Looks like I will be in Paris in mid - November, traveling from the USA. I’ve been to Paris multiple times, so I figured this time I’d try out Disneyland Paris, since I love all things Disney. I’ve been to WDW countless times (6 times this year alone) and I’ve been to DL in California a few times as well.

I’m most interested in the unique rides but also characters that are “rare” in other parks and / or in different outfits not found in other parks. I think I have the unique rides understood, but can anyone help with the unique characters? I see in the app they currently have Captain Hook, Cheshire Cat, Jack Skellington, Jafar, Maleficent, and the Queen Of Hearts. Are these characters always there?

Also, characters like Mickey, Goofy, etc. are any of them in unique costumes?

Thanks so much for any help!!

What you see at the moment is the Halloween entertainment. Cheshire Cat and Maleficent most likely won't be out during the Christmas season.
Jack Skellington is an option as he can be out for the Christmas season as well.

Captain Hook, Jafar and Queen of Hearts you have a good chance but not 100%.
The characters of Peter Pan, Aladdin and Alice in Wonderland have meets throughout the day lately. However this is on the program as 'friends of'. This means that any character from these movies can appear. When it says 'Aladdin' it is either Aladdin and/or Jasmine, Genie or Jafar.
I think out of these three, you have the highest chance to meet Captain Hook. Before Halloween started there were 2 meeting places.. One for Peter (sometimes with Wendy) and one for Captain Hook (Sometimes with Smee).

The characters announced at the moment are: Remy, Emile, Santa Claus (all in Studios) and Stitch, Thumper and Miss Bunny (Disneyland Park)

Unique costumes, the fixed Meet Mickey place at the back of the park is his original black/white/red/yellow outfit. So you could skip this.
The characters you find early in the day on Main Street probably will have Christmas outfits on. I'm not sure how unique these are in comparison to the US parks. Could be new outfits as well. One unique outfit I can almost guarantee you is the one of 'producer' Goofy at the entrance of the Studios. Unless something goes wrong, sickness etc. this character is out most of the time.

Keep an eye on the social media channels of ED92 for updates the days before you arrive.

It's hard to find time for shows if it's a one-time visit, but the highlights of the Christmas season are the Christmas parade (better than the regular one ;-) ) and Mickey's Christmas Big Band. And if you are into Princesses: The Starlit Princess Waltz including all princesses and princes (excl. Frozen & Moana). The parade and the Princess Waltz are in Disneyland Park, the Big Band is in the Studios.

What an amazing response! Thanks so much!!! I’m surprised that Christmas characters will be out mid November, but then again I really shouldn’t be....lol.

Again, I can’t say thank you enough!!

We went in April after many years at WDW and several visits to DL. Our last visit to DL Paris was 22 years before so lots had changed. We were looking forward to it but were worried we would be comparing it constantly to WDW. The best attractions for us that differ from WDW:

Crush's coaster - sounds like a kid's coaster but it's very enjoyable for adults too.
Ratatouille - amazing is the only word for it.
Big Thunder Mountain - it goes underground, definitely another favourite during the trip

Just so you are aware (in case you don't like them) Space Mountain has a revolution and corkscrew. I love Rock n roller coaster but did not enjoy Space Mountain at all.
