February 2020

Originally booked standard view room in the Gran Destino Tower Feb 23 to Mar 1 with 4 day base tickets with the Canadian discount for $3,138.64. Changed to a 6 day base ticket in a water view room for $20 less (factoring in the gift cards).

I found a standard view room for $200 less. Apparently they look in the direction of the parks and you *might* see fireworks in the distance. $200 USD in savings is worth a parking lots view if that's all we get.

FL Resident discount was the best deal, swapped out rack rate for the FL Resident discount for 8 days and saved $225. Not a huge amount but better than nothing! Not a lot of inventory at some of the hotels so hopefully they will open up closer to the time... we live in hope lol

i'm seeing a discount this morning. happy hunting everyone...

Just got off the phone with the Disney Vacation Specialist. . . no new Disney Visa discounts (besides Riviera). I asked about any other Visa discounts coming out and she said that they don't come out as regularly and she wouldn't be surprised if the Riviera discount was the only Visa discount. Mentioned that when a Visa discount drops, the soonest she's seen another one drop is at least a month after. Really hoping that we will still see a general resort discount from Visa for Q1!!!

Ooooooooooooooh, i feel so dumb. no wonder i couldn't find anything. didn't expect it to be on a friday.
Dont feel bad, I was refreshing the moment it came out and there wasn't much available to begin with! Didn't get a discount at all (POFQ) looked to me like much of the discounts were for everything BUT standard rooms. Sigh.

Keep looking ... they are starting to release more rooms!

I have been checking still but I hadnt high hopes for POFQ since they rarely get discounts anyway. The morning the discounts released, briefly there were pool view rooms for the exact same price I'm paying for standard but I wasnt sure we would even want pool view(loud) and it was gone pretty quick.

I'm on eternal hold trying to get a passholder discount because my AP hasn't been activated yet so I can't do it online. ughhhhhh

I sure hope so, but I wonder if I am wasting my time with frequent checking and refreshing. From others experiences in past years do they usually release more across all categories? I'm looking for a standard view at values so I am feeling like it's a lost cause.

I saw some for POR, but didn't look to see the room type.

we were originally booked at POP in standard view. Our TA got us the Gift of Magic discount but we had to change to Standard Pool View; kind of surprised would have expected that we need to change to Preferred.

We have a preferred room at pop and still haven't been able to get in on the deal

This is very interesting information! I haven't been able to view the Passholder rates either and I couldn't figure out why. I did a chat through the website, and called, and no one could figure out why I can't see the discounts. I've linked my AP to My Disney Experience, but haven't activated yet. I didn't know that was necessary - kinda stinks for us :(

You might want to try calling again. I didn’t think they needed to be activated. Mine aren’t activated and I got the discount. It’s not eligible on every hotel, and you have to sign in (either by going to My Plans or hitting sign in on the hotels screens), but you should be able to see rates without an activated AP.

Oh, well then I guess I'm back to square one. I'm definitely signed in, and can see that my AP is attached to my name in MDE. But when I hit the link on the Special Offers page for the Passholder rate, it takes me to a screen to purchase an AP - doesn't get me into the resort page at all. It's like it's not recognizing my AP, so it made sense to me that it was because it wasn't activated yet. I was able to get a quoted rate on the phone, but I'm looking at multiple trips and I keep switching up dates to try and find availability, so it's a pain to do that on the phone.

It has to be activated to see them online, but at least they will book for you over the phone.

I'm seeing more resorts for my dates that I was on Friday, but...my BWI garden view was already at 25%, so it's not getting cheaper. Still sitting on a Visa room at the Riviera as well, but I don't think the skyliner and a Murphy bed are going to sway me to take that over BWI, even with a $200 savings. Should it? Probably. But I'm not always rational when it comes to Disney!
