Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

That’s what I saw back in February. Not very “welcoming” at the gate. At least they aren’t placed extremely close to the buildings. I haven’t stayed at CB in about 10 years but the photos I saw looked like they are not only close to some buildings but likely visible from some rooms. At least the Skyliner will be used by CB guests for transport.

Sorry if my comments offend Skyliner fans. I am sure the Skyliner will be popular and the cars look cute even if the supports aren’t.

I agree. I think the term that comes to my mind is lack of “curb appeal.” First impressions though nails it.

I thought the same thing when we pulled up at BWI earlier this month. Definitely lacking curb appeal, or as I stated to my DH at the time, plain ugly, takes away from the deluxe feel of the resort.

On to another topic, the shampoo/soap dispensers. Someone had a shown a pic of them in a bathroom a bit further back on the thread. We were there, as I said just above, earlier this month, and we had the normal bottles (minus lotion😠). Anywho, I was thinking about the dispensers (not a fan by the way), and thought what about the face soap, mouth wash, etc? Are they still giving those out or have they replaced those too with a dispenser by the sinks? Any know?

They are not taking away bar soap

Whoever first brought up the TSA pre-check, Thank you, thank you, thank you. I applied Thursday and got my approval email today with the KTN. Soooo fast, I can't wait to fly in 2 weeks!
Cool
Make sure you update your reservation. It’s not added automatically
Just to be sure you are aware

And if you have frequent flyer accounts with any airlines, add your KTN to your profiles so the airlines will note it in your boarding passes automatically.

So excited! Booked a trip to BWI for 12/2-12/9. First stay here (have stayed at other Epcot resorts) and first visit at Christmas time!! I had been back and forth deciding whether to book a trip this year and DH gave me the push I needed. I was just looking on the Disney site for room discounts at many moderate and deluxe hotels and nothing showing up until about two weeks ago. Cannot wait!!

Wonderful! Before becoming snowbirds DW and I made many early December vacation visits to the Boardwalk. We always enjoyed the holiday decorations. We booked "standard view" and always got a balcony with a nice view of courtyard, fountain, or the quiet pool. Sometimes with Epcot sights in the background.
wishing you a pixiedust: visit!

I've done a search in this forum but haven't been able to find much info on the Garden Cottage suites with club level service. I just found an AP rate of $370.00 a night for a room that's normally $1200.00 a night(April 15-21). I couldn't pass it up. We've never stayed in one but have walked by them. Can anyone share pictures or suggestions, pros/cons...anything! I know it's a long walk to the club level lounge and reaching the actual Boardwalk takes a bit of navigating but I'm hoping it'll all be worth it, especially with this room rate.

Love them! Stayed in them a few times now. It's not a bad walk to the lounge. You can go in the bottom floor and take the elevator to the 4th and walk down from there.

There's lots of photos in the first page.

We might be staying at the Villas in January but one of the things that turned us off about the Inn in August was there was only once entrance to the Inn wing and that was from the lobby. our room was at the very end of the wing and it would have been nice to be able to enter by the ESPN club. Do the Villas have any entrances closer to the DHS end, or do we have to walk all the way back to the lobby to then walk backwards if our villa was close to DHS?
Thanks!

There are indeed entrances to the villas near where ESPN is, in the back of the building.

I hate to say anything to diminish your joy, but please take a word of caution. Apparently some of the AP rates showing this morning were incorrect, and Disney pulled them. This has happened in the past also. When it did, Disney did not always honor the incorrect rates. According to discussion in the Discounts forum, guests who had booked were offered one night at the incorrect rate as a goodwill gesture, but the rest of the stay was billed at Disney’s intended price.

I reeeally hope that’s not what will happen this time. But just in case, please be prepared with a backup plan. Good luck!
