but since alcohol was included with the meal plan I was happy to get the bellini! Which was very tasty!

With our fastpass we only waited about five-ten minutes to meet them. When it was our turn, we had the best meet and greet ever! I’ve heard others talked about how awesome this experience is and you really just need to experience it for yourself! It started with them complimenting my ears and such but then when Minnie spotted my ring it turned into a whole thing of why Mickey hasn’t proposed to Minnie and it was just so much fun! Even DH was sold on the whole experience and we walked out of the meet feeling the Disney magic. It was the perfect thing to do on our first day and I’m so glad I got a fastpass for it!

After some resting and watching dumb TV (our show of choice on vacation is Naked and Afraid haha) we made our way down to the club to see what they had out for dinner. They had lots of yummy options out!

So many choices!

Between the chocolates already in our room and the second surprise we were both feeling very welcomed!! I’m not sure why we received them but we were so appreciative!

Now at the same time, Dan’s ahead of me not really paying too much attention because he’s doing the time lapse. I slowed a bit to politely smile at this woman and tell her the name of the brand and where I got it from while she was STILL fondling my bag. I eventually said thanks and tried to keep walking to catch up to him. At that time, she found more of her friends to show my bag. I continued walking because I just had a REALLY weird vibe about the whole thing and still annoyed that she actually grabbed my bag that I kept walking only to hear them bashing me for being “rude” as I walked away. I’m a pretty friendly person and for the situation I offered up multiple friendly gestures before walking away and just didn’t appreciate her grabbing my bag from behind without warning me she was going to do so. Now I’m sure she was just being overly friendly and didn’t really understand personal space and was probably just excited to see Evil Queen merch but once we were away I noticed that the front pocket of my bag was unzipped and it hadn’t been before so who knows what her intentions were. Either way I didn’t enjoy it! And I love talking to people about what I’m wearing or my accessories!

Oh my! That situation just gets worse!

Once we got off of the people mover it was nearing Happily Ever After time. In planning, I had hoped we would find a spot to watch HEA from Main Street but Dan doesn’t love waiting for fireworks or parades so instead we decided to just get some ice cream from The Plaza Parlor and see where we could find a spot then!

Perfect idea!

It was a perfect HEA experience and I definitely cried! As much as I wasn’t a fan in the beginning of HEA I definitely love it now! I always cry when I hear it and see it in person!

After Pirates of the Caribbean, we made our way towards Splash Mountain next. But lucky for us, our timing was IMPECCABLE and literally as we were walking up the Malificent’s dragon “parade” was beginning and we were able to see it coming out. We walked right up and had a great spot. I had completely forgotten about the dragon so I was happy that we were able to see it when we did! Dan was very impressed with the little parade and so was I. I’m not a big parade person (except for the Christmas parade) but the dragon is my favorite part of Festival of Fantasy so it was cool to see at night!

It was also our first experience with the new ride photo!

You did well...we couldn't remember where it was and our photos are so funny/weird, lol!

But we did spot a special photo op by the castle with the dragon so we did stop to take a photo!

Seven Dwarfs was quoted at a 30 or 40 minute wait but we only waited 15 minutes and was so fun! I definitely prefer SDMT at night!

This was a great ride to end the night on (even if the ride in the dark made Dan a bit motion sick – but I’m blaming that on exhaustion more than the ride!) and we just had so much fun!

You certainly had a full day!

As we were walking out of Tomorrowland we ran into @amazingact21 and her family!! They decided last minute to do the AHs party and I am so happy we ran into them! DH was completely taken off guard that someone in the real world again knew who I was but was happy that we were all able to meet. I totally realized after we walked away that I never properly introduced Dan because I feel like you all probably feel like you already know him! Haha It was so nice to meet you and your family in person, Alicia! And I’m so glad you called my name! (I would have noticed you eventually because I was filming us walking out when we ran into you haha) it was a perfect way to end our night!

After our DISmeet, DH and I stopped for a picture with the castle. I totally regret not stopping for more but I knew DH was pretty much at his limit and the one stop was all I was going to get! Lol

Exactly!! I don't mind like full on media events or media days because obviously that's necessary but it doesn't make sense to me to throw them into the mix with paying guests and then hinder said paying guests experiece! It just baffles me.

Honestly, if I had been anywhere other than Disney I don't think I would have been as friendly as I was. I just couldn't believe that the woman's first instinct was to grab my bag. I am finally back to the boards after our trip! Sorry we couldn't meet up. Hopefully there will be another time.

