Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Shopping and Merchandise: Savi’s, Droid Depot and More!

Probably a really stupid question. But I saw a video of the experience at Savi's (which inspired me to want to get one). Is there a chance you may not get one of the color crystal's you want? It looked like as they were going around letting people pick, if everyone else picks a certain color you may not get it? Is that right?

If you see the canister it has several sides, each side has all the colors so there's plenty for everyone of the same color

It actually does cover this on the website but you do have to put the 2 and 2 together

First, at the top, it states
Each lightsaber builder may have one guest, but please do not include the guest in the number of participants—only include the number of actual builders.

Then when you go to look for a reservation is has
Select the Number of Participants
Please see the Terms and Conditions for information about age requirements. When making your selection, do not include Guests who will be accompanying the participants.

Click on "Terms and Conditions" and is shows Age recommendation to participate in this program is 5 years and older"

The age requirements is related to Participants, not guests. And it's a recommendation, not requirement. So different than say, BBB, which is required 3-11

Does that mean every CM working will grasp the connection? Does that mean that every single parent should bring their too young child?
No

But I in no way agree that Disney will refuse a single parent the ability to participate in the activity (aka take their money). It's going to be up to the parent to know if it's a valid activity for their child to accompany them on.

As I said, the confirmation email says "Guests must be 5 years old to participate." Must is a requirement, not a recommendation.

You can still add money. The medallion links to disneygiftcard.com and you can add funds there or at a register.

Disney apparently doesn’t want to sell more as they were part of the grand opening celebration. I think we were lucky as they restocked DL SWGE for all the D23 members.

I was really glad that I got mine when I went out for D23 Expo. Managed to snag a droid backpack on my last day too. I won't be going to SWGE until we go back to WDW next Summer. Too bad I couldn't get a Loth cat or Porg at the creature stall though :(

Not a stupid question at all. My sister and I wondered about that initially. I've seen a ton of videos since, and I've seen some times when the Gatherer with the crystal canister will ask something like, "Do you see your color?" and if you don't, they'll bring out another canister with all the colors to choose from.

There are way more crystals in the first canisters than there are builders (I want to say 12 crystals for 7 people/half the room), so it generally doesn't seem to be an issue. But if my color was not in the canister when it reached me and they didn't ask me if I "saw my color," I would nicely ask if they had the color I wanted. I think they want everyone to end up with their desired color.

Typical of them to have conflicting info anymore
Still, a participant is not a guest. 5 to participate. Not 5 to be a guest.

Droid Depot was taking walk ups this morning around 11am. My BiL decided last minute to build a droid, the walk up line was about a 15 min wait while people with reservations were allowed to go in almost instantly
My BiL, 10 year old nephew and 7 year old niece went in together, the CM said that 1 adult with 2 kids was fine

So I have had a res of Oga's at 9:50am. I was able to score a res for Savi's at 1025. We probably were only planning on having one drink anyway there (i've already been once to Oga's). Do you think i'm cutting it too close? I am going to see if anything opens up earlier for Oga's, but if not, may try to check in early?

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but if I need to modify the number of participants for Savi's, how do I do that? I have a reservation for my 3 children, but have decided that my youngest will not build one now. Thanks!

Okay I'm going to Galaxy Edge. I have a new AP. I understand that I can't get a discount for Droid building or Savi. Is everything else taking a AP discount In Galaxy edge? Sorry this seems like a silly question.
You cannot get the discount on a legacy lightsaber either, but you can on the blade.

You can't. I was advised to just show up for your reservation and before paying tell them you only have 2 builders instead of 3.

FYI, we didn’t book a reservation for Savi’s and showed up after rope drop this morning. The cast member made it seem like you still need a reservation. And when we went to check in, they acted like they had to check to see if they had any spots open. And then let us in with 2 builders. Then told us it would be a 20 minute wait. I then asked the girl at the register if there is any way to reserve for extra magic hours. She said no it’s only walk ins.

We waited 20 minutes and we ended up being the first and only group in the show... so they are overselling the availability just FYI. They are probably limiting reservations online and allowing walkins during regular hours to drive up demand

Actually, the stalling was because ‘Kenme’ was scheduled to be ready and onstage at the time of your show, not before. The CMs won’t explain it but will word it that way so that it’s up to the guest to decide if they want to sit and wait.

Even WITH a reservation, I waited about 15 mins or so before starting, and after experiencing the Savi's event, it is going to take time to get set up for the next round of builders, kyber crystals and lightsaber restocked for each stand etc...They cannot "oversell" as there are only so many build stations, so if they have 14 then they will sell 14 spots ect.....plus add to that the length of the experience, ~20 mins (mine went 28 mins) that is very limited capacity. EMH are and added bonus and I am positive that is a first come first serve.
These speculations are silly thinking, just go with it, have fun, enjoy this special experience!

There are PLENTY to choose from, in my group there were 3 gatherers with canisters and krystals, if your gatherer is out of say red, then one of the other 2 will walk by and let you select from it. There are more krystals available then needed, so no worry on that, have fun!

Thanks! It seems from the videos violet seems to be one of the more popular ones. Was leaning toward that, or may go full sith and choose red.

After looking at the video my wife took during the build, it was a def tie between the red and violet! Funny in that going in, I was positive it was going to be blue no questions.......................BUT after feeling the moment and taking in the experience I ended up choosing violet, go figure........have fun!

I figured Blue/Green would be most popular so people could be like Luke, yoda, etc.

Guess we all have a dark side in us LOL (yes I know violet isn't, just referring to red)

I meant overselling it by not allowing any more reservations online or by phone. But I’m still seeing people get walk ups even during peak time. Hence driving up demand

I see! 😊

Disney uses set ratios for everything. For 9 reservations for a specific Savi show, the other builder slots are for walk-ups. It’s to give walk-ups a chance versus the hoarders who booked up the reservations just because they were available and then Cancel them at will.
