This Trip Report Is Under Refurbishment For Your Future Enjoyment (UPDATED 9/13 with final bonus chapter)

I really appreciate you and everyone else who takes the time to read these. I know that sometimes my chapters are really LONG. It amazes me that anyone would read all that, when there are so many other things you could be doing. So, thank you. I appreciate the time, the dialogue, and your friendship.
I am reading (and enjoying)....just not commenting as much as I once did. Work has had me more strangled (err tangled) than normal, so I find I try to catch up on the weekends more. Unfortunately, I have the added problem of the dis not notifying me on several threads I follow, so if I don't remember to go to watched threads, I miss a lot.

McD's… for all its faults (and there are many), rules at the chain French fries game.
I respectfully disagree...I think steak & shake fries are vastly superior. I like crispy fries and since steak & shake's are thinner, they're also crisper and I think have better flavor also.

I will eat one slice... then pick the pineapple off any subsequent slices. It's just... better without.
I love pineapple and I love ham, but just don't care for the combination on pizza. I don't criticize those that do, just not my thing. Other combinations other people like I dont...honey mustard and honey butter. I like all of them, but prefer my honey without being tainted. ;) There are a couple other mixtures I don't care for (but like the items separately), but senior moment I guess...can't think of them.

I'm over it now.
Mostly because I have no idea now what this refers to.

Oh, good. That means I don't have to try and remember the conversation, either. Anyway, welcome back! Hope you had a great time.

McD's… for all its faults (and there are many), rules at the chain French fries game.

::yes::

This is categorically impossible.

But...but...I've seen it!

:sad2:
And no way to get a refund. Pretty good scam they're running.

Wish I'd thought of that one.

Much? So you looked like me at a border crossing?

:rotfl2: I didn't pack any Ex-Lax.

Kids these days. Hmph!

Well, you try getting him to do what you tell him to do.

You're brain must've been almost ready to explode.

That happens a lot. Not a lot of bandwidth there.

I never new David was adopted.

I have always suspected something. He doesn't like bacon. Or BBQ.

I will eat one slice... then pick the pineapple off any subsequent slices. It's just... better without.

Yeah, in the end I would agree with that.

Heh. I could say the same. As a matter of fact, maybe I'll just copy and paste this into the end of my last overly-long chapter.

We can just apologize at the start of the next TR ahead of time.

Hey Mark,

Playing catch up all over the Boards today and it's ... a lot. I have no idea why but your photos are completely blocked for me. Suffrice to say I loved this TR and as always, look forward to the next one. And, as always, please PM when that happens. Hope all is well with your crew!

Huh. That's weird. But welcome back! Hope you had a great time!

So I investigated the problem and I think it might have to do with the browser you're using--maybe it needs an update?

I tried looking on my phone (which runs Apple Safari) and I couldn't see the photos. Then I got to work and checked on Google Chrome and everything looks fine--all the photos loaded, no problem.

Hi Mark - I just checked as well and they are also blocked for me. I saw them the first time but now they are blocked.

Thanks for the heads-up! See my response above. I think it might be an internet browser issue.

Well, I'm grateful whenever you can check in, Doc. Hope you're doing well. I would like to get the new TR started at some point here.

I've only been to a Steak & Shake once, several years ago...but I don't recall being very impressed.

I usually like pineapple on anything. But with pizza, it's more of a meh. Doesn't really improve it.

Let me know (might require a smoke signal if the dis doesn't let me know) and I'll follow along again and comment when I can. I'm sure you're happy I can't post as often. :lmao:

I actually think for burgers and fries, they're pretty good. The burgers are cooked after you order so they're always hot and fresh off the grill and as I said, I like their fries the best. Also, their prices are better than most fast food. If you actually get shakes, then it gets pricey. I'm not saying they're the greatest by any means, but when I want cheap and still good, they fit the bill.

If y'all get a chance to visit (even if not Disney...we're 30 min from beach), maybe my wife and I can make you home made pizza. If I do say so myself, it's really good. We had someone when I was stationed in Vegas offer to back us if we wanted to open our own place. I politely declined. At the time, I still had intentions of being career military and didn't really want to make pizzas EVERY day. Also, didn't really care for the climate in Vegas...120 in the shade and no shade to be found was TOO HOT and with it being so dry, sweat was gone so fast, it didn't cool you down...just dehydrated you.

I can't comment since I've never been to a Steak & Shake.
There aren't any up here, nor in the northern states (central, that is).

I did! :)
But...but...I've seen it!
Probably an hallucination.
:rotfl2: I didn't pack any Ex-Lax.
I should start doing that.

No thanks!

Pre-planning! I like it.

Getting ready to post the thread! It'll be in the DIS Dads area.

I honestly don't even remember my visit. It was in Florida years ago. We just got our first Steak & Shake in Delaware last year.

And here I thought it would be bacon and cheesecake! :rotfl2:

Hey, I never turn down free food. If the pizza is good enough to do it for a living, I'm in! But it'll probably be a few years before we're back in Florida again.

I can't comment since I've never been to a Steak & Shake.

Glad to hear it!

Probably an hallucination.

I knew I needed to get off these meds.

I should start doing that.

You really should.

Another great trip report! (I wasn't able to see your last round of pics either, and tried both Safari and Chrome after reading your comments about trying another browser. Oh well, I'm sure they were amazing!)

You're a good man, Charlie Brown.

Thanks for reading along! And for the feedback. I think it might be an Apple device thing. I don't really know what's causing that problem. I tried uploading the photo in a different way on the new TR and that seems to have made it show up better. But I'd love to know what's going on with this.

Thanks for trying! I just envisioned lots of trees, waterfalls, hiking trails, happy kids, tired kids, PB&J sandwiches, a few burgers, etc. :-) Still a fun read!

Most entertaining reports on the thread. Even more so because my family of five gives natural calamities a run for their money.

Wow, that's very high praise! Thank you! I'm glad our issues can be an endless source of amusement. :rotfl2:
