Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Attractions Planning

Agreed. When I was the engineer, I knew I needed to push the buttons when they lit up, but I really didn't know why I was pushing the buttons or what purpose it served. And since I was worried about hitting my buttons, I didn't watch the screen enough to see what was going on. It kind of took away from my enjoyment of the ride. It makes it more interactive than Star Tours though, so I enjoy it a lot more.

To chime in about motion sickness, I won't hardly go on Star Tours anymore, I end up feeling too sick from it. I didn't have an issue with Smugglers Run, but I also probably wouldn't ride it more than once in a row. To me, the real joy of the ride is actually waiting inside the Falcon and seeing the inside. I'd kind of l like to just get in line to look around and not participate in the ride.

All of this is exactly how I felt! I had to keep looking at the wall for the buttons instead of watching the screen for the actual ride, which was frustrating, especially without knowing what those buttons were actually achieving. I did still enjoy the ride a lot and I was relieved at the fact that it didn't make me feel ill at all like Star Tours does.

Yes, there are two attractions for the land, with one open now.

I have not yet experienced the Falcon but I hear it can be different depending on how well people in the crew do their jobs. I am sure many people will chime in with more info for you in that regard. :)

I think two rides is about all Disney will spring for in new lands. Haven't been. but I hear the one that's open is awesome.

Thanks. I'm surprised as all this hype for only one ride (now) and another coming. Hmmm.

Is Hollywood Studios still worth it and a 1 day park? We'll only have 2.4 days at the parks so want to make sure that HS is worth one of those days.

Before SWGE opened HS was a half day park for us. I could spend a whole day there now. Will you have parkhoppers? Are you big Staw Wars fans?

Don't think we'll have park hoppers as it's such a short trip (couple days post cruise).
DS and DH are big Star Wars fans. Did and I, not so much but appreciate Disney rides regardless.

When are you going? If you have two big fans I would lean towards go to HS for at least part of the time.

I've read on disboards somewhere that crowds were 'low' around the parks at the moment (and I've noticed on MDE that the line for MFSR was about 60/65 minutes last time I looked. I'll be heading to Orlando at the end of October, do you think that the crowds will be significantly higher? I'm staying offsite so won't get any early morning hours. Also, (not sure I'm explaining this right but . . . ) before Galaxy's Edge was opened I read they planned for depending on how your 'mission' went it would be mentioned if you were somewhere else there say ordering a drink or food? Does this happen or has that idea not materialized.

Wait times have been creeping up steadily this week and I would expect that to continue. October is one of the busiest times of the year at WDW.

Certain locations have reputation readers that show the strength of your affiliation with the resistance, first order, and as a smuggler. Disneyland didn’t start using it for several months. The only report I’ve read of it at HS was in Savi’s. I’m curious about it as well. It sounds like it may be something you only experience if you spend money, which stinks for a local who usually packs food and rarely buys souvenirs. Even locals who do buy stuff aren’t going to go on a shopping spree every single visit.

Question about single rider for MFSR, please :drinking:

Is there a centralized area to where all of the ride pods let out? I’m thinking we might split up our family of three and do the single rider line for all of the rides after the first one, but our kiddo is ten and I would want to have a very firm and obvious meeting point after we all emerge from our respective rides. Does this exist?

There are 4 exit points depending on which loading pod you go into. All of them require going down stairs and corridors. Before exiting the building there is a water fountain station, that would be ther best spot, if not then right at the exit of the building

Thank you so much! Do you think it would be very obvious how to get to the water fountain from any of the loading pods?

All the exits walk next to it. I would recommend walking through the exit door first until you reach the water fountain so you all can see it, then all of you would know what to look for

You are really the best, thank you again 🥰

Last Thursday 9/5 we were able to basically walk on Smugglers Run. I’m really glad we didn’t waste time waiting in a long lounge because the ride was Star Tours in a capsule. Let’s hope Rise if the Resistance lives up to the billing because right now I see SR becoming the Na’vi River rude to FOP!!

Other than that Disney nailed Star Wars land.

I'm traveling to FL for work next week. 9/24 is my travel day, and I plan to visit the parks (I have 1 day left on a multi-day park hopper ticket). My plane lands at 9:45, so I'll get to DHS around 10:30. I have a rough plan, but looking for any feedback/recommendations. My main goals are to see SWGE and to spend a few hours at Food and Wine. Here is the rough plan:
Arrive DHS around 10:30.
I have FP+ for RnR coaster at 10:50 and Star Tours at 12:35.
I'll also ride Tower of Terror and Slinky Dog if the waits are not long.
Then go to SWGE, explore, and ride Smuggler's Run. I'm guessing 2-3 hours is probably enough.
Hop over to EPCOT for Food and Wine for 2-3 hours.
Depending on time, hop back over to DHS for Fantasmic (I have a FP+), more SWGE exploration, and Galactic Fireworks. I'll also do some other attractions depending on wait times.