Even though we were just sitting on our balcony, this dinner was one of my favorites. It was so relaxing and you definitely can’t beat that view of Bay Lake! I know the Theme Park View is technically more money but I think the Bay Lake View is definitely my preferred view, too much parking lot and concrete the other direction!

I am glad to see you eating on your balcony. (spoiler alert, we got upgraded to CL the second half of our trip, and we ate in our room most of the time and I wasn't sure if that was a no no or not.)

Love it. We did not get any goodies like that!

And good thing too because I actually just ordered it online this week and it was nearly half off!

I saw the pic of ALL the bags you ordered! Was it a special sale? I would love another bag, but they are pricey.

Yeah no! Especially from behind, you can't even see the person. I think you were fine. I probably would have whipped aroundand not have been quiet as nice. But that is from living in NYC for a few years.

After Splash, we decided to dry ourselves off by riding Big Thunder Mountain. The quoted wait time was 15-minutes but it was literally a walk on (I took a picture at the entrance at 11:10 and we were walking down the ramp at 11:11 lol) so that was a nice change of pace from the 20 minute wait we had at MVMCP!

Awsome! And this is exactly why I snap photos going into the rides, to see how long we actually end up waiting.

Anyone else wish there was a ride photo for BTMRR?? I feel like they would be such great pictures!

YES!!! And I don't know why they haven't. There is def places that they can. Maybe they will with the refurb that is coming.

I know haha we were SO surprised when they gave us more chocolate! GF didn't give us anything so between the two CR CL definitely had the leg up on making us feel welcome!

I 100% agree with this. I did notice a lot of differences between what "normal" folks were experienceing vs. the VIP Previews. And Like you, realy got a bad taste in my mouth. Just doesn't seem right or upfront.

Well, on our way up Main Street, I felt someone grabbing my backpack up and off of my back. I turned around and this woman was still holding my bag saying how she loves it. And I get it, it was villain themed and it was the night of Villains after hours but there are ways to tell someone you love something they have or are wearing.

Holy Crap!!! Just NOT. OKAY. And totally smells fishy to the max to me. This is a VERY old theft technique and you were right to be on your guard!

Anyway, I brushed the whole thing off pretty quickly but was just a weird way to start our night!

I'd probably have reported it. Touching someone's purse intentionally like that is never okay under any circumstance.

From what I could tell, a couple walked up and stood in front of a family and got kicked out of the area because they were blocking the walkway and then proceeded to immediately come back with the girl on the guys shoulders to block the family’s view even more. For not a super great viewing spot, I was surprised to see that happening but we were away from it so it didn’t bother us!

I am finally back to the boards after our trip! Sorry we couldn't meet up. Hopefully there will be another time.

Hopefully!! I honestly can't believe how dead to the world we were that night!!

I am glad to see you eating on your balcony. (spoiler alert, we got upgraded to CL the second half of our trip, and we ate in our room most of the time and I wasn't sure if that was a no no or not.)

I wasn't sure either but I'm definitely more of an ask for forgiveness kind of person! lol and it didn't seem to be an issue! That's aweosme that you got upgraded! We loved the Chronos Club, did you guys??

Spoiler alert - Grand Floridian CL gave us nothing lol I think some resorts are better on the customer service than others!

I saw the pic of ALL the bags you ordered! Was it a special sale? I would love another bag, but they are pricey.

Three of the four were on sale for the end of season sale! And then I had a 20% off coupon so to me it was a no brainer! DH doesn't entirely agree though lol

Yeah no! Especially from behind, you can't even see the person. I think you were fine. I probably would have whipped aroundand not have been quiet as nice. But that is from living in NYC for a few years.

Day 2 Part 1 Friday June 14th

The downside to extending our trip was that I was going to have to work from Disney that Friday but I can’t think of a better place to work from, can you!? I thought I might be exhausted after being up until 2 the night (or morning) before and then up again at 8:30 but something about being in Disney made me feel just fine! (Maybe I’m just used to no sleep in Disney! LOL)



DH on the other hand was feeling the tiredness lol



But lucky for him, he could sleep and relax while I worked!

Expecting Disney’s wifi to be trash, DH added a hotspot to his phone plan ahead of the trip and that worked perfectly for what I needed!

Once we both got ready for the day we made our way down to the lounge to grab some breakfast. If I was going to be stuck in my room, I was at least going to have some yummy breakfast!



The breakfast options were right up our alley!



And definitely lessened the sting of working from Disney haha and tbh, we needed a chill morning/afternoon after our long travel day the day prior so it was nice to be forced to take a minute and relax! Plus, when you are paying more for a room it’s nice to actually enjoy the resorts amenities!

