Thank you for putting in the effort to post this, much appreciated!

Am curious if anyone knows...I originally booked via phone. But yesterday I was able to book online with the discount so I booked a new room then went back and cancelled the old reservation. Perfect. Except that I remembered that when I booked originally they asked if we were visiting Disney for a special reason, which we are - our 20th anniversary - and he noted it in our reservation. Which, of course, is now gone. Is there a way to add that online or will I need to call again? I'm not looking for anything special, but when we went for my 40th birthday we had mentioned it when booking (again, over the phone) and it somehow was on my magicband that it was my birthday. So every time we used a FP, it flashed "happy birthday". Which was so cool...and we were sort of hoping for that again with our anniversary! Thanks!
You probably will have to call to have it added, you could also do it at the front desk when you arrive. I don’t trust the website for particulars, so I’d call. Happy 20th.

so with the skyliner issues, anyone think Disney would release better deals? am i reaching? of course!

Yes you are reaching...zippo chance
Perhaps as there are more events/evacuations, the enhanced value of staying in a gondola resort will change to a liability. It will take months of declining interest in a resort to filter through to discounts. The earliest sign of weakening interest will appear through opaque booking channels, if I may speculate.

I knew that would happen. Was up early for weeks checking and Friday was the only day I couldn’t as I was preoccupied all day. Darn near had a stroke when I checked Friday night and saw they dropped.
Was not a total loss though, I was able to rebook with the discount but as we are staying (or hoping to) at poly, it was pretty underwhelming savings.
Is poly usually less percentage? Is it just a popular choice and not in need of discounts? I’ll keep checking but i assume this is it for jan discounts. Visa card let me down too, boo! Really want poly but man it’s expensive!

For anyone who was as disappointed in the discounts as I was, look into the Swan and Dolphin. I found a good rate for my dates during Marathon week.

So i see they offered free dining for kid 3-9 - doesnt help me!!

Get a FREE dining plan for kids (ages 3 to 9) when you buy a non-discounted 3-night/3-day package for you and the kid(s) that includes a room at a select Disney Value Resort hotel, theme park tickets and a dining plan. Valid for arrivals most nights from January 1 – March 7, 2020 when you book through January 1, 2020.

I hope not...fingers crossed for next week! They definitely did not release a lot of rooms with this last discount, so I am hopeful there is something else coming
I believe you might be right about adding more rooms into the discounts. I have been watching their sites for my dates of arrival and they are slowly adding more rooms into the discounts ...of course they are starting with the club levels first! We are currently booked at a studio villa at the boardwalk with a discount, but I am not sure I want to stay there .. I have never stayed in a villa..the room looks smaller then a standard room plus one sink in the bathroom. We love the location and will stay if nothing else shows up.

This is our first time booking the annual passholder rate and I noticed it said you had to show your pass at check in.

Does this mean annual passholders can’t do online check-in and skip the front desk?

We are arriving late so i was hoping to just go straight to our room :scared:

Thank you so much for mentioning extra rooms added to the Gift of Magic discount in this thread! On Friday when I called there was nothing for Movies available to apply to my prebooked room, so after a talk with a lovely castmember I asked her about Pop. She swapped me over, it was maybe 230$ more than my movies reservation but I wanted something to be excited about so I did it.

Well I read through the topic today and decided to check. there was an offer available for my pop stay! There was one for a preferred room for my dates so I swapped. My bill went down to $3156 again (about the same in savings that I just increased it XD). Plus I get the giftcard, and I get a preferred room instead of a standard!

I went to the desk the first two times I ever booked an AP rate room and the CMs always looked at me funny lol. It was always a “I don’t know why you came up here” look so I stopped going to the desk. When I don’t stay CL I usually either go straight to my room if it’s ready, or drop my stuff at bell services and head to a park. Haven’t had an issue, no problems at all not going to the desk.
