Question about 3X on CIP. I thought I remembered reading that if I pay at the front desk for charges using my MB while at Disney this would qualify for the 3X credit? Just planning ahead for our spending. I usually used discounted gift cards to pay for our dining, but if it’s worth getting 3X using my CIP I will do that instead. I can save my gift cards to pay my DVC dues.
Yes it will code 3x on travel

Ok trying to find out what we should do in Vegas next week. It will be just DH and I no kids this trip. I’ve never been and I don’t think DH has either.

-what’s your favorite restaurant/s
-what’s your favorite show/s
-anything else that’s a must do

I go to Vegas 3-4 times a year. So much to do and see and eat, and I love to gamble. My wife doesn’t gamble at all and she enjoys going with me once a year.

Restaurants - so many to choose from and still a ton I haven’t tried, but I always try to hit up a couple of new places every trip

Dinner buffet - Bellagio
Breakfast buffet - Paris
Steak - CUT at Palazzo
Italian - Rao’s at Caesars
Sushi - Umiya off strip
Burger - Holstein’s at Cosmo
Hot dog - Dirt Dog right by LINQ
Pizza - Secret Pizza at Cosmo

Shows - Our favorite show hands down is Marc Savard. He’s a comedian hypnotist and we’ve seen it several times. Always a bit different with how people react. It’s located in the shops next to Planet Hollywood and tickets are cheap.

Favorite headliner show is Absinthe at Caesars. Do not go if you are easily offended. It is vulgar, but so funny.

I’m not much into the toruisty stuff, but there’s tons of shopping and the people watching never gets old. Hope you have a great time!

Favorite Vegas date with my wife was "cirque" themed with dinner at Le Cirque in the Bellagio, then off to the Mirage to watch The Beatles Love by Cirque du Soleil.

Oh interesting, Friend of mine inquired about an educational discount and they either said they didn't offer one or it was the same as the referral so he just used my referral so we both got the $. They offer a better discount than the normal referrals $100~$500? I have the basic because I was not planning on using it full time so didn't need to active cooling of the Pro model. I don't think the Plus is worth it $ to feature wise.

Hmmm, did they email from a school account? I think I get $500 off, maybe a bit more. The rep told me it was higher than the public discounts. I figured I needed the middle level atleast w/ the level we'd use it. I know you said don't get the vent, but I don't have windows. My Universals have HUGE venting units w/ them, and I've never cleaned them, LOL. So I didn't think about having to clean the vent on the forge. Hmmmm.

I always charge to the room for convenience, but still pay with discounted Disney GCs. 3x UR is 3% in cash or worth 4.5 cpp on the Chase travel portal. I try to buy Disney GCs with at least a 15% discount, and they can be bought pretty easily at 10% off, or even 5% off just using the Target REDcard or 5x UR by using the CIC at Staples/Office Depot/Max. So yes, paying room charges with your CIP will code as 3x UR for travel, but you can do a lot better with discounted Disney GCs.

I think the only time I'll use a credit card at a Disney hotel is to charge only up to $300 to use up the CSR's travel credit.

Got the Marriott on my ED but not the Bonvoy.... yet.

Also got a Save 15% at gas stations up to $5, expires 12/31.

I'll be stacking that with the Spend $40 get 400 MR points. Little things add up.

Go in branch and chat about your sole prop “biz”. It’s pretty easy tbh. You can even check for pre-approved cc while there! (Remember: fixed APR only means pre-approved.)
I guess I’m a little confused. So do you just need a chase biz card or would we have to actually open a checking account?

You have Biz: Gold, Plat and Reserve. Gold is the cheapest, especially with the AF waived. It will get you free bags and priority boarding. Plat will be of more interest to you IF you’re paying cash for flights due it’s Companion Fare but make sure the AF is worth it (it probably will be for that distance). Reserve is to be considered if Delta lounges are a priority to you. Assuming you don’t have a DL mile balance wanting just 70k to top off and/or just free bags Plat is probably your best bet. I would Plat one player, use the link we have on DISchurners to generate elevated support links (or message a DISchurners mod for it, like myself :) , if you don’t see it) and then refer your P2 to the Gold to get the bonus plus referral miles.