I would go from working in the room to working out on the balcony enjoying the view. It was probably one of my favorite days of work ever! Haha

I mean, its definitely the best view I've ever had whilst working!




Around lunchtime, we decided to make our way down to Contempo Café to find something for lunch. Dan asked me if there were any other options to eat at and for some reason I was only think Magic Kingdom quick services and then things on the monorail line. Since I get an hour lunch we had some time but not THAT much time so I figured this would be a good time to explore the resort, check out the shops and just eat at Contempo Café. What I wish we had done was taken the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge and had lunch at Geyser Point! You live and learn right??








For lunch from Contempo Café, we both ordered the Grilled Cheese and tomato soup. It was just okay but was very greasy.



We definitely could have split one or you know, been smart and gone to Geyser Point! Lol I certainly won’t be rushing back to Contempo Café anytime soon but it did the job of feeding us lunch!

After we finished lunch, we explored the shops and then decided to go walk around outside and take some pictures. I knew I wanted to recreate my parents old photo that they took on their honeymoon 30 years ago in 1989.

I had wanted to recreate this on our July trip last year but a storm rolled in and there hadn't been anyone around to take one of us. Big win for having a camera this time! lol

And then we wandered out towards the beach to take some pictures with the whole building.




I loved taking pictures of CR from this angle!



We even played a game of checkers before heading back in. (Well two, if you count the first one where we played completely wrong! lol)

While being one of my favorite days of work ever it was also one of my favorite lunches while working ever! haha

On our way back up we stopped in the lounge to get a couple of beers for Dan to enjoy while I worked. I think he was excited to actually get to enjoy some free beers! Lol



The one thing we noticed with both the Contemporary and Grand Floridian lounges was that neither had any unique beers. When we were given CL access at the Wilderness Lodge, they had at least two if not three unique Northwestern beers. Dan will often get them at home now to give him that Disney feel. But CR and GF just had normal beers (bud light and Summer Shandys I think?). Have they done away with unique, themed beers in the lounges or is that dependent on the person who runs the CL? It’s not a deal breaker for us but Dan was looking forward to trying new beers or having ones that could remind him of this trip!

When mousekeeping came by to clean the room I brought my laptop down to the lounge. As long as Dan’s phone was near me I could work from anywhere! Around this time of day though, the exhaustion of the day before was hitting me. And I did something I never ever do, drank a coffee! Lol I knew the caffeine in a diet coke wouldn’t be enough and the coffee sure did the trick! Plus, I wanted to use the Mickey-shaped sugar cubes! Lol

While I was working, I also was checking for Slinky Dog fastpasses. Multitasking at its finest folks! lol I hadn’t been able to snag one from 60 days out or even just my random checks leading up to this trip but I was hoping with either FP refresh or same day drops I could find something! And wouldn’t you know I managed to snag one for 4:30-5:30! Which lined up perfectly with the Rock n Rollercoaster FP we had at 5:35! I was so happy!! I was a bit worried on timing with work but I was hopeful we would make it on time.

Work wasn’t too crazy and before I knew it they were letting us log off at 4PM which was awesome! And would definitely give us plenty of time to make it to Hollywood Studios!

I quickly changed and we were out the door!



Well not so fast, we did have time to get evidence of my Mickey themed outfit! haha




I called for an uber and we made our way downstairs to meet up. I did check the bus times to get to DHS but the app was showing no times available for DHS so we decided to not bother! Especially since we had to wait all of three minutes for an uber!



We made it! And I finally got to see the new banners! I have a knack for being a day short for most new changes in Disney Parks and they had changed over to the new parking lot names and the new signs the day after we visited in March so I was excited to see them!



(super bummed this isn't opening until 2020! Hoping it will at least be open for our March trip!)

Once we were into Hollywood Studios I realized that we never took pictures with our new APs! And since that was where I got my first one in March 2018 it only seemed right to memorialize them here!



Sidenote - My Mom was apparently upset when she saw that Dan had also become an annual passholder because to her that meant she wouldn't get to go to Disney as often. But no worries - she and Calista are joining Dan and I for the weekend on our September trip (only 6 days away!!) and we have a girls trip planned for next May so she's doing just fine lol

We also obviously also had to stop for a photopass!




The CM asked us if we were celebrating anything and we told her we were celebrating becoming annual passholders!



She was a super awesome CM and gave us celebrating buttons for getting our APs. Definitely nice of her to take the time to do that!



It didn’t seem like a very busy night in Hollywood Studios which was nice to experience.



And was looking like we were going to have a great night in DHS! ​
