Been waiting FIVE YEARS to go back, I just booked and heading to WDW in June 2020 !

Should I keep CSR standard room or switch back to Value resort to save money?

HOLY COW! This is happening! :mickeyjum:goofy::donald::tigger: My last trip was February 2014, FIVE LONG YEARS AGO! I am constantly on these boards dreaming and making virtual trip plans, so I am on top of all the new things going on.
So, now I just have to put all my knowledge to practice and GO FOR IT! I just updated this first post to reflect how my plans are now to go in June 2020 instead of October 2019.

I cannot wait! There are not many rooms open, especially in the price range I want, so I ended up booking All Star Sports. But just switched resorts yesterday to CSR. Right now I plan to go to MK my favorite of all parks since it will be my only full day at WDW. I have not decided all my plans yet. I want to check out both Hollywood Studios and AK since I have not seen Pandora yet. But then I also would like to go to EPCOT to ride two of my favorite rides Soarin and Test Track. And I have not experienced the new version of Soarin yet. DECISIONS, DECISIONS! :dance3::beach:

I just added a poll since I am wavering between which resort I should stay at on this trip. I have only stayed at a moderate in the past, CSR, CBR and PORFQ. I loved all three for different reasons. I loved the small size of PORFQ but it is one of the highest in price right now and I want to keep my budget in place with a value or low priced moderate. I am hoping for a discount but right now I am booked at rack rate to guarantee a room since I want a standard room since they are less than a water/pool or preferred room level at both value and mod levels.

Options:
1. Stay with CSR standard room as booked - I have stayed before back in 2008 and really liked it. Great theme and relaxing after a day at the parks.

2. Save money about five hundred dollars to stay at a value. I had originally booked All Star Sports because of the price and my son would like the theme. (My son may or may not be joining me on this trip now).

3. Go with a Disney Springs hotel since they have the same benefits - 60 day Fastpasses, etc.

I am constantly on these boards dreaming and making virtual trip plans, so I am on top of all the new things going on. But I just decided today that I would be able to go for a brief two day solo trip while in the area this coming week. So, now I just have to put all my knowledge to practice and GO FOR IT!

I cannot wait! There are not many rooms open, especially in the price range I want, so I ended up booking All Star Sports. I will arrive October 4th around eleven at night. I will hit the morning running the next morning. Right now I plan to go to MK my favorite of all parks since it will be my only full day at WDW. Then I will have the next day until around 1 pm to go to another park. I have not decided which one yet. I am not a big Star Wars fan so I might skip Hollywood Studios and go for AK instead since I have not seen Pandora yet. But then I also would like to go to EPCOT to ride two of my favorite rides Soarin and Test Track. And I have not experienced the new version of Soarin yet. DECISIONS, DECISIONS! :dance3::beach:

Very jealous. I would go for Animal Kingdom to see something that you haven’t seen yet in Pandora. Depends on wait times though

This is what I am thinking. I would like to see Pandora over Star Wars land and maybe since I will be by myself, the single rider lines won't be too bad. Though from what I have read, Pandora really is special at night and I will not be there at night. Just in the morning until around noon.

It looks like Saturday might be busy just based on the fact that I could not get a value or mod reservation from Disney directly - everything is booked. So, now I am waiting to link my hotel into Disney's site so I can check to see what Fastpasses are available. I am stalled right now in the planning stages. AND more importantly, I want to make sure that I get my flight information into the Disney site for Magical Express.

I just realized that I need to see it Magical express will even be running late at night. My flight arrives in Orlando at 10:32 pm. Since I am going for a short, quick stay on a budget, I picked a hotel that had Magical Express. I didn't want to have to fork over more money for some type of transportation to and from the hotel.

I got Magical Express lined up and so I am feeling better. I am writing this update Thursday morning. Tomorrow evening, on Friday, I will be at Disney! It is hard to fathom! WOW!

I had to cancel my trip. My mother was in the hospital. So, now I am revising my trip plans once again. I am rescheduling my trip for June 2020. And it will no longer be a solo trip for me. Right now, I am planning a trip with my kids. My son might not be able to join us if he cannot get off work. My hubby will not be going since it will be hard for him to get off and he is not much of a Disney fan. So, he plans to take off later in the summer for a family trip elsewhere with us.

I am now booked for WDW for June 2020. I just switched my plans from All Stars Sports to CSR standard room. I am beyond excited! My mother passed away in October when I originally had planned to go to WDW for a quick trip. Now, I have my summer trip planned and will be staying for 5 nights. I will be bringing my daughter and possibly my son too so it will no longer be a solo trip. My daughter will be 17 and my son will be 23 on this trip. He may not be able to go with us if he cannot get off work. He recently graduated from college and is working now full-time in an intern contract position that may or not become permanent. So, we will have to wait until closer to June to know if he will be going with us.

I am super excited and just having this trip to look forward to is helping me right now. I love all the planning details and the planning process (reading the DIS, reading menus, making plans, rearranging plans, etc) is something I use as a way to destress from my job as a middle school teacher. So, summer here I come!