I’m behind so they may have already responded but @kmc8826 is a “Delta hostage” ;) who has been through most of the DL cards so she might be able to help you as well!

ETA: DELTA HOSTAGE... I know we have a 2nd here but DIS forgive me I can’t remember who, PLEASE feel free to jump in here while I wander off to the Corner of Shame and see if they’re taking strays ;)

@mickey squared Great advice above on getting the Plat and referring to the Gold. We have had all of these cards at one point. The Reserve is great for someone who travels alot. My DH gets upgrades from time to time since he has status and the Reserve card, but not as often as he used to years ago. The lounge access is only for the Reserve cardholder and then it is $29 each for up to 2 guests.

Likewise. I got the Marriott offer on my Platinum and BBP, but not on my Bonvoy Brilliant where I've already added the Marriott luxury brands offer and hope to stack for my December stay at the Royal Hawaiian. I'll hold off on adding the Marriott offer for a few days to see if it gets targeted to the Bonvoy cards.

Here is a DP on those with Delta Vacation reservations. We had a trip planned for Christmas and paid for the insurance - 3 roundtrip tickets and 2 nights in expensive hotel for $2,100. We ended up moving the dates up to last weekend and changing to 2 roundtrip tickets/2 nights in a cheap hotel (which we didn't use). They told over the phone that they would cancel the 1 unused roundtrip ticket and I would get a voucher for the difference. I called yesterday since I hadn't received a voucher and was told the voucher for $489 was mailed and should be here in a few days. So the tickets purchased at the last minute ending up around $633 each ($2,100 - $144 insurance - $489 voucher - $200 hotel/2). My ticket was $1,325 for the same flights! I will definitely be looking into booking through Delta Vacations again.

I guess I’m a little confused. So do you just need a chase biz card or would we have to actually open a checking account?
It's a bank account bonus that @gottalovepluto linked to. You'd open a biz checking account, deposit some money, do a couple tasks and then they'd pay you the $500 bonus. Just have to keep the account open for 6 months before closing to not get the bonus clawed back.

Since this has to be opened in branch to get the bonus, it's suggested to look for pre approved credit card offers while you are there. Occasionally it's a better offer than a public one but for people under 5/24 it's not a necessity. A true pre-approved offer will bypass the 5/24 rule, so for some opening a card in branch is the only way to get a Chase card. But always check while you're there cuz you because you never know when they'll get a special offer, doesn't hurt to ask. (If you already have a biz card they'll see your account anyway, the checking account gets added to your existing login; at least in our experience)

I think they offered you the referral discount (That is better than the public price yes) and spun it so you would use that over someone's referral link for a discount of the same amount so they just had to pay out $500 instead of $500/$600. :rotfl2: I seem to remember thats what they tried to do with him so he went with my link since it cost him the same.

Well you already know how to play around with different things to not fill up the filter fast with glues and such. Their filter is not industrial by any means. People report less than 10hrs cutting MDF before it needs to be replaced at $250.

I'm scared to look... please be on DHs Brilliant, please be on DHs Brilliant...…..

That would mean we spend $305, get back his $300 credit, the $25 anniversary credit, and another $60... probably to good to be true to work like that! lol

ETA: I mean too good to be true to actually have it on the right card, since they would stack...

For the life of Kermit, I cannot figure out the Barcray-cray biz site. My dh's new card is so all over the place. I don't even know what the heck to pay. Not at all. 🤷‍♀️
It has to be the weirdest financial site ever!! I could never figure it out either. I just always paid the highest balance. And then never touched the card again.

I actually read the "nefarious" article this morning too, even I was shaking my head at that one.
