When you leave the ballroom scene and make the turn into the attic, look quickly to your left side and you'll see what looks like a sort of garage door in the wall. The door must roll up to reveal storage behind. And a lot of things are simply stored in the attic throughout the year because it looks thematically normal to have lots of stuff back against the walls in an old attic. We had the good fortune to meet Brian Sandahl (Imagineer whose team designed HMH and the pumpkins over the front gates at DL) one year at MHP (never know who you'll meet in the crowd for "Halloween Screams"!) and he told us all kinds of things about the Mansion. Halloweentime starts today at Disneyland!!!My costume was shipped yesterday, and arrives next week!Oogie boogie bash in a little under 3 weeks!I can’t contain my excitement lol. I’ve already watched Hocus Pocus 2 times this week. Might watch again tonight after work

Haunted mansion fans! Check your local target for Haunted mansion merchandise. I saw a blogger post about merchandise so I of course immediately went to target lol. They have backpacks, t shirts, bowls, and funko pops.

The backpack is $29. I know the picture isn’t great but it is a dark brown, with blue wall paper print. This is at the Culver City target behind the electronics check out (not sure why it’s there or why it’s not on display). I didn’t take a picture of the other items. The guy looked annoyed that I was taking a picture of the backpack so I didn’t want to push it lol

I was hoping to grab a FP for HMH too late this afternoon but I'm not sure if that's gonna happen. May have to go against my own rule and wait more than 30 min to get on. I really just want to get on that and see Halloween Scream fireworks.

At rope drop or via fastpass. Today the line didn’t look bad. But in previous high crowd days, that line would post 60-90 regularly. And fastpasses would run out by midday, sometimes faster than RSR. Even at the Halloween party it was still 35-40 minutes

So if getting a fastpass for it, treat it like RSR where you prioritize earlier return times and make HMH the first longer wait? Also, is Monsters After Dark similar in that it runs out quickly?

What kind of "treats" are offered during the halloween party trick or treating? Anything unique to Disneyland, or just the same bite sized candy and chocolates you can get anywhere at halloween?

Apologies if I just overlooked this earlier - but did you all see the Haunted Mansion 50th Anniversary Tea being offered at DLH?? There appear to be no reservations available online - not sure it is has been around a while and is completely booked or if the reservation system isn't up and running. Anyone out there already look into this? I'm on hold now.

Getting reservations online was toughhhhh this year. I'm excited for it though; I've done the tea the last 2 years and it was very enjoyable.
